I remember when they lost to the Bullets in the EASTERN Conference finals in ‘78, people forget all the real stars at that time came over from the ABA...
-
I had to google him, no recollection even though he went to Prep. Certainly no relation to Harvey. I always loved how the PA announcer would string our HAAAR-vey Marshall!!!
-
Was he related to Harvey from Natchez Mississippi...?
-
Coach Hoiberg’s Timberwolves also have a long history of Wolfpack greats from Sidney Lowe & Thurl Bailey to Tom Gugliatta...
-
I knew that one was coming as I was typing in my initial thoughts. Growing up in the sticks allowed AM radio from all over to filter in. Listened to lots of Spurs/Nuggets games as kid. 130-140 point games were not uncommon. The Ice Man & David “Skywalker” Thompson...!

FINALLY we get the Wolfpack. I’ve been a huge fan since the David Thompson days, who can forget his 73 point performance for the Nuggets the same day Gervin scores 63 (and the ‘78 scoring title) If you’ve never seen the ‘76 ABA slam dunk contest check it out on the YouTube. Dr. J, David Thompson, Larry Kenon...

Former Husker Player getting his due
Handy Johnson replied to Faux Mike Peltz's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Everyone from Dan Patrick to Arnie Spanier is talking up his Coaching acumen. If he can pull off this series though with no Kawai, that would be fairly remarkable...Still wish he would’ve got the Laker job. -
Maybe the cheerleaders could dress up like Jamie Lee Curtis...?
-
Looks like we’ll be hosting a scrimmage vs. the Buffaloes on Halloween. So wake up the echoes of Shaun Vandiver, Donnie Boyce, Chauncey Billups & Billy Law...
-
Heard folks talking on the radio last week that Bryce might be our first ever One-n-Done. If he’s THAT talented with the pieces already in place, who knows what our “ceiling” might be. Also hoping he becomes so enamored with the U, even if he COULD go Pro he’ll stick around to win a B1G Title...

Moos was going to replace Miles the minute he walked on Campus regardless of the season he had & Tim knew it. Osborne got Frost here, Fred found a soft landing after his Bulls gig & Boldt couldn’t say no to his Alma Mater. I never cared for Eichorst, too much of a “bean counter” for me, but I believe Moos benefitted from a confluence of good fortune more than anything else. I for one am glad he’s gone & I believe we can do better.
-
He always struck me as overmatched & out of his element (regardless if he owned a ranch). The way he handled Tim Miles told me all I needed to know about him. Frost/Hoiberg/Bolt with their Nebraska ties would’ve come here regardless of the AD. I for one am hoping Hank Bounds gets the nod, not Trev Alberts & not someone who’s supposedly “on the come”...

Creighton Basketball - what a bunch of cheaters

I lived by the Joslyn Castle so it was nice back then too, I don’t trust anything though that happens West of 72nd...! -
Ogallala snapped their 114 game winning streak. Former Husker Jason Glock never lost a game in high school, not one.

Seems quaint now compared to the unethical practices (pun intended) we’ve come to expect. It’s funny how all the Blue Blood Creighton alums now want to play the “everybody does it” card...like it’s no big deal. -

One of the nicest High School gyms in the State. Hastings & Kearney St used to play neutral site games there. -

It’s on the scenic banks of the Republican River & also the smallest city in the State with it’s own radio station. Hometown of Husker greats Ed Weir & now Kalyn Meyer... -

I never said I didn’t like it, those qualities are part of it’s charm... -

I’ve lived on 24th & Leavenworth, also 39th & Dodge. Spent plenty of time in the Big “O”... -
Of all the schools I'd like to make our "Whipping Boy" in the B1G, Bucky the Badger tops the list...

A $5000 fine...? That's like a handshake down at Barrett's Barleycorn. Omaha's always been a dirty, rundown, crime filled River town. This only adds to the mystique. -
I’ll say it right here, right now, ALL 3 of those players will be on our roster when we play in our first Sweet Sixteen...
-
I believe Wisconsin had 14 straight top 4 finishes in the Conference, but before Michael Finley & Rashard Griffith showed up on campus they were garbage...

If we haven't seen our last losing season around here for awhile we're in a LOT more trouble than any of us envisioned. We fired a guy after he wins 19 & replace him with a guy that loses back-to-back 20. The reasons for that have already been debated & discussed ad nauseum, but it's still stark & jarring. The talent Fred's assembling is off the charts, now it's time to make that 13 to 4 type jump in the B1G standings, soon...!

I saw Dave Hoppen play with the original Charlotte Hornets, there’s a jersey I’d like to have...!
