CBI ended on 4/1 last year so IF Miles is let go it will need to be before the CBI tournament starts. The CBI lineup was pretty terrible last year...not so bad in some previous years. Hopefully if we go that route, there is some other power 5 teams that will be joining.

Call me rude if you wish but if I buy tickets to go see the Red Hot Chili Peppers at the PBA and their music is akin to being down 16 points with four minutes to go I'm making the trek back to my car to save some time on the drive home back to Omaha. If anything, the fans should be praised for continuing to show up(14K last night) for a team that once again is going to finish at the bottom of the conference. IMO There aren't many fanbases out there that would continue to fill up their stadium with the lack of results over the past few years.

We were down 16 points with four minutes to go. More power to the people that stayed the whole time for the spanking but I can't fault anybody who left early.

If Miles is really coaching for his job...he's sure not making it hard on Eichorst. To let that team come in and dominate on the court is a pretty bad look. -

Pathetic on every level. -
Hmmmmmmmmm, when Tommy Armstrong's investigation was ongoing quite a few of the holier than thou fanbase was quick to dig his grave and throw dirt on the football program. Now, it's innocent until proven guilty and let's pray for Mo and the victim.

I don't think so. I'd guess Erstad is here for as long as he wants to be. I do think he eventually jumps to the majors. I think that level may be a better fit for him.

Just ran the RPI Wizard with NU winning out and wins against PSU/Maryland in the Tournament and a loss to Wiscy and it pegged us with a RPI of 44 and SOS 2. That would certainly make us an interesting case for the selection committee. My matchups in the tournament were based on the Big 10 generator from the front page on HHC.
-
Best case scenario that puts us at 18-15...and 17-15 in the selection committees eyes. I don't see how that gives us a 91% chance of getting an at large...but I'll take it.

The good news is Charleston and WC are at home and teams traveling from the coast usually don't fair well in Lincoln mid-march. We will always have to be aggressive in scheduling during the non-con as it gives us a fighting chance to host in the postseason. But, that really has never been a reality under Erstad thus far.
-
I read somewhere where Jerry Palm won't even consider teams in his bracketology that aren't at least three games over .500 due to the selection committee's past history in selecting teams. I think our only hope would be to win out and reach the Big 10 finals...and even then, we are iffy. Realistically, we likely will need to win the Big 10 tournament.
-
It would actually be 7. The win over Mary does not count in the eyes of the selection committee. Thus, we need to win out in the regular season and make the conference finals...or, just win the Big 10 tournament.
-
With the upcoming schedule it looks like it may be another slow start to the season.

With Shields/White last year we went 16-18(6-12). That's probably not the drum Miles wants to beat. Nor is claiming at 12-14 we are exceeding expectations. Losing Morrow this year is a viable excuse. He was probably worth 1-2 wins when he was out. But, he was also injured last year and very well could go thru the same deal the next few years.
-
Any pressure that is being felt could have been subsided by winning games. I'd imagine, just about every coach that may be coming up on three consecutive losing season is feeling some sort of pressure to win. I have never been on board with some on here that thought Miles job status was safe, right or wrong. If Eichorst had ANY thought of maybe going in a different direction after this year I don't know why he would come out in support for Miles right now only to fire him weeks from now.

Dirk, may be right...I really don't know. We aren't going to win in the Big Ten next year on talent alone. But, his opinion should not surprise anyone considering just a few months ago Dirk believed that Arop would be playing in our rotation this year.
-
Most players don't want to redshirt if they don't have to. If for some reason a change is made I would be surprised if we lost 4-5 to transfer or guys from our core group. But it is a reason for concern. Hopefully, if it comes down to it a hire would be made swiftly and it's one that the players can get on board with.

Thanks found it...he talked about some of it is mistakes, game plan mistakes...not closing out...getting lost in transition ETC. Also said compared to previous years it's a personnel difference. Less length and quickness at some spots. I'm not really sure I would agree with that, but if so...hopefully the addition of Palmer and Copeland will go a long ways in that regard.
