Maryland ( 19-3) vs. Nebraska ( 12-10) Game Thread
huskerbaseball13 replied to Bugeaters1's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I believe it was to give the Maryland bench a "warning." Why Miles and the Nebraska bench did not get the same courtesy I don't know. And it's why I was not made to be a basketball coach at any level as if I was Miles in that instance I would have went all Barry Collier on the refs ass and thrown my water bottle across the floor. -
We had quite a few unlucky breaks last night where the ball just fell into Maryland's hands and they were under the hoop....but the biggest play to me was when we were up 54-51...got a stop, and McVeigh let the rebound go off his hands out of bounds. Maryland gets the ball back.....Benny decides to double down(why?) and leave Trimble open and he drains the three. Tie ball game 54-54. Cant pintpoint the loss on any one play but that was a big series of events IMO.

Unless we land a graduate transfer its not looking good for Miles 5th year and having an actual post presence for once. Maybe Hammond develops into that guy but not looking promising at this point. Jacobson looks like he's going to be a good player for us but he's not a true post player. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Should have brought him in on the last dead ball. The last time that Glynn came out Tim gave him an earful, so might have been in the dog house. May have been injured also I dunno...he took a hard fall. No excuse not to have him in there if he was good to go. Arguably our most clutch player IMO. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Should have brought him in on the last dead ball. We missed multiple times we could have subbed him in for offense and out for defense. Instead Miles decided to play 4 on 5 on the offensive end...very poor coaching leaving Watson on the bench. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

You go how many minutes down the stretch with one of your best offensive players sitting on the bench.....lmao, wow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Defense looks great though. It's not just Maryland playing dumb. Hitting jumpers is going to win us this game. Maryland not going to let us love the rim. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I was curious to see how some of our old recruits were doing at their respective schools and in doing my research I found out that Trey Dickerson ended up at South Dakota.

Nebraska (12-8) vs. Purdue (18-4) Game Thread

We actually did not play all that bad that half. Unfortunate last minute or so. Let their shooter get loose and did not block out Hammonds. Refs have not been too friendly for us. We just don't have an answer for their size. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Who are we playing next year from the Big 8?

I thought I heard some possible rumors in regards to a series with KSU. Would be great if it was KU or OU. -
2018 SG Aguek Arop -> San Diego St

I'd also like to know why he is a Iowa Hawkeye football fan. Representing for Noah Fant maybe? -
I watched the Georgetown game and I can't believe Creighton lost. They were in control for most of the game, got some breaks from the refs and were up 11 with under 2 min left. They melted down big time in the last 1 1/2 min. Missed free throws and turned it over. Had to be extremely frustrating to watch if you are a Jays fan. (I wouldn't know ) Some? Had I been JT a chair would have been flung across the floor. In no way shape or form should any team be rewarded for constant flopping. Good officials can see thru it....last night, those were bad officials and they essentially lost control of the game.

2018 F Ed Chang (Papillion-LaVista)

Saw Gary Sharpe tweet this morning that Chang will land at NU or out of state. Sharpe typically doesn't come off as someone who will BS. Have to like NU's chances here... -

Great night for Arop. Really unfortunate his injury set him back a bit....still making his way back but he has plenty of time before putting on the Husker jersey. His game will fit in nicely in the Big Ten IMO. -
I can understand their frustration...the game was literally gift wrapped to them via the refs and they still peed their pants down the stretch.

Looking ahead (don't get mad, bro)
huskerbaseball13 replied to Norm Peterson's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I agree. It will take a good effort but do think we can go 5-5 to finish out the conference schedule. That would put us 9-9 in conference play and 17-14 overall. Not a great overall record but with a top half finish in the Big 10, I think it would get us in the NIT. I think we will have to do better than that...I plugged us winning 4 out of our 5 home games and winning @PSU and that gives us...as of right now a RPI of 129 and SOS of 96. The lowest ranked power 5 school(per RPI) last year was Vanderbilt with an RPI of 104. 18 wins MIGHT get us in...but I think we need to get to 19. I just want to see the young guys continue to progress as we have seen the past few weeks. -
Just got back from being out of the states....needless to say I was shocked to see we had beat MSU...again. I had to double check to make sure the website was correct. I thought Mich was the most winnable game out of the last 3 but it appears we caught them on a day they were hot. We have not been great on the road but Rutgers should be a for sure win and I do think we can find a way to beat Maryland at home.
