  1. I think the extra year is a pretty long shot. My understanding of the rule is that the threshold is 30% of the season in D1. Louisville would need to play 34 games for him to get under that. That's obviously not going to happen. If only he'd have gotten hurt one game sooner...
  2. Didn't see most of the game. Missed all the good stuff, it sounds like. Were down 18 when I got home, made a surge to get back into it. Then Indiana surged back to win by 16. In the end, without Shavon, that's about what I expected. Hopefully they can find a way to grind one out vs. OSU if Shields isn't back yet, that would be big. I think he'll be back for PSU. Anyway, tough result tonight. I'll let you guys fill in the deets.
  3. Have we offered him? Has he grown at all since high school?
  4. That is probably the ideal scenario for NU at this point.
  5. May I suggest the cheerleaders go with the Slave Leia costumes in honor of Star Wars Night? Seems a little restrictive to be playing cuffed and chained up.
  6. Fair enough. But you've been able (or maybe you haven't noticed, IDK) to see a group of new players come in and grow game by game, learning what it takes to play at the B1G level. Everyone wants to win more games, but there are a bunch of good things that have happened this season.
  7. Say what now? lol, everyone wishes more games had been won. It's been anything but a terrible year, though.
  8. They could no doubt get in. Not sure they'd take something below the NIT. It's possible, but not a sure thing.
  9. This is a bonus game. Not remotely expected that NU wins this one, if by some chance they do, bonus!
  10. That appears to be the case. I'm sure the Cleveland newspaper will vote on one, though. http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/big10/sports/m-baskbl/auto_pdf/2014-15/misc_non_event/2015allbigten.pdf
  11. Yeah, he's had some success in Philly. Will be interesting to see what he can do with some talent there. Next year will be year six for him. Gotta think the next two years are big for Pat.
  12. If Norm can look ahead, I can to. Looking at some of the possible scenarios for the B1G tourney, it looks like the highest we could end up is the #7 seed, but that would involve winning out. The most likely scenario is that we end up in the 8-9 game. I'm coming up with OSU as the opponent quite a bit in that one. Finding OSU in that game would be probably the best option for NU. Michigan, MSU and Purdue are also possibilities for that one, none of which would be ideal. http://bball.notnothing.net/b10bracket.php
  13. Look at Ohio State's finish to the conference season. vs Michigan @ Nebraska vs MSU vs Iowa @ MSU Ouch...
  14. Watson might if they go two teams deep.
  15. Watch Chambers on Watson's 3 to end the first half. Half frustration, half fury, half helplessness, half disappointment. Almost felt bad for him. He's got a real tough job there in Happy Valley. Wonder how long his rope is?
  16. Mentioned on a highlight I saw that White could be in the running for Newcomer of the Year.
  17. Wingett will play D1 somewhere. I hope it's in Lincoln.
  18. Thanks, Normy. As a side note, I've been working my way through Cheers on Netflix. Big fan of yours. Also, I'll be out for Wednesday, too. Possibly OSU, too. TBD on that one.
  19. So? I'd still go if I can.
  20. Who do you see pulling something like that? Not any individual, but as an institution and a member of the mighty Big Ten, will Nebraska feel it's above a CBI berth? I think we should take any invitation we get, but I don't know the athletic department's mindset. The last time we thought NU might be inline for one, the "CBI seal" hadn't been broken. NU didn't want to be the one to do that. It has now. I don't think NU would turn it down if they were in that position. Just a guess, I could be wrong about that.
  21. Who do you see pulling something like that?
  22. I didn't get to watch the game. - The little I caught from the post game was that Ed was out, too. - According to Miles they were closer than perhaps it may have seemed. - Hammond didn't play terribly. - Fuller played 16 minutes and only scored 2 points. When you're down 2 guys in the rotation, need ya to step up bigger than that. That's about it.
  23. Win 3 of the next 4, could be doable with or without Shavon, and then let it fly vs. Purdue and NW.
  24. Looks like we're starting 3 true freshmen. When is the last time or ever that this has happened? On top of that, when was the last time we had four freshmen make at least one start in a season?
  25. I don't think we'll see the big invasion we've seen in the past when KU came to town. I think the NU ticket base is large enough now, having sold out the building for three straight years that there won't be a blue ribbon around the top of the arena. There will be more than most visiting teams, but it won't be like it used to be in the Devaney Center.
