Great news in that if you put all three together, we have someone that can shoot the ball from six feet away!!!

You clearly are speaking to others on here so I won't personally take offense. Let me refresh for you and everyone else as to the brilliance of my preseason predictions: I predicted us to win 24 games, including 10 in the nonconference, making the Sweet 16 and then the University erecting a statue of Miles. As you can see, I completely nailed that non-conference piece. Now, you may suggest that I was wrong about us winning 24 games this year, making the sweet 16 and the statue of Miles. However, I will contend that I'm actually pretty close to being right on all predictions, with the exception of the sweet 16. We will beat Iowa, win 5 in a row in the Big Tourney, and make a run to the elite 8: 15+1+5+3 = 24. I not only know a lot, I'm also good at math. This thread will be deleted on March 29th after we give Miles the standard Iowa "coach for life" contract.

Whew, the removal of Lue gets us a step closer to everyone's goal on this thread in retaining Miles. Disclaimer - the statement above was not written to incite anger, bring about the use of pitchforks, or cause anyone to question my intelligence. My intelligence is questioned daily from my wife so no need to have anyone else pile on here. The statement should be considered a joke.

Of course you don't fire him, don't be ridiculous! You obviously give him a one year extension to make sure it wasn't a fluke! ? -
Oh, and not to be overlooked is that Michigan is coming off a loss against Michigan St. yesterday so I suspect they will be locked in on Thursday. No, this will likely not be fun! I would suggest keeping the women and children away from the TV on Thursday night. Kidding, well, sort of. ?

HHCC Game #28 - vs. Purdue (Feb. 23, 1:00 PM CST)

Neither - I suspect "ocean" was code for going to Lake Mcconaughy, which is the closest thing to an Ocean in Nebraska, and where he is secretly meeting with Moos to finalize a deal. This is the same script as the "clandestine" meeting in Philadelphia when Moos basically came to terms with Frost. Please note that I have no "sources" that this is occurring, only a very logical assumption that ocean means Lake Mcconaughy and that Hoiberg is about to be our next coach.

I think you nailed it. From listening to Kent a lot before and after games, I get the sense he is a big Miles supporter and I suspect he is frustrated by the lack of commitment the last two Ad's have shown Miles in regards to his contract and how that has impacted the team. This has been debated for 30 pages on another thread so no need to have that debate here. This is just my humble opinion on it and Kent has earned the right to voice any opinion he has on Nebrasketball however he wants to air it. -
2018-19 Husker opponents
Nebrasketball1979 replied to AuroranHusker's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
lol holy cow, I assumed they lost. well, break then counterbreak. Okay, so they'll probably be relieved instead. Much better. I still expect a curbstomping, but man, even we haven't lost to a team we held under 50. Two observations: 1) Penn St. scored 95 last night while Purdue & Indiana combined to score 94. That's sad on a variety of levels for multiple teams. 2) "Even we haven't lost to a team we held under 50". Be careful here...that sounds like a challenge this team might be willing to embrace and meet!!! -
Rolling Down the Rock Bottom!

I wouldn't underestimate a team who appears willing to continue to dig farther down. We have shown remarkable resilience on this front. -

Yes!!! If you had "use a timeout way too late" on your bingo card, cross it off! -

With this mauling, at least Penn State's NET ranking should be safely in Q1 territory the rest of the year? -

Man, this feels like a really pivotal game for our tourney chances. Not because a loss is all that damaging, but when you compare it to the 4 we have after this, this game sure feels like the easiest of the bunch. It's one thing to beat a couple of average to below average teams at home, it's another for this reinvented team to go prove it on the road. This is a "prove it" game for me to see if we really have turned a corner and have a chance to at least split our last 4 games. Despite losing by 19 at Purdue, I felt we competed much better in that game and you could see the signs of a team starting to come together and learn how to compete with the remaining collection of talent. We followed that up with a couple of nice and what should be expected wins. It's time to take this show on the road and see how legitimate this teams tourney chances are. I think that legitimacy begins tonight. GBR! -
Interesting thought but I think you prepare to win every single game. These are college kids and you never know when you run into a team whose star player is distracted by girlfriend issues, etc. What I remember from Mich. St is that it wasn't Ward who killed us but it was Winston owning Watson. If that script doesn't change, I'm not sure it matters who Michigan State is without as it seems like they go as Winston goes and we go as Watson goes. Also, Michigan doesn't appear to be firing on all cylinders at the moment, so who knows, maybe we can pick one off from them. Also, just noticed that Michigan plays Michigan St. a few days before our game with them so hopefully they beat Mich. St in a thriller and have a bit of an emotional let down against us!
-
Yes, that's possible and it wouldn't surprise me if he gets more run tonight. If Watkins becomes an issue, we can certainly negate him by swapping Borchardt for Harris and putting Roby on him until Chambers is forced to sub him out. Keep in mind that Watkins only played 15 minutes and 19 minutes respectively in the two previous games to their Purdue loss, which makes it 4 out of 5 he has played less than 20 minutes so I do think there is something amiss with him and Chambers and the team.
-
He has been relegated to the bench and played 12 minutes against Purdue in PSU's last game and 15 minutes against Michigan the game before that. He sounds like a head case but I fully expect him to come out tonight and hit a three since he hasn't made one his entire career.
