Alright, peeps, now that this is done, this thread will be shutting down at 3 pm PBAT (Pinnacle Bank Arena Time). -
Just in case you are interested in applying...
uneblinstu replied to Huskerpapa's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
It always came as in email form for me, at least it has the past couple university jobs I applied for. The declination document my buddy received was an actual letter, it was personalized and quite nice. It might depend on the position and how far along in the process he got. I didn't get very far. It was nice of them to do that though. The benefits are really nice if you can find a position where your soul isn't sucked out of you... -

It could mean any of about 20 different things. -
I'm a terrible judge at these sort of things until I actually get inside the building. But individual seats all the way to the top makes a big difference. You can cram a lot of people onto those benches.
-
Hey Norm! Our seats have been installed!

Huskers Sell out Public Tickets at Pinnicle Bank
uneblinstu replied to Huskerbb73's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I do not believe this is an accurate summary of how seating was handled. I was C-12 Row 22 ( season ticket holder for 30+ years and a small football donor, that I never realized could have gotten me to a better place and much better parking until 2 years ago!!! I ain't that bright! ) I did not realize it was not a basketball specific donation that got you seats!...Who was dumber...them or me? During the recent renewal, I was asked whether I wanted mid court 200 level seats (Mezzanine at $50/seat donation per year that were comparable to my C12 seats, I guess although I did not have a previous seat donation) or not... BUT on the form...there was a section below that allowed me to put in whether I wanted to upgrade and/or what I would do....I offered $100 donation a seat/year if I could sit in section 119 (or the other 3 comparable sections at worst)...and I will now be there. I believe you may have misunderstood your options when they reassigned seats. Maybe the ticket gurus here can enlighten us. This is basically what happened to me, too, except moving from 300 to 200 levels. -
I was all set to agree that this is the lesson from the women's game. Yes they have a shorter shot clock, but the lesser degree of physical play allows more scoring, but I look at the shooting percentages, and I can't tell. Since both are hitting at equal percentage, is it the shorter time or just easier looks that are causing almost 10 points difference? NU Men 58.3 ppg on 40% shooting. 1,741 attempts NU Women 67.0 ppg on on 40% shooting. 2,047 attempts. They also play strikingly different styles, though Miles has said more than once that he'd like the men to more resemble the women's style. I'm hoping the men's numbers will go up as the talent increases. Miles has expressed a willingness to open it up, we'll see if it does or not.

Even with McDermott coming back, the Jays lose quite a bit. It will be interesting to see what the look like next year. This move is good for basketball, but it will make our game with them more difficult.
-
Not necessarilly. We've got an opportunity for a perfect storm with the arena opening combined the better than expected 2012-13 that could produce that attendance before the product on the floor actually warrants it. If this team is playing well at the end of the season, it should have significant carry-over to 2014-15.

Sai Tummala -> Arizona St.-> Hawaii
uneblinstu replied to Huskerpapa's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
Sure, but if he grew up down the street from ASU and has been in Salt Lake the past year, it's not like he needs to take an official to know what he needs to know about those programs. I would caution ruling out either of those two schools just because he's not taking officials to either one. If he was set on staying on the west coast, I doubt he would be taking visits to Nebraska and Georgia. B1G and SEC are better basketball conferences than the MW and PAC12. I think Sai wants to play in the best conference. We are in the best conference of the 4, and we have the advantage of playing against his former team. Big Ten is clearly the best of those four, but the SEC really isn't that much better than the other two. Sai's a smart kid. He's going to consider all his options, regardless of which coast it is or isn't on. I really don't see seeking revenge as a huge motivator in his decision. While he may be basketball first, that doesn't mean he's basketball only. -

Only Michigan and Indiana are affected by early entrants and not sure if you notice but both are bringing in a top 5 or 6 class in the country. The B1G hasnt really gone down but reloaded for the past 5 years. Expecting that many wins is sipping a lot of red kool-aid. Thomas leaving early for OSU is significant too and Illinois and Minnesota lose a TON to graduation. Big Ten will be talented next year, no doubt, but it won't be as strong as it was last year. If NU can keep their home and home with those two schools, that would probably be beneficial to the Huskers. -

But he's also said he'd take them if there was a player that could help the program and he might have to do a little more of that than he'd like the first class or two. Would ultimately like it to be the exception rather than the rule. -

Why is the Rosenthal tweet/article thread locked?

There are already threads on all the topics and players discussed in there, just trying to keep things from getting to cluttered. I thought I had posted in there explaining that, evidently it didn't take... -

I'm not sure it took a lot of acumen to spot this kid. He had offers from a whole bunch of schools before ever starting HS. He was hardly an under the radar kid. Easy for you to say, what with Creighton landing 5-star recruits left and right. But this is new territory for us, actually getting listed with some quality players. (Uneblinstu, there is sarcasm in this post. Just FYI. ) Oh, phew. I was about to go all Oscar the Grouch on you for that one.
