8 team league, 40 game season. Not bad. They play in actual arenas, not gyms. They're better than some of the D-League gyms I've seen on TV. They also have a team called the Mill Rats. Gotta respect that.

I'd love to see NU make a push for the 2018 Maui Invitational. They've announced the fields out through 2017 and the '18 event would be the senior year for this freshman class. That team should be very competitive if they stay together.

As much as I'd love to have KU on our schedule again, I don't think we are anywhere on their radar to want to play NU. They would have nothing to gain and everything to lose. This is probably also why we will not see Nebraska Vs Duke or Nebraska vs North Carolina in the Big 10 ACC Challenge. Those two schools have nothing to gain and everything to lose playing us. The powers that be will make sure neither of those two school are pared with us for as long as they can. ...unless NU can get to a top 15 level. You'll see them draw those sorts of games if that happens.

Calling my shot: When Miles retires as the most successful head coach in school history, Lue will leave his NBA post, with several NBA titles and the cache of having LeBron's ear and come back to NU to continue what Miles started.

How are we/he going to finish up this year? To me he's more Ryan Anderson than he is Piatkowski. I'm not entirely sure he's ever been the best player on any of the 4 teams he's been on. He's a very good player but Mount Rushmore discussion? Not so sure. He's quite a bit more than Ryan Anderson. He's, barring injury, going to be one of the top 5 scorers in school history. If he never scored another point, he'd be #10. I love RA, but he and Shields shouldn't be in the same conversation.

Where does Shields fall into this discussion? Assuming he keeps playing well the rest of the year, and I expect he will, he's got to be in this conversation next time around, right?

Man, it'd be really great if we could move up one or two more spots, at least.

While the NU players were being introduced, get this, they were LEADING a "Go Green, Go White" cheer. While they were announcing NU players!!! Can you believe that?!? How rude!!! Also, the non-student fans weren't exactly into it. They were sitting and clapping and stuff. No standing. No standing until the first MSU bucket. Not sure most realize how good things at NU really are. - Pretty big defensive breakdown on the first play of the game. - Looked like White had a pretty clear shot at an offensive rebound on NU's first possession. - MSU got off to the fast start that NU couldn't allow. I like the time out :50 in, intensity clearly elevated after that. - Leaving shooters open probably isn't a good recipe for success. - True to form, both teams fouling quite a bit early. - I think NU is just fine letting McQuaid shoot from just about anywhere on the floor. - NU holding their own just fine early. - Shields making things happen in the paint. - NU cleaning up the glass nicely. - Watson just isn't afraid. - Playing aggressively. Something along the lines of "there's no way we should be losing to Nebraska" no doubt. Yup...basically they are a pathetic basketball team because they are losing to a lousy Nebraska team. To be fair, it's the same on our side. We've beaten Michigan State the last two three meetings, yet we still see them as Goliath.
