  1. I wouldn't let it get to you. Unless you are claiming we will be final four bound next year some will look down at you. Some prefer to keep their head in the sand....and that's fine. May be best way to go about being a Nebrasketball fan.
  2. What style is that exactly? Unless Miles lands a number of high profile 5th seniors this offseason our style will look the same. Bad basketball. Or are we talking GATA ball? That seems to have went out the window when Molinari landed in Lincoln.
  3. Maybe he's trying to crack another joke?
  4. Meh, I have a hard time caring anymore. The excuses for Miles have gone out the window. It's no longer "we are young" "we are inexperienced" "keep the core group around." He's either going to get it done next year or he's not. By this time next year, I'm sure there will be some who don't agree in regards to cutting him loose but they won't have a leg to stand on. At that point, it should be very easy to pull the plug. A very strong summer in recruiting would be nice but with the dark cloud continuing to hover over the program that's probably doubtful.
  5. This would be a dream come true but unfortunately I don't think we are that lucky. It's very interesting that Eichorst has not said a word as of yet, but I have a hard time seeing Miles going anywhere this year unless he takes another job.
  6. I agree, the talent level has been upgraded. Even though, Miles has a hard time keeping that talent around(this is an issue.) With the talent upgrade....it certainly makes it very difficult to explain the last three years and second half collapses that have occurred. Now, we have another offseason in which it looks like we will be turning the roster over again which will make it very difficult to have a good 2017-2018 season.
  7. Hoensee was nails last night. He's always had great stuff. Stout pitching and timely hits will have to be this teams MO this year. It's been working the past few weeks. Get one more this weekend and it was a successful week and we should start to see our name in the regional discussion again.
  8. He likely won't try and put a positive spin on it. We will probably hear "we are sad to see Michael go but look forward to bringing in guys who want to be Huskers and build a winning program." Something along those lines. So much for keeping Miles around to keep the "core" group intact. It's going to have to be a hell of a summer for Miles or it's going to be another LONG season for him and the fans.
  9. Calling him a bizarro Morrow is probably being pretty generous. He averaged a foul for every 5 minutes of play this past year. He's more of a Moses Abraham than he is a Ed Morrow.
  10. No, I've never spoken with Glynn. So it's not coming from the horses mouth. That's just the rumor around Lincoln and the person I got it from typically has some good information. Either way, it will have to a hell of a summer on the recruiting trail if we lose Jacobson.
  11. Not out of the woods with Glynn Watson either. If that comes to fruition the "core" group for keeping Miles around may just be Jack McVeigh.
  12. Did you get that from Boyd? If so...he admits he omits ties from his numbers. I don't think the NCAA does the same. One down, one to go this midweek. Can't really afford to lose to Omaha or Creighton this year with how bad their RPI numbers are. It's always nice to beat Crayton. For as much as they own us in basketball...we own them just as much in baseball.
  13. That's my understanding...but, I haven't been able to find any recent documentation to support that. I know that was the case many moons ago.
  14. Does his name rhyme with Swin Potson?
  15. It doesn't appear that he's their first choice but I don't understand why some would be shocked if he left for New Mexico? Sure, it's a downgrade in terms on conference and pay but it's a good job. And, I'm sure he knows he's on thin ice here going into next year.
  16. Unless something has changed...I believe a tie counts as a half-win for RPI purposes. So, it's better than nothing. Either way...we needed that series win. Hopefully Indiana can hang on and stat within the top 50 RPI. Midweek will be important this week...really need to sweep Creighton/UNO this year as their RPI numbers are about as bad as it gets. Minnesota looks like the team to beat again this year as they have started off the first two weekends with road sweeps. Pitching has been nails...now if we can get the bats going.
  17. Actually no...I said even before Miles was retained that if we couldn't fine a viable candidate I'd rather keep Miles for 17-18. And no, I wouldn't fire Erstad. He hasn't been so bad that he needs fired. I just don't think he should have ever been in the running for the job. But, I have no idea what that has to do with my original post. I'm not the AD.
  18. The results haven't been there for Husker Athletics since the turn of the century for ANY AD that sat in the North office. Of course, that's still TBD on coaches like Miles, Riley, Williams, Erstad. They haven't been canned yet.
  19. Not saying you are wrong...I just don't remember...when did Eichorst hold a press conference in the Fall of 2016 to show support of Mike Riley?
  20. I highly doubt Eichorst wants the basketball program to fail. His job would be much easier if Miles started to win games. This is right along the lines of Barry Alvarez calling the shots in Lincoln for Eichorst.
  21. I honestly don't know. He did say he would address the program after the final four...no? Why would the assistants feel secure? I think just about everybody knows Miles is likely gone next year if they don't produce. I don't know what Eichorst could say at this point to make people feel all warm and fuzzy because apparently when he does speak it's a lie anyways. I'm really curious to see what he does say though...I really don't know how I feel about the contract situation. If Eichorst extends Miles are you going to bash the decision? If he doesn't, are you going to bash him? I'm sure coaches are negatively recruiting against us. That's the name of the game it seems. I'm sure recruits also recognize how awful we have been the past three years as well. You don't think other coaches are pointing out the results on the court? I just don't buy that a recruit or current player is going to base a big decision on what Eichorst does, or does not say.
  22. The "no public statements" have proven to be false. And yes, I know, the public statements that HAS been made you believe Eichorst is lying. Which he may be...but again, damned if you do...damned if you don't type of deal. But, I feel pretty comfortable in saying that Morrow was gone regardless of what Eichorst did or didn't say. There were many rumors leading up to the end of the season of key transfers IF Miles was retained. And that wasn't because Eichorst wasn't making a statement after each blowout loss but more so due to a few players believing Miles will not fully develop them(again rumor.)
  23. I thought I last read that they feel pretty good about Copeland getting a full year next year. Hopefully that's the case. We are going to need him. I'm more concerned about finding a serviceable big now that can provide 10-15 minutes. I like the thought of reaching out to Donnal.
  24. I don't even know if there is a side. I'm not trying to argue that Eichorst>>>Osborne. Eichorst could leave tomorrow and it would do nothing for me. My original point was I'd rather risk Eichorst making the hire than remain on the current course if it comes down to it.
