  1. Not trying to have a jinx thread. ... *But I feel pretty good about the team, and will absolutely cackle at Lunardi when the time comes.* Oh. Wait. Nevermind. I just decoded your underlined phrases... This doesn't seem jinxed at all!
  2. I appreciate the level head on this one. We've got a solid roster. Let's see how it plays out. But I'm all for giving it back to Lunardi when we go dancing!
  3. At this rate Hoiberg will start recruiting kids who haven't even been born yet!
  4. This board (HHC) tends to thin out to a small minority during the offseason. I'd imagine that's no different than their community. We've been blessed with a busy offseason this go around and some new found energy. I hope this offseason banter continues for many seasons to come.
  5. Strangely enough, we're also 0-40 until we ain't. I enjoy the summer time, but can't it be November right now?
  6. Thank goodness Standhardinger's measurements were never made public.
  7. As much as I would love for that to happen and, should that be the case, I am on Cloud Nine. Let's not undermine the fact that although Hoiberg has a cast in place to put on a show, he still needs to orchestrate it. The trip to Italy is a great way for the team to bond, but there's still going to be some roster management and cohesiveness to sort out on the court with all new players. Let's not also undermine what it actually takes to be a Big Ten basketball titleholder. We've got a long season ahead of us, but he sure has made this an active offseason for the university and for HHC!
  8. ...but which way does his knee bend?
  9. As it stands today: Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Nebraska, Minnesota: Best outcome: 1st, Worst outcome: 5th Iowa: Best outcome: 2nd, Worst outcome: 10th Northwestern: Best outcome: 3rd, Worst outcome: 12th Rutgers: Best outcome: 6th, Worst outcome: 12th Ohio State, Maryland, Purdue, Michigan State: Best outcome: 7th, Worst outcome: 12th Penn State: Best outcome: 13th, Worst outcome: 13th
  10. It's actually pronounced:
  11. Beilein is 66. He'll be just fine, with or without success at the next level. If it's his dream to coach at that level before he packs it in, then good for him on earning that designation. He was a great ambassador for the conference and NCAA in general, so I wish him all the best.
  12. I'm 8 months past my 37th birthday and and definitely still growing. What's the status on the leg hairs?
  13. That was a fowl joke.
  14. Promote within probably on the table? I'd imagine it's something like that. It's hard for me to believe that Beilein would do this all in a vacuum and ghost the university.
  15. Sek seemed pretty easy too, but apparently you can screw that one up as well.
  16. Need another series win here, if not for Big Ten standings, then for confidence going into the NCAA tournament.
  17. I've discussed this with others before, but I see a new coaching job as either maintaining for short term survival or rebuilding for the long term. One isn't necessarily better than the other, it just depends on the circumstance. Miles maintained/added a couple guys and it got him an NCAA bid in Year 2, something that hadn't happened in about 20 years for our program. Hoiberg is taking a different approach. Should be interesting to see how this shapes up.
  18. How 'bout that T9 1 out/1-on play to maintain the 'W' today?
  19. Those bridges these days...
  20. Did I just hear that right? Shamus McKnight is the official scorer of the CWS?
  21. Feel pretty good about this prediction: Five guys will start for Nebraska. I'd much rather have Conley's start over Five Guys...
  22. Off to a great start.
  23. I hear Maine is good this time of year.
