  1. I think we've all been silently stalked for 6 years. I am creeped out and have to shower now. On a related note...I will not be crying and will be less insecure for the upcoming week as Nebraska is now ranked #25 in the AP poll!!!? https://collegebasketball.ap.org/poll
  2. Jon, is that you? And, you seriously waited 6 years to make this your first post? I mean it's cool and all calling us insecure. I admit, I am. Success has not come frequently enough for Nebrasketball for me to not be insecure about any Nebrasketball team, especially one this good. I think it's fair game to call out inconsistencies in anyone's ballot, especially a ballot from someone in our own backyard that appears to have some strange thought processes in his rankings.
  3. I'm trying to upvote this 100 times but the HHC apparently prevents that.
  4. That was without a doubt his most painful ballot submission ever. I suspect he had some admin. assistant at the OWH actually hit the send button.
  5. Understand your thought process but yikes, I would not be comfortable at all if we went 8-12 in the BIG this year. Anything below .500 in conference, especially 4 games below .500, and I think you're just begging to get left out of the tournament.
  6. Quick question if anyone knows the answer. I know the students will not be in for the CSF game. Does anyone know if Nebraska will release the student tickets to the public in the days leading up to the game? My son and I are coming in town and while you can get dirt cheap tickets in the 300 level on the secondary sites, wasn't sure if the University would put up for sale all of the unused student tickets.
  7. Seth Davis loves him some Nebrasketball. He's also an AP voter. We moved up 2 spots from last week on his ballot to #15 and this is likely a prelude to re-entering the rankings tomorrow!
  8. The OWH editing department is struggling a little bit. Either that or they let Nywatawa write the caption:
  9. Quick summary: 1. We won 2. We struggled the first 17 minutes, then proceeded to suffocate them over the final 23. 3. We are damn good 4. Allen continues to play well and develop into a consistent scorer. His defense is phenomenal. 5. Did I say we are damn good. 6. JPJ appears to have shaken out of his early season 3 point shooting slump. 7. We are a damn good basketball team and I love this team! I will be refreshing the AP and Coaches poll rankings all morning and look forward to seeing those numbers in front of our name!
  10. Pretty sure they teach it. Sometimes it just comes down to execution or a lack thereof. It seems like most games this season we have been pretty good on the glass.
  11. Another win over the Illini. We own that school. Nice comeback ladies!
  12. You will thank me for what I have found and uncovered. I googled "Mark Few Nebraska" just to see if some reddit sleuths were on the case and the only thing I could find is a reference that Few and Miles both recruited Jervay Green. So, I've pieced together how this went down. Last summer when Few was courting and meeting with Green, Moos swooped in during their conversation, and left a giant Nebraska bag on the table filled with 100 dollar bills. Moos told Few that there is another, larger bag from where that came from if he agreed to coach at Nebraska. Few declined, Moos flipped him off, and Few reported Moos to the NCAA. The NCAA and FBI wire tapped and tailed Moos across the country. They found Moos had left bags of money for many Nebrasketball recruits. I suspect Moos travels around the country recruiting for Nebraska basketball and this explains why he hasn't been to a single game...he's too busy being our money man and securing 4 and 5 star recruits. I have no sources, this is just good old fashioned brain power drawing these definitive conclusions. This makes sense to me and I can see why two people have vaguely reported shenanigans from various "sources".
  13. A high ranking source within the administration told me that Moos was at this game and disappointed in what he saw out of the program. Miles seat is much hotter now and he likely won't survive the week.
  14. Ugh, it's very early in the day to do this but if you're playing the "take a shot game" every time you hear that Tanner has "reworked or reshaped his body" then bottoms up! Hopefully no one sees me at my office tipping back my irish whiskey or the rampant rumors of me being an alcoholic will only increase. BTW, completely agree on your take on players developing.
  15. This is undoubtedly one of my three greatest life achievements. In no particular order: 1) Finding woman to marry me 2) Finding woman to birth two children that I think are mine 3) Leading the greatest message board competition of all time A close 4th is being directly quoted on Blue Jay Underground for my score prediction: Recruited Fairly - 84 Paid to Play - 75 Wish I would have given us more credit like my gut was telling me!!!
  16. We had a good run in the AP while it lasted. Fell to 26th, 3 points behind Syracuse. Coaches are still smart and left us at #25.
  17. I hope you are right. I simply do not know. It isn't like our history or reputation will keep us in. At some point the media has to be convinced this isn't the past Huskers, this is the present and future of Husker Hoops. I guess we shall see. I've looked at 4 AP ballots that have been published on line and 2 have us ranked (#17, #18) while two others have us unranked. I suspect we end up right where we were at #24. Also, the computer rankings are starting to normalize. Take a look at the Sagarin rankings now (link below). The top 10 is mostly your typical powerhouse programs and then there's us, right at #11, which is close to where the NET has us (#15). Regardless of where we end up or don't end up ranked today, we have a very, very good team. Let's enjoy it! http://sagarin.com/sports/cbsend.htm
  18. I learned tonight that basketball is harder when you can't pay players.
  19. Red Sweatshirts, Steak & Potatoes - 84 Blue Sweater Vests, Cheese & Wine - 75 OR, better yet Recruited Fairly - 84 Paid to Play - 75 9
  20. My take is that I wish we would have had an anonymous booster pony up the $100K it took to get him - the kid is a stud.
  21. That's weird...based off the reaction of some, I thought our season was effectively ended yesterday and we were about to be searching for a new coach. Maybe Ken should shake his computer until his rankings are significantly lower for us and match the expectations of the handful that are overreacting.
  22. This seems a bit premature. I agree, it was a bad night for JPJ and this really continues a trend of a very up and down campaign for him. However, I don't think we should write him or the team off. He does need to shake out of this funk and be much more consistent though. I actually think he let his defense, or the fact that Coffey was eating his lunch, zap his offensive energy. This usually goes the other way but JPJ clearly seemed to be affected by what Coffey was doing to him. Probably just a lot of frustration. One positive takeaway I'll have from the game is how much more aggressive Roby was. He was assertive and looking to score. We need an aggressive Roby to keep the defense honest and his length and quickness should allow him to take bigs off the ball and convert at the rim at a much higher percentage than he did last night. I'm ok with the 3 missed threes. At least 2 of them looked good to me and once those start falling at a reasonable clip (say 30%), he will be close to un-guardable for most teams. I think this was a very positive sign for this team and it's continued improvement going forward. With Roby hopefully continuing to be assertive, one game soon we will have Watson, Palmer, Copeland, and Roby all firing at the same time and it will be beautiful to watch. Hopefully Saturday!
  23. I will admit that I am close to a Miles apologist. There are certain things here I agree with. Yes, our transition defense was atrocious all night and yes, I don't think we challenged at the rim like we could have. It would have been nice if someone was willing to take a charge tonight. I can understand the frustration with Miles. I would have loved us to use a timeout or two to settle the guys down at any point from the six minute to three or four minute mark. Palmer didn't bring it tonight, that's not all on Miles. He is a senior. However, I don't get why Miles didn't help Palmer. Switch defenses, bring him help when Coffey catches the ball. Do something! Doing nothing and expecting a different result saddled us with a loss. I put that on Miles but I certainly won't bail on him or the team . There is a lot of basketball left in the year and better days are ahead, specifically on Saturday. Let's shelve the fire Miles talk and support the team!
  24. I can't for the life of me figure out why we didn't change up defenses. Minnesota has struggled against the zone but if you are afraid Coffey is going to dribble through it, stay in man and run another guy at him when he catches the ball. Make someone else beat you!
