If schools in Kansas can be good at basketball why can't Nebraska?

Differently. -

Oh, I see. Riley gets credit for being so bad that he opened the door for the next coach to come here. Ok. That makes sense. -

Nice revisionist history, Sam. The program was a mess in the fall of 2017 as well. It was more than just a "bad fit". There was no accountability or discipline in the program from the get go in the Riley era. Strength and conditioning was a joke. Player development was non-existent. The Oline coach may have been the worst position coach in the history of the program. We gave up 54 to Minnesota, which didn't score another point in its final two games. Put all the lipstick you want on that pig, but we were a sorry, pitiful excuse for a football program in November, 2017. You can "shrug" the horrible hire by Eichorst all you want, but had the powers that be not acted decisively in the fall of 2017, we may have never recovered. I agree the program is now not in bad shape. We have seen dramatic, decisive leadership completely changing everything that was going on. The mess was addressed. -
What would be a surprise is if we played the game of baseball well. How the hell can a team have a bunch of players who can't lay down a bunt, or field a bunt, at this level?
-
This will be Phil Beckneresqe. Perhaps Beckner light. ??
-
Was hoping someone got it! ??

Firing him the slow way. Death by bonga bonga

Kind of a "Mr. Obvious" moment. We just lost our top recruiter and longest-serving assistant. Still no word from the AD on Miles' contract. Not exactly a good environment for recruiting top transfers.
-
Let's just say I have seen Norm hoop. And he is definitely Caucasian.
-
FWIW, Bria would be a 4th year junior. No clue on her graduation status but it would be surprising if she graduated in 3 years. Only Woody does that!
-
Anyone who thinks this coach will not be African American is, well, not realistic. (I realize I just cut down my own "hire Norm" post).
-
Norm. Really knows shooting. Would use a mean semi-colon in any prepared statements. Tolerates no knees bending the wrong way. Would take the job.
-
Devaney was pretty damn good as an AD. Hired a lot of really good coaches., and one who is in GOAT discussions. The job eventually morphed to require bean-counting, human resources, and all sorts of administrative stuff, but the Bobfather had a bunch of people skills and good instincts. He served us well for many a year.
-
I wouldn't assume that........
-
Yes, there will be. Nothing too surprising.
-
They are incapable of that. So Scott might as well get his. Bad at bats today with runners on base.
-
As an Addendum: our DH today is hitting .143. We don't have many choices.

Have to disagree, with position players. Sure, you can't lose 5 arms and not have it affect pitching success. We would have several more wins but for the rash of injuries. But with position players, we are not talented top to bottom. We have perhaps 3 "dudes". We have some average guys. And every game we are putting a couple of guys out there who don't belong. This is one of the poorest defensive teams I have seen. We can't field a bunt, for crying out loud. Some of it could be confidence, but so to poor recruiting, we are playing defensive liabilities each and every game. Huge numbers of strike outs. Nothing to go to--little power, little speed, poor bunting team. No, this isn't a very talented team, top to bottom. It goes way deeper than confidence.
-
Yep. Needs to get some players. May be the least talented team, and I go back to the Tony Sharpe era
-
Since we seem to have gone from groups to individuals, it's hard to leave out Boz Scaggs. If you couldn't make Silk Degrees work for you, you had no game.

1. REO Speewagon 2. REO Speedwagon 3. REO Speedwagon

Now I feel a little better, Cip. I have heard of all of those except Kinks. Good groups. Agree on old J-5 stuff. That listing brings back memories of being young and drunk. Now I'm just drunk.
-
Wow am I dead and gone. I have heard of 2 of those. I thought The Replacements was a movie.

Jimmy, since you are retired, I nominate you to be that "someone". -
Kind of a big assumption. Which means these early predictions are an utter waste of time. if I want to get excited, I guess I'll go for a sure thing and hook up the porn channel.
