  1. I think it was November 28, 1978. In addition, my youngest son also got his autograph at the old Boston Garden while he was a Celtic (and unfortunately, lost it).
  2. Oh yeah, I remember seeing this guy when he played center for Minnesota at BDSC.
  3. Of course, he's been dead for 51 years now.
  4. I have to take a break now-my head just exploded.
  5. One of the most underrated singers of the 70-80's. He died too young in an airplane crash on New Year's Eve 1985. I was visiting my in-laws in El Paso and attended the Sun Bowl Classic basketball tourney, which featured Nebraska, who finished third (We lost to Alabama and beat Ohio State-UTEP with Jeep Jackson and Dave "Cheese" Feitl won). The news put a bit of a pall on what was a very memorable visit.
  6. I hope there will be no rushing the court this time when we win.
  7. I wonder if Tominaga's parents will be here again. It's not exactly like walking across the street to get here from Japan. Hopefully they will make it since he seems to play well when they are in the stands.
  8. To answer your question in the real world since I don't play the game, Dave, I will choose door #1. When I peruse the obits each morning, I realize that my own chance to see us join the list of teams to win an NCAA game is rapidly diminishing. I've now seen the Chiefs, the Red Sox, the Husker football team, and the Jayhawks win multiple championships and my final sporting ticket that needs punched is the illusive NCAA win before the conductor asks for mine. And I'm not even asking to win the whole damn thing (although it would be a nice bonus).
  9. Sappy song with appropriate lyrics.
  10. Any late word on the status of Battle's ankle injury for Thursday?
  11. Are redshirts eligible for NIL money if they are on scholarships?
  12. TCU's court should be worth minus 10 points.
  13. Strange, his point total was reported as 25 in the LJS story this morning.
  14. Ditto for Rutgers and Michigan games. Let's win them all, just to be sure, though.
  15. No wonder they called him Jumbo-he appears to be 8 ft. tall.
  16. Lest we become too enthusiastic about reaching the NCAA, let us not forget these names and numbers: Western Kentucky,-8 Xavier,-5 Connecticutt,-21 Penn,-10 New Mexico State,-14 Arkansas,-9 Baylor,-14
  17. I haven't noted any deliberate distribution problems myself and don't see any point in bringing it up. I really doubt any of the players are thinking that about not throwing the ball to player X,Y,or Z, since hitting an open player should be an instinctive move when the opportunity arises.
  18. Review: 'Nebrasketball' by Scott Winter (journalstar.com)
  19. Here is a question I have which doesn't merit a new thread. Do Keita, Ulis, Lloyd, and Coleman practice with the team on the "taxi squad" to mimic opponents? I think they would be useful in that regard, since it does not appear they will be involved in any of our games otherwise this year.
  20. NU 76 UM 74 They will be a tough nut to crack, but we have some nutcrackers.
  21. Thanks, I changed it. When it was built, it was the largest basketball arena in the U.S. Hinkle Fieldhouse - Facilities - Butler University Athletics (butlersports.com)
  22. Actually, this was filmed in Hinkle Arena at Butler. My daughter received her diploma underneath one of those baskets!
