  1. I thought Pardon plays the four (like Murphy) and Tanner would be guarding their starting post player. Oh well, my bad.
  2. Is it unreasonable or unrealistic to hope that we can lay a double digit blow out on N'western tonight?
  3. Jim Ledsome...really? Didn't he choose to leave our program and go to Delaware? Is Jordy still in town? Perhaps we should honor him as well. Sorry, perhaps that thought is a bit mean spirited.
  4. But it sure seems like Pardon creates similar issues when they play us...
  5. So far this season he has 49 assists and 49 turnovers. He has a total of 81 fouls which allegedly averages to 3.4 fouls per game. Cannot find stats that separate offensive from defensive fouls.
  6. I am not going to comment about his 3-point shooting, other than his shot looks good, and they simply are not finding net. Wait, I will make one comment; he still passes up open looks and then dribble drives into a turnover...which drives me nuts. Where I see the issue is that Isaiah is still tentative around the rim. I still believe a big part of that is the fear of being called for an offensive foul. Let's simply look at the last game and his match-up with Murphy. Murphy gets very low, and oftentimes crab dribbles. He leverages his shoulders and chicken wing and more often than not, gets away with it. His shot always takes place with his momentum going towards the rim. Contrast that with Isaiah. He tends to stay high and his dribbles are high. He opens himself up to reaches and allows the opponent to leverage his upper body. Oftentimes, Isaiah ends up falling backwards or sideways when releasing the ball. Now I do not profess to be an expert, but my humble opinion is that he still remains tentative with his shot, despite shooting more. He will improve his percentages by actually being more aggressive. Yet the obvious concern is foul trouble. The more Isaiah bangs, the more apt he is to being called for fouls.
  7. meh...I was disappointed with the lack of student attendance. I am sure others will provide excuses, but it certainly seems shallow that they will show when we are winning and then fail to support their team when it is struggling. The same thing takes place with football. Yeah, I came from a different time, it simply baffles me.
  8. I don't know...but you have to love the offensive explosion. This is our first real exposure to a field as well. Not a bad start, even if the team is below average. Let's see how the weekend plays out.
  9. I don't question it either...
  10. I am not too alarmed, especially this early. Strikeouts are more in vogue these days. Where we once taught to shorten up the swing with two strikes, few players (Rizzo from the Cubs as an example) do that in today's game.
  11. Maybe the students will show up for this game...then again, maybe not.
  12. https://hailvarsity.com/s/6221/nebraska-set-to-honor-legends-looking-for-second-straight-win Per a university release, nearly 50 former players will be in attendance.
  13. I don't believe I have ever witnessed another human being sweat as much as Moses Malone. That dude was a faucet.
  14. Here is the deal...number one, Tim Miles is our coach and will be cheered on by me until the day he is not the coach. There certainly is going to be angst and teeth gnashing due to what has occurred the past month. But until I hear differently, he is still OUR coach. Number two, it is naive to think that anyone has communicated directly with any coach. That isn't what happens in today's world. Instead, contact is made with a coaches agent or representative. Any preliminary discussion goes through that individual. So if there is word on the street of mutual interest or words to that effect, that declaration of interest did not come from a coaches mouth; instead, it would have come from the agent or the representative who then, when appropriate, would float it past the coach. Given that we still have a coach, and that coach is still under a multi-year contract, I doubt any substantial discussion has taken place. If anything took place, I surmise it would be Director of Athletics Moos, or one of his minions, contacted an agent (who may represent a number of coaches). Moos would say something akin to "we have a coach, but things may change at the end of the season; we may be interested in reaching out to Coach A, B and C." The agent then would reply something akin to, "hey, I will be here and we would be glad to listen to what you have in mind." Now if the agent represents an unemployed coach, that conversation may have a bit more texture. To date, since we do not have an opening, any further conversation is unlikely. Also, if another coach is under contract, I believe it is appropriate (or maybe even required) to receive permission from the school to talk to the coach. Do you believe any school would allow you to talk to a coach, who is under contract, while the season is active?
  15. What is it going to hurt to tell us the name...unless there is no name.
  16. If true, the retraction will not gain as much attention as the original story. Too bad for those kids, if true.
  17. His interview with Tosh. This is what he is doing today. http://www.cc.com/video-clips/nd2mei/tosh-0-extended-interview---boom-goes-the-dynamite-guy
  18. Underwood has some talented young players, and they have a lot of good recruits in close proximity. The issue I would have with Underwood is whether or not players will buy into his approach to the game. His current unit seems to have bought in.
  19. I want to know the name of the "fan" who yelled "Petino sucks" or something similar during one of our free throws. I know a number of other fans got on him.
  20. Oh man, with all due respect, those are ughhhhly.
