  1. from watching the vid you posted, im more in favor of them than i was before, but im still in wait and see mode...at this point if were recruiting a 6'10'' kid at 240 id prefer him to be athletic, but i like the comparison to JBD but i feel like given are current roster a center more like Maric is what we need, or a skilled big man that can pass from the high post..i like this kid...just not as a Plan A or B recruit. I think he can bulk up to a point where he's probably similar in size to Maric. I think he finishes at the rim better than Maric. JBD largely did that well. I think he's plays with more aggression than JBD did. I think he ends up somewhere in between what those two were.
  2. I'm sure this will go over well, but he looks to me a lot like JBD with a bigger frame... Seems to do a lot of things well, not flashy. If he can come in, maybe redshirt a year and get stronger, could be a solid player, probably not an all-conference guy, but a solid player who improves every year. That's what I see.

  4. I don't know that I would read anything into that... @BoilerGuy99 is just some random Purdue fan that only has 24 followers, so that should give you some indication of his credibility/relevance... So what do you mean by that? Sincerely, Guy with 17 Followers Haha. I just meant that he's not a media member, or recruiting analyst, or anyone that has sources inside of the program, so he is likely just running his mouth with no real knowledge of the situation. (or running his fingers i guess) I'll give you the first two, the third is likely, but can't assume that.
  5. I see nothing wrong with the writer trying to convince the kid Marshall is for him. I would hope the LJS and OWH (most are to busy bashing the program to do something constructive for it) would do the same. Can't see the OWH ever doing that. Maybe the LJS. Maybe. But I think that's outside of that they'd normally do.

  7. they lose the best player they've probably ever had in Wolters. I don't expect them to be at that level next year.
  8. Only 10 more to go.Michigan Michigan State Indiana Ohio State Miami FGCU We don't play Michigan St. at home this year.
  9. Don't think they'll be ranked. They were a 15 seed for a reason and they lose their top scorer and coach. I'll be pumped because it's a new season, new players and stoked for the new building, not because of the opponent.
  10. I was 100% joking when I included them on the list...

  12. Why? our 3 bigs are going to have a combined 5 min of d1 experience. That doesn't mean you have to take a guy though. You only take him if he can help the program. You get in trouble when you start handing out 'ships just to have them all filled. I'd rather reward a guy like Peltz or Tyrance or Menke for a year than take a guy just because you still have an open scholarship. these are valuable commodities, can't be casual with them.
  13. You're mad at a guy for going home when he has an opportunity? In that profession, those opportunities don't come very often, you gotta take that opportunity when it comes. I'll never fault a guy for going home if that was the real reason he went.
  14. Planning in terms of what? I'd almost guarantee the architects already have the plans drawn up for what the addition will be. It'd just be a matter of how long will they wait before they do it.
  15. If the next two seasons go as I think Miles expects, there will be discussion about filling that in. We're not really to the point of this being a significant discussion.
  16. I think with Miles' plan for the offense, we're going to see a lot more of two 4's on the floor a lot rather than a true 4 and 5. That also seems to be a trend in CBB in general. A true center who fits what Miles wants to do will be very difficult to find.
  17. Yes, i meant block. I'm with you. I've been saying for a while now that make the defenders defend. The thing about the Craft play is that he wasn't even in the play until it was basically over. He slid across the lane, the ball handler had already beaten his defender and started his upward movement and never saw Craft. I agree, I think the rule is to get rid of that undercutting slide.
  18. Well, for instance the charge call in the Ohio St. vs. Iowa St. game would have been a charge. Take away the controversy about whether the heels were in the circle or not, he slid under the ball carrier after he had started his upward motion. That call happens quite a bit. http://www.sbnation.com/college-basketball/2013/3/24/4142318/ncaa-tournament-2013-ohio-state-iowa-state-charge-aaron-craft-rule Video of the call comes in about 20 minutes into the clip.
  19. No doubt in my mind Gallegos will start. If he gets more consistent with his shot, he'll be a border line all conference player. Best defender on the team.
  20. Organic movements is a very hipster thing.
  21. If a transfer (1-yr grad or 2-3 yr undergrad) happens that will generally upgrade the talent on the roster in the coming season(s), then that's a positive development. Otherwise, a late add could wind up being more of a crap-shoot than a well-positioned move. Of course, but I don't see them taking a player just to take a player, at least I hope I don't see that happen.
  22. It will occur organically, if it happens. the organic movement is big these days.
  23. People, groups, companies, etc... rebrand successfully all the time. Heck, HHC's done it twice! Personally, i'd love to see us move out of the dungeon.
