  1. Of course we win a game. Kate Upton also divorces Justin Verlander and she is sitting next to you while you watch. Duh....How can you not see this playing out this way?
  2. Did that come off a fortune cookie!? ? Completely agree by the way.
  3. The team in the first half can compete and win games down the stretch to finish the season. Tonight will be a tough one to pull out but the intensity, effort and most importantly the shot making can carry this team to several wins. If this version of Nebraska would have shown up against Illinois, Rutgers, Maryland, etc, the situation wouldn't be so dire.
  4. Absolutely love the fight. This team hasn't quit. Just got to keep fighting and grinding and give yourself a chance in the final 10 minutes.
  5. I believe the answer you are looking for is Kent Pavelka...he has called over 1,000 games and we have 0 tournament wins to show for it. His play by play calls have clearly not willed enough shots to go through the hoop.
  6. If we could sell each of our remaining 3 timeouts for 5 points, we would be in overtime right now. I did well at Math in 3rd grade and I could coach a college team and not use a timeout in the second half of a game as well. I guess I have many talents.
  7. Solid start but I personally feel like I am falling back into bad Nebrasketball watching habits from the 2000's in hoping we survive each 4 minute segment until the next timeout.
  8. Thor starting, Allen coming off bench. Hopefully Thor can provide a spark and Borchardt keeps doing what he does. Never would have thought I would have uttered that last sentence this season! GBR!
  9. Going against logic and sound reason and blindly hoping to see proof of life tonight... Huskers - 69 Terps - 67
  10. Wait, is there something wrong with doing this? Asking for a friend...?
  11. Well, I guess at this point I thought everyone was basically on the same page with what happened during the Collier/Sadler eras. Our talent was nowhere good enough to compete consistently during that decade. I certainly am not trying to personally insult either one of them, just stating what is my opinion and that I prefer not to go backwards talent wise. And I agree that Miles has much better talent but he has and is currently struggling getting the most out of it. I also cannot disagree with your comment about results being the same as the win/loss records, NCAA tournament success, etc. will not be much different if this season doesn't turn around in a hurry. I guess the bottom line for me is that if we have to make a coaching change, find me someone that can both recruit and coach up/elevate the players in this program. I always thought Sadler was a good X's and O's coach and Miles has proven to be a very capable recruiter - whether through traditional recruiting or the transfer market. If Miles is gone, lets try to find someone that can do both but not pretend that we may find someone who is like Sadler/Collier and can coach well but can't recruit the talent necessary to win. Again, this season isn't over yet so I don't think or hope this chapter in Nebrasketball history is fully written yet!
  12. I will go down with the ship because I bleed red and am a fan. I won't have revisionist history here. I expected a special year and have been very disappointed in the last several weeks. If the season doesn't turn around, then I will reluctantly be on board for a coaching change despite how much I like Miles and how I feel he has elevated this program. Make no mistake, Nebraska is better off now then we were when Miles took over. However, for all of you that are adament we fire Miles, just be careful what you wish for. There is no guarantee of a home run hire...we could have another 10 years of Collier/Sadler and our talent base could drop off considerably. Which, by the way, Sadler was a great guy and like @hskr4life said, that termination press conference was brutal to watch. Really hope we beat Maryland, get on a little roll and not have to watch Miles go through something similar.
  13. It's definitely a tough choice weighing what you want to happen against what you know is the more likely reality. Agree with all of this...I've missed the winner in the last 5 games (anyone see a common trend here!?!?) and now I need to decide if I want to continue to go down with the sinking ship or continue to use my heart to make these predictions! I'm sure Maryland has gotten smaller and lost size since the last time we played them and we can't possibly continue to play this horrid and shoot this poorly, correct?!!
  14. It appeared like we were heading down some really weird path where some were advocating for the removal of the PBA security, DJ, cheer squad, dance squad, etc. I can have some fun with this and I guess if we are going full rebuild and scorched earth, someone should probably stick a large needle in Lil' Red so we can start over there as well. I mean, he is never angry, even when we are losing, and that's just not a good look. Did anyone see him hopping around, looking all happy, when Wisconsin was putting us away in the second half? Unacceptable! If we're completely cleaning house, my vote is to start with Lil' Red!!!!!!!!!! The irony in all these conversations will be if the team turns around their season over the last 10 regular season games. The effort last night gives me hope. Lets not burn it down quite yet!
  15. I wish you got half credit, or one point, for missed lay ups. Sigh.
  16. For sure but this really needs to translate into a win to give this team confidence. Let's finish one!
  17. Don't write the obituary and bury us yet!!!!
  18. Feels like the Sadler/Collier eras...if we can just get to half down less than 10, one good run in the second half and we can steal this thing!
  19. I am sad. That is all I have to contribute right now.
  20. Not sure I have seen him take a shot outside of 1 foot from the basket, so feels logical for the duration of this year!!!!
  21. Is it inappropriate to say that I hope we play so well tonight that Moos partakes in a celebratory drink or two? Perhaps this is too soon but I am personally fine with winning and dealing with any fallout from excessive celebration.
  22. This is an extremely fascinating game for a lot of reasons. Lost in all of the "fire Miles" and "who will be our next coach" talk is the fact that there is still a lot in front of this team this season. I know its easy to assume that his team is going down the all too familiar path of having another season spiral down the toilet. But, lets not forget that despite losing 5 of 7, this team is still ranked #17 in Kenpom and #24 in the NET rankings. A win tonight, which is certainly not unrealistic, pushes us likely to around #15 in Kenpom and around 20th in the NET. Win and we're likely being projected around a 6 or 7 seed in most brackets. Despite a long history that points to the contrary and despite losing Copeland for the year, this can still be a special season. Teams slump, players slump. Teams lose star players all the time. Lets see what fight and rally this team has in it before we completely bury the 2018-2019 season. GBR!
