  1. Maybe they dont have that distinction but 13 of the 14 NBA players from Nebraska played class A ball and the other played class B. so there is that. http://www.basketball-reference.com/friv/high_schools.cgi?state=NE
  2. 3 of those players were Class B so they arent as low as you make them out to be and secondly all of those players played on well established AAU programs and showed their skills on a national stage to gain recognition and prove their worth. I'm aware of where they all went to school. I'm from Ralston myself so I'm by no means bagging on the Smith brothers or any Class A or B teams. My point was that good players do come from smaller classes as well. In football this is true as well. They don't have the numbers or depth of the bigger schools, but doesn't mean they don't have good athletes. These small town guys are not going to get a look from us and frankly I dont blame our staff. If we want to be an NCAA tournament team we need big fish from big ponds getting looks from big programs, example being Nick Fuller in this years class 25 ppg in the biggest class in Wisconsin. The Nebraska kids that get looks are gonna be 1 or 2 kids from the metro and the occasional Ellision type. If they want to play they can walk on and try to work their butt off to see the floor. The players originally listed from small schools all went and showed their worth playing competitive AAU hoops against the best players in the country. If they show they can compete at the highest HS level playing in essentially all-star games and putting up similar stats then NU and other schools will show them their justified "love" and offer. If they will not take the chance to join one of those teams then you cant compare and Miles cannot afford to take a chance on a longshot. Exactly, if they hold their own on the AAU circuit, and show they can compete in the B1G, Id have no problem with us offering. Those guys will come around every so often, but Miles knows as well as anyone its not about the x's and o's its about the jimmys and joes.

  4. Is Strickland still looking for work?
  5. I was thinking the same thing, it'd be huge for recruiting, and with Brown committing to SMU its pretty obvious our tie to Chicago is cut.
  6. Sorry if this has been discussed. And usually my posts after 1 am mean i've been at the bar. But have we found someone to replace Chin after he left for Bradley? And if not, do we go after another aau guy with connections????
  7. Long time listener, first time caller. I'm a big Nebrasketball Fan, thought I would prove my fanhood by joining the new site. Only 22 years old, so i don't remember the Huskers being in the big dance. Looking forward to chatting up Nebrasketball and that first tourney win coming in March 2014.
