  1. One more year vs. one more shot. Let's not pretend he has a shot. Plus, the choices weren't between firing him now and trying us up for 6 years.
  2. Yeah, he never gets tossed. But he has a lot of mystical sayings about the game
  3. How did I do, B-Town?
  4. Well, Nana is gone also, but I wouldn't call that a big band aid rip off.
  5. Then if he's not going to fire him he should have extended him and provided public support in timely fashion. Had Eichorst extended him in either of the previous years, and provided any public support, Moos could have bought time. But not under the existing circumstances
  6. It's combination of the last two years of Eichorst and now Moos. You can't do this 3 years in a row. You can get away with one, maybe two. But not 3. If is all on Miles and he's not your guy, then have the balls to fire him. This is guaranteed failure. Name a good assistant that would sign on to this now?
  7. I'm no Barry fan, but that was all Pedey shine. Barry just didn't wait around to be fired on Pedey's time frame. The whole world knew what was going on there. Have you ever tried to succeed in a job where your boss was against you?
  8. 3 years of no support from the department. No one can survive that. It's been obvious for a month that this isn't going to end well, whether it is this month or the end of next season. Either support your coach or make a change. This is 2013 in football. No one learns. We'll be starting over from rock bottom once again.
  9. Here's even better solution: in my chair at home, whiskey bottle primed. No driving or getting kicked out of Barry's. Just the dog and me. And the whiskey.
  10. Gross mismanagement of the basketball program for 3 years. We will have to bottom out again and hope to get lucky with a hire. In other words, where we have been for 20 years.
  11. Norm, I appreciate the attemt to change the subject from how my alma mater is handling the basketball program! But I refuse to be cheered up or distracted from my angst!
  12. That's the quality of applicant this job will attract.
  13. I believe we can; not positive.
  14. Oh my. You must have watched a different guy. Now, he may start because the University abandoned the basketball program and we don't have any players left, but that doesnt' mean he's legit.
  15. I would hope we wouldn't release him to Uconn.......
  16. Just hearing things aren't good. Hope it's wrong, obviously
  17. A very classs announcement of departure by the young man; I would embed his tweet if I wasn't grotesquely incompetent. Good luck, Patrick.
  18. I fully expect Miles to save the Xavier situation in the home visit. He's a decent closer. EDIT: I may have spoken too soon. In a weird fit of optimism, which is not my nature. That'll teach me to forget this is Nebraska basketball. Carry on.
  19. Always possible someone else goes as well.....one wing in particular wouldn't shock me.
  20. He had a lot of them. Good first post, and welcome.
  21. Oh, I see. Riley gets credit for being so bad that he opened the door for the next coach to come here. Ok. That makes sense.
  22. Nice revisionist history, Sam. The program was a mess in the fall of 2017 as well. It was more than just a "bad fit". There was no accountability or discipline in the program from the get go in the Riley era. Strength and conditioning was a joke. Player development was non-existent. The Oline coach may have been the worst position coach in the history of the program. We gave up 54 to Minnesota, which didn't score another point in its final two games. Put all the lipstick you want on that pig, but we were a sorry, pitiful excuse for a football program in November, 2017. You can "shrug" the horrible hire by Eichorst all you want, but had the powers that be not acted decisively in the fall of 2017, we may have never recovered. I agree the program is now not in bad shape. We have seen dramatic, decisive leadership completely changing everything that was going on. The mess was addressed.
  23. What would be a surprise is if we played the game of baseball well. How the hell can a team have a bunch of players who can't lay down a bunt, or field a bunt, at this level?
  24. This will be Phil Beckneresqe. Perhaps Beckner light. ??
