I’m assuming our game with perennial Tournament also-rans Creighton will be in Lincoln next year. I believe they’re up TWO in the All-time series, time to make our move & put em in the rearview mirror for good...
Well, it looks like Hunter will be taking his talents as far way from Omaha and Nebraska as possible. Let's hope his new team gives another dose of disappointment to all the faithful "On the Hill"
The "Revolving Door" nature of this program is concerning right now. We all know why (each season was problematic/unique) in it's own way. But we need to establish an identity you can hang her hat on and then build from there. I know what Fred has in mind, and next season should be more of HIS guys, but 14 -45 speaks for itself...
ALL true, their epic fails (on a different scale) haunt their fan base as well as ours do. I can at least take solace in the fact they only have ONE more measly Sweet Sixteen appearance then we do...!
I can't stomach the thought of that team "up the road" knocking off the undefeated, number one seed & then hearing about it ENDLESSLY into perpetuity...
Gonzaga’s reputation as being “soft” not playing in a REAL Conference & being wildly overrated are all well earned in my opinion. But, that ALL goes out the window this week & I’m happy to say I hope they beat their next opponent handily & advance to the Elite Eight...!
Very true, but there’s no Glenn Robinson, Calbert Cheney or Chris Webber etc in this league. Garza’s a nice player but I don’t expect him to make a big splash at the next level...
I hate to sound like a "Debbie Downer" but when we bring in 4 new scholarship players plus what's already in the Hopper, (plus Thor?) he's going to be buried on the bench.
My buddy worked for them in the 80’s & said the Box was by far & away the most expensive item for them to cover. The pizza was 13 cents & they could give the Pop away.
Brings to mind the T.O. Show when Switzer showed up with a bag of Tacos for Tom since we were headed to the Sun Bowl in El Paso & OU alas back to the Orange Bowl...
Would love to see him end up @ UNO, hometown boy makes good right? Plus the success of ALL 3 of our D1 programs is beneficial to the others. Id' love to see Creighton win the Big East every year, as long as we're beating them by 15-20...!
One of my best friends tutored some of the players that year, so I had the lowdown on that squad. More than overconfidence I think they “spit the bit” when they got under the bright lights on the BIG stage...
