  1. Contain Mcintosh and we win. The loss of Olah is a big one for them...especially when facing us. He has caused us trouble in the past.
  2. Any idea when he is expected into Lincoln? Hopefually the crappy weather does not impact his travels.
  3. The Grand Rapids "scenery" was probably not up to par. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. How can anyone answer that for you? If you only bought tickets thinking that NU would turn into a Big Ten/national power...then yes, maybe you should give them up. I don't get to go to as many games as I would like or as many games as I attended in the past but even when we are bad the environment for the good games and the Haymarket is fun. 6. Hopefully that second half gets the teams mind right. Start of the Big Ten schedule is very favorable for us. If we play well we should be able to win 4 of the first 6 games. Have to protect home court. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. What do you mean by this, might I ask?Are you implying the grades should be good and that those who are really disappointed with this team and coaching effort are trolls and would grade it poorly? not at all it's the fire miles he has had four years he wont get any better etc. Except....nobody has said that. Surely you have some evidence that posters on this board are calling for Miles head...right?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. What do you mean by this, might I ask?Are you implying the grades should be good and that those who are really disappointed with this team and coaching effort are trolls and would grade it poorly? Yes. Thats exactly what he's saying. If you don't drink the red kool aid...you are a troll. Have to love it! How boring would this message board be if it were full of Bugeaters1's?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Lmao! A+++++ all around or else you will cry and say everyone is calling for Miles headSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. If you think you can do better why don't you try out for the team!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Thank you Andrew White. Like the way Morrow is playing. Hopefully earning more PT come Big Ten play. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Second year in a row this is the case...at what point does Miles look in the mirror and decide maybe it's on him?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. UNO has one starter, maybe two that could start for NU, hyperbole is OWH strong suit. Thurman, Patterson and White could, in theory, all start, though Thurman plays Shields' position, in a sense. That may not be true a few years, but it is right this minute. And Hollins would play some minutes, too. Remember, Hollins and Thurman were part of the greatest HS team in state history. None of them ended up at Nebraska. Or Creighton. Or anywhere else good. Which player from Omaha Central is going to be playing in the NBA? In the context of Lee's story, trading those guys for players currently on our roster is akin to shuffling chairs on the Titanic. That...and guys like Thurman or Hollins does not cure any of our ills. Unless they grow 5-8 inches thru their college career..and only one is above the Mendoza line from deep....barely.
  14. This is correct. If we are going to get where we need to be...losing to teams like Incarnate Word and Samford are major killers. It didn't hurt us last year because we won 13 games...it likely won't hurt us this year because it's unlikely we will be dancing. But, in the next few years where expecations will be raised by most(not you)....we need to win the cupcake games. I would venture to guess Coach Miles agrees with that.
  15. We probably need to win 9-10 Big Ten games now to get into the NIT....I had us at 8-9 wins before the Samford debacle. I think that's still doable considering our Big 10 schedule is not all that difficult compared to years past.
  16. That would make sense if our team were robots. Stats would then drive 100% of decision-making. However, we're dealing with people, emotions, and whatever other "baggage" that comes with. I can't make any inferences from Miles' decisions, but other things factor into lineups such as team dynamics, etc. Who knows? Miles makes a very good living off of having to make tough decisions. IMO, this is not a tough decision. I don't know if there is a right answer but Miles needs to do what is best for the team, not what is best for Benny Parker's feelings. If Benny can't accept that(I bet he can) then next man up. We all know Benny is important piece to our defense...but, as a point guard you can't be putting up the type of numbers he is right now while playing 25 minutes a game and expect to win many games.
  17. Truth must hurt some as I got a DOWN ARROW. By all means, point out the person who stated we should fire Miles right now. I think most have said he should get a few more years and a chance to develop his most recent class....no?
  18. I think you are pretty much dead on for the most part with this post...outside of Miles being a young coach. Miles will and deserves a chance to develop the young recruits he has brought in...but, with the talent upgrade it's fair to expect better results eventually...right? Losing to Samford is a punch in the gut and surprising but the fact that this team looks good some nights and bad some nights is not so surprising. I said before the season our record will probably not be great....and that appears to be the case again, but we should see some improvement in play going forward as the freshman get more acclimated to college basketball. Miles really needs to hit some home runs on down the stretch on the recruiting trail and land a big man that will help right away and another shooter.
  19. Our record will likely be black eye for Miles this year...but I think some will feel much better about the future if this team shows improvement over the next few months and we see some of the younger guys start to develop. But, I don't think Miles should get a pass due to the youth and inexperience of this team.
  20. On #3 I don't notice it much with Coach Miles...in fact, I always that he coached pretty loose atleast from a body language and interaction with the team standpoint. What I do notice is Coach Molinari flip flopping around on th bench though. This may have little to do with the actual results on the court and may have zero trickle down effect...but, any defensive breakdown/bad shot you name it Molinari is not shy about showing his frustration. Some have brought up we miss Coach Smith....that may be true in more ways than one. I think he was an important piece inside the locker room.
  21. To play devils advocate...this is unchartered territory for Nebrasketball. We now have the facilities to compete with just about anyone....and, we have put our money where our mouth is. We spend on Nebrasketball and we pay our HC 1.5 million and he will be over 2 million in a few years. With that comes upgraded expectations IMO. If we are forced or decide to go in a different direction after the next few years thats going to be attractive to many coaches. I'm not saying Miles is not what's best for the program...I'm just saying if he can't figure it out in the next two years I think this job is alot more attractive than it was 5 years ago.
  22. I think no question Miles is upgrading the talent level within the program. But, just about every program in the Big Ten also recruits top 150 talent. Some recruit top 50 talent. I know you are not saying this, but that alone is not going to win us very many games in the Big 10. For whatever reason the past year and a half we have for the most part played un-inspired basketball and alot of times, don't look prepared.
