  1. I'm glad to see you two are in nearly complete agreement here. Exactly. Shavon can not be replaced with "one guy." He might, though. If Anton Gill is the player he was built up to be on the practice floor last season or if Roby is the dominant freshman NU can never seen to get in the program, then you may very well see him replaced with "one guy". Sports can be funny that way sometimes.
  2. The H/H matchups are really challenging, I think. The others are pretty well distributed, I think. Should be a good schedule of games at PBA, too.
  3. Odds are fairly stacked against them. It would help if Steven Adams decided to join the team. Yep. Here's the current FIBA rankings for their group. If they can get past the group stage, anything can happen. France - 5 Turkey - 8 New Zealand - 21 Canada - 26 Philippines - 28 Senegal - 31 The Arena they're playing in looks pretty sweet, though:
  4. New Zealand will play their qualifiers on July 5th and 6th. They are in Qualifying Group 2, which if they get through it, would be in the same bracket at the USA and would play them in Rio on August 12. 5. I think it was hailing, actually. Either way, it was a mess...
  6. Gata's size might cause the Niners some trouble, but I think the Niners have a lot more scoring options. That should put them over the top. If we're going 7 game series, I think they win in 6. Maybe 5.
  7. I think this year is gonna be fun. For Both Teams! Yessir!
  8. I think this year is gonna be fun.
  9. Isn't Bradley a 5th year senior? Did he graduate from Oral Roberts? No, he had one year at UNO, transfered, then just played his first season at ORU. So unless he redshirted at UNO, which I don't believe he did, he is only a junior. Jalen Bradley played at a Nebraska JUCO (Northeast Comm. College) for a year between his 1 year at Omaha and Oral Roberts. He will be a senior this upcoming season. Ah, they didn't have that on the ESPN stats.

  11. Lots of 16 and 17 year old kids to.
  12. In regular rotation? No. Closer to 8. I understand that, but to say that because Miles only plays eight guys in a regular rotation doesn't mean the tenth guy will redshirt. Right? Of course not, but it doesn't mean he shouldn't either. There's an argument either way, and I'm not saying my way is right, just that I'd be curious to see if he does.
  13. Right now, I don't envision that anyone will redshirt. We are one short in scholarship players at 12, and one of them (Palmer) has to sit out a year. When was the last time we ran a 10 man rotation? Unless Miles and Co. is going to drastically change the style of play, I doubt we see one this year. We certainly had more than ten dudes who played last year, though. Right? In regular rotation? No. Closer to 8. Watson, White, Parker, Shields, Webster, McVeigh, Jacobson and Morrow (when healthy). I don't consider guys like Fuller and Evelyn who saw a few minutes sparingly as in the rotation. I'd listen to an argument for Hammond, but he didn't play regularly either and saw decreasing minutes as the season wore on.

  15. I just wonder if, from where we stand today, a guy like Horne would consider a redshirt? Someone's gonna get caught in a numbers crunch. Maybe two guys. I know the coaches are really on Horne, but I wonder if a RS year might be a really good option for him.
  16. If Gill is as good as we've told he is, he won't be coming off the bench. You'll want him, White and Watson on the floor as much as possible. Those three should lead the team in minutes played.
  17. When will we get word on the bracket matchups for the Wooden Legacy event?
  18. I liked this from the columnist from Omaha this morning: http://www.omaha.com/huskers/blogs/tom-s-take-andrew-white-s-return-furthers-tim-miles/article_d1e93c3c-22f8-11e6-8d7d-0765178654c8.html
  19. It sounds an awful lot like the way Andrew White III has always talked since the first interview I heard with him.
  20. That's fair. It can be characterized in a number of different ways. Based on what we've seen the past couple of years, it's fair to look at this team skeptically in terms of making that next step. I think that's not an unreasonable take.
  21. Not at all...again, atleast for me it rubbed me the wrong way as the talk seemed to be more centered on around why he wouldn't pick Nebraska as opposed to some of the good reasons as to picking Nebraska. It seemed to me that, and he said this several times in the segment, that he was surprised he hadn't already withdrawn and was trying to figure out why that was the case. Didn't seem vindictive to me. Nick's in a hard spot considering he has to appear to be partial to both schools, while carrying obvious ties to CU. That's much easier said than done. Heck, hosting a one host talk show is hard enough as it is. Few can pull it off well.
  22. Well, most of the time, teams in that situation end up there. It's not a completely unreasonable take on his part. I think NU will be considerably better than that this year, but it wouldn't be completely shocking if NU ended up 8-10, would it? History would indicate it wouldn't.
  23. FWIW, I listened to the segment, he didn't advise AW to do anything one way or the other.
  24. I'd love to get that one, too...
