  1. It’s a real shame he based his commitment to Nebraska off of an assistant coach that had virtually no chance of still being here in 3 or 4 years anyhow. Might of just been a transfer in a year or two when kenya probably woulda left anyhow. I always figured Kenya would leave once his son was done with high school anyways, turns out he just got out while the getting was good.
  2. Im not a fan of this moos guy myself. Gets way to much credit for the frost hire and apparently doesn’t know the definition of stability. Hope miles goes out and gets us another 20 win season and a tourney win then gets the hell outta dodge, goes someplace where the administration will back him instead of fluttering in the wind every off season. Loosing xavier and Kenya doesn’t make or break the program, it’s just the fact that both losses coulda been prevented pretty easily, it’s gonna be a long spring for us fans and probably an even longer winter the way things are going
  3. With all the interest he was getting as a junior it was such a boneheaded move to try n transfer high schools, plus he committed to Washington way to early IMO
  4. Quite a few it would seem, he was on track to be like a top 150ish to 200ish recruit if he stayed at papillon it looked like
  5. Can we put a restriction on him if we release him?
  6. I hope we make a run at him but he’s not a 2018 player by any means, dude hasn’t played organized ball in a year probably. I wonder what okie state sees to offer him even
  7. Had a hip issue from last spring that never quite got healed up. Sounds like that was more of the issue with him cracking the rotation this last year than it was talent. The dude played w Tatum from duke and Tyler cook from Iowa before transferring to Florida so all signs point to him being a player if healthy.
  8. Be interested to see if he grew any or put on any weight in his year off, one would think his scholarship would still be open especially if he had grown to 6’9” or more. Could be a good 4 man down the road
  9. Will be interesting to see if we get back in on him, at the time of his commitment to UW we were the supposid leader for his commitment. Was a top 300 guy, kinda screwed himself by trying to transfer high schools tho
  10. Nebraska didn’t offer him outta high school, but he had an okay list of offers. He was a top 300 guy outta high school. Would sit one to play two. Had okay high school numbers and just never really got a chance to play at USC. Would be a good use of a scholarship in my opinion.
  11. #InMilesWeTrust but I’d love to see what he’s got up his sleeve, fingers crossed the good news will start to come in waves, first sign of that is hopefully Xavier staying onboard
  12. 2018 additions are likely to be from within. More playing time for Allen and significant roles for nana and Thor. Hopefully stumble upon a JUCO or graf transfer big and see some growth from jordy
  13. I’m sure it’s due too instability but it’s a bit concerning we haven’t been tied to any transfers yet. Could have something to do with only one scholarship available but we gotta find a big guy
  14. He probably didn’t commit so much to Nebraska for hunter as to more of the recovery plan Nebraska has for his injury. Either way glad to have him, probably won’t contribute next year but should be fun to watch long term. interesting that heiman didn’t sign his LOI today even tho hunter wasn’t his head recruiter.
  15. I’m w the shower capper on this one, Hunter was very good at building relationships but his actual “coachin” is questionable at best as is the staff as the whole. Probably the only recruit I can think of that improved is Webster and I don’t know if that’s to hunters credit or another coach or to Webster himself. i didn’t realize hunter stayed here as long as he did, we should all be thankful of what he did for us while here. A lot better shape currently than we were five years ago
  16. Agreed, while they are redoing the one and done rule they should also look into not letting kids transfer until they have been at the school for two years unless the coach gets canned. It won’t fix the transfer problem but it would cut it down somewhat.
  17. Usually a school gets drug through the mud when the head coach leaves and they don’t let kids out of the LOI. Not sure how it would work if a kid wants to leave due to an assistant leaving, anyone recall this happening? They should make LOIs not a thing if they aren’t binding in my mind. On the the bright side an article that just dropped in the Lincoln journal points towards an extension being announced soon and miles has known about Kenya leaving since shortly after the last game the way it sounded so he may already have a replacement for Kenya.
  18. Didn’t follow the team in depth at that time but from how others talk he is the kinda guy I would be looking for. He was rather successful at South Dakota as the head coach. I have no clue who they would target and I saw someone else started a petino thread(lolz) but I’d like to see them make a serious run at David Padgett. He was a pretty successful college big man, has a few years as an assistant under his belt, did a pretty fine job in a messy situation as a head coach for one year, and is only 33.
  19. Hopefully we look for someone with player development skills and some game plan knowledge like inbounce plays or offensive sets. IMO recruiting can be kinda an afterthought. I’d bet it’s gonna be a mid major assistant unless we get a vote of confidence from our AD. kenya leaving isn’t the end all be all, he was a hell of a recruiter but he wasn’t the main recruiter on all our guys. I would gladly trade what he had for recruiting ability for an up n coming assistant with that kinda ability as a developer of current players
  20. Hunter did nothing wrong he’s likely getting a raise of tens of thousands of dollars if not more which any of us would take and he’s from the east coast. He may however of just screwed us with the likes of Xavier Johnson or Thomas Allen wanting out of there commitment and scholarships now. Both would be big blows. The real issue here is moos he should of extended miles as soon as Altman turned us down where @Hooper stated above happened and I totally agree w him that it did. He may hire a heck of a coach and there’s been some good names thrown around here but he gets a lot of credit for a lay up football hire that the likes of yous and mes coulda made. Maybe he wants to tear it down and start from scratch but I for one don’t wanna watch 2-3 years of a complete rebuild again similar to those first few miles years.
  21. Ya son will be a senior at Creighton Prep. Just had to sit out the first semester of his junior year after transferring. Must be a huge raise coming Kenya’s way
  22. Gonna be such a blow if cope n palmer come back but roby leaves. In all likelihood roby will receive a higher grade than both palmer and Copeland and may get late first round consideration
  23. Don’t forget free publicity, a main thing one and dones get to do is create an image or any prospect that leaves early for that matter. The G-league will do none of that not to mention the lack of development you will currently receive in the G-league. You would have to be a pretty rabid fan to even get G-league games on tv to boot
