I get what you're saying, and generally agree. But another way of looking at it is Moos should be doing whatever Scott Frost tells him to do! ??

I go to every game. Have only missed a few since 1978, although I can't hold a candle to HuskerPapa. Anyway, I think the above post overstates what went down at Wednesday's game. For an extremely cold, early tip-off weekday game in the midst of a huge losing steak, it was still a decent crowd. I heard very little booing that wasn't directed at the officials (yeah, I'm old and might be deaf), catcalls, and when I left AFTER the game there was still a huge crowd at the escalators. I'm sure some think my observations are wrong, but I was there and that's what I saw. As a fan base we're not perfect, but I think there are those who are hyper-critical.

The thread I responded too mentioned football, as did the initial post on the thread. Many of the posts were just general posts expressing disdain for Nebraska fans generally.
-
And, per much of this thread, the insiders.
-
Yeah, we just sold 80,000 tickets in 24 hours for a scrimmage by a team that has gone 4-8 in back to back years. We sure do suck and there are a lot of much better fan bases doing that.
-
And, perhaps the original poster doesn't give the fans enough credit. Perhaps they were booing the gross inconsistency between allowing Fernando to stomp, prance around and utter two primal screams, and no T, when Copeland got a T for just staring at Haas after he dunked on him.

HHCC Game #23 - vs. Maryland (Feb. 6, 6:00 PM CST)

NU 69 MD 66 When all else has failed, go with the 'ol 69. -
I think Twitter skews. The politics on it right now are so extreme and I can't escape from it. So i may give it up. Anyway, I actually talk to many, many hoops fans, in these antiquated things called verbal conversations (that used to be redundant but not anymore). I'm not hearing much angst at all.

I don't see any of this. First of all, I don't see the analogy to the end of the Pelini era, which was at least as much about attitude, image and behavior as it was about winning. I suppose the only connection could be the lack of support from the ADs. I see it closer to the how the Riley era ended--a whole bunch of losses on the court/field and not many problems outside of that. Not sure where you're getting some big fracture or side-taking. If we keep losing, there won't be a "significant portion" of the fan base very vocal in opposition to moving on from Miles. Certainly around the athletic community in Lincoln right now there is frustration and disappointment, but not much dissent. Certainly a feeling of inevitability rather than protest. Now, your scenario could play out if we rally somewhat but not enough to save Miles. Say we win 5 or 6 and that isn't enough. Then there will be more division out there, but it's as likely we win 0-2 and this thing goes down without a whole lot of dissension. I think it is likely that moving on from Miles won't be a major source of "fracture". The issue will be in the new hire. That one ain't gonna be easy.

I agree it sounds far-fetched, and my memory is he went home to Illinois his first summer. But one never knows how much summer school they are taking, and I heard some rumblings a couple of weeks ago. Nothing solid.

Now we're "exclamation point guy!" Always a good addition to a really cogent post!!
-
Is there no chance he will graduate?
-
He was no doubt on his way to the Pro-Am at Pebble Beach this week. Cable Guy will be playing in it again with a big Husker hoops fan on his bag.
-
Yeah, , but tomorrow we'll be sober. And you'll still be, well, dumb as hell.

I have not been beating any of those drums about which you speak. Perhaps you should go back and read the posts after the Rutgers game. But this is about those who show up after it's over claiming how "right" and brilliant they were all along. Go ahead and be that douche, it's pretty obvious. Pile on and dance on graves so we can be reminded of your brilliance.
-
So where were you last year when won 22 and went 13-5 in league? That's the point, not your ultimate opinion that Miles should be fired. Easy to come on here now and dance on people's graves and gloat about your brilliance. Anyway, thanks for the news flash that Hoiberg isn't coming here. Wow. Brilliant. No one has posted that over the last month. What insight. Thank god for all of your inside connections or we wouldn't know that, Mr. Obvious. Next thing you'll tell us is that Lue and Altman aren't coming here.

Well if you actually attended the University you should be more pissed because you didn't get competent instruction in basic English. Referring to your posts above more than this one.

IU scoring at will right now; need to amp up that D in the second half.

uneblinstu's post game chatter: Vol 11; ed 22- Illinois
HB replied to Bugeaters1's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I think "quit" is an oversimplification. My take is we wilted under the weight of rare high expectations. Really took a toll on this group and you could see 3 weeks ago things were drastically wrong and no fun was being had. At this point, unfortunately, it reminds me of 2017 football. Everyone knows how it's going to end, but we have to play out the string and it is really hard to watch it unfold. We were in deep trouble before the Copeland injury, but now we're rolling out only 4-5 legitimate Big 12 players (and at least 2 of those are in horrible slumps), and that isn't enough. I think they're still trying, in the abstract, but it's a mess. -
Actually, his problem was he couldn't guard anyone. Not sure what you were watching.

This way was more fun. ? ?
