  1. This team's accomplishments are simply remarkable. Amazing stuff going on with this group.
  2. Stallworth
  3. Took in the Lincoln East-Omaha Burke game last night. Watched Shereef Mitchell of Burke. Really good player. Quick. Good court vision while facing some junk defense. Soft touch on free throws (6-6). However, I didn't see a Power 5 body. Not sure he would be able to handle the physicality at that level. Didn't appear to have the body type to put on weight or get much bigger. Just an amateur analysis. Palmer, Allen, and Atenken strolled in during the second quarter and watched the rest of the game.
  4. Classic Norm post, complete with an MF bomb! As long as we're generalizing (young people), there is another group that tends to apply to these arguments--those who think we can hire anyone out there as long as we're willing to pay them enough. This group assumes anyone can be bought. In reality, none of the big, I've proven this for years, can't miss names are coming here for any amount of money. They already make so much more than they and their descendants could ever spend, they're not going to take a job that is still thought to be a career-killer at a place that is hard as hell to recruit to. So those who are saying "I don't want to fire Miles unless we get Bill Self, Izzo, Coach K, Altman, etc." should just conclude "don't fire Miles". Anyone we get will be a lateral or step up guy, which will have the usual risk. And I get how some are willing to take that chance, in case we strike oil, and others are reluctant and worried that we get someone who won't be able to recruit as well as Miles. I have vacillated some myself.
  5. Supposedly Miles is watching Chucky Hepburn tonight (Bellevue West at LSW).
  6. Crap, Jimmy, I'm doomed. What the hell were we talking about?
  7. Exactly. If we don't win, this will all be wasted energy and angst. If we do, it will take care of itself. We have some tough games left. At Minny and at Illinois won't be cakewalks. And I was impressed with Penn State last night; there is a lot of talent on that team and while it has not played well historically in Lincoln, I see that as a tough game. Personally I'm more worried about winning the damn games than I am about talking heads like Lunardi.
  8. Sorry, Norm, but you really leave me no choice: That's what she said.
  9. Yeah, got exhausted shooting free throws
  10. This team can really scuffle out there. I mean play some bad basketball. But they never quit. Very resilient bunch. Lots of examples but this game and PSU are a couple of illustrations. Lots of games where we have some really bad minutes or go scoreless, yet they don't get rattled and storm back.
  11. We make throws, they miss a bunch. Saved our bacon.
  12. Nice work, Cip. Hopefully we'll have a "Brand New Key" to winning in Madison.
  13. Well, maybe only one nut for that.
  14. Yeah, pretty much all of this. I commend to you the home game that year against Western Carolina.
  15. What happened was Danny gamed it. They knew Cookie needed surgery. So they played him the maximum amount of games he could play in and still take a medical hardship. So yes, he was tough as hell, but he only played 7-8 games before they shut him down to save a year.
  16. Too bad Runza was closed. Would have solved all of your problems in the world.
  17. 9-10 from the line from this group. I like that stat.
  18. Night and day change in Roby second half. Wonder if he got challenged at halftime; would have been fun to have been a fly on the wall. Sequence where Copeland got the offensive board and Glynn drove hoop as the clock ran down was enormous. Friggin' enormous. Evan still struggling mightily. Gill's shooting back to historical numbers. Hope he isn't wearing down since he didn't have an offseason.
  19. Sure Sam, we paid her $1.9 million dollars for her to choose not to coach. Maybe I'll go with Pettit and HHC on this one.
