  1. WOW..... Not the best week for Husker athletics
  2. Is our defensive identity dictating our offense? With the exception of Moses, we have a roster built to run. Are we not running more because we believe that at the end of the day our best option is to run our set offense or because we don't want to potentially hurt our defense? Rebounding is more likely dictating our offense. Hard to run when you can't rebound.
  3. It has been reported that he has a toe injury (has been described as "turf toe"). With all the cutting in basketball, I would think that a chronic toe injury could have a significant effect. Also, just because people get excited based on recruiting hype doesn't mean someone is ready to contribute at this level. Hard to give him minutes at the wing with Terran and Shavon at those spots, and he may be a big defensive liability there. And the stretch 4 thing may be a reach at his size. In any event, one would think the coaches know based on practice who should be playing, and if Fuller was ready to contribute, he would have gotten a chance. Perhaps if he gets healthier he will still get that chance. But from what I can tell no one can report on him doing anything while here; most of the mention is based on recruiting hype which doesn't mean squat. There probably was a reason Wisconsin didn't offer, and we were arguably his best offer.
  4. Of course, that assumes Leslie comes back at pretty close to full speed. I am concerned that even in coming back so quick from ACL surgery that his athleticism won't be nearly what it was before the injury and more time front he surgery. It's one thing to play, but it's another to be yourself this quickly.
  5. Credit to Creighton for playing great. As for us, it has been apparent for awhile that we have issues. Not enough shooters, poor rebounding. Walt totally AWOL. Mentioned this after FSU and caught some crap for it, but it's been pretty obvious. Was hoping Tai came back a better shooter but it's obvious that's not the case. Long way to go to become a NCAA tournament team.
  6. Accurate observation. We needed a stop down the stretch and Dingman just blew him up. Hope it was the hammy.
  7. I was there, and thought the crowd was mediocre at best. Not really an excuse that the team struggled. Crowd could have, and should have, been way better.
  8. True, unfortunately, with no depth yet, he has to play. And Tarin got absolutely owned on the defensive end tonight, so that's not a ready solution yet either.
  9. Whats up with Smith? Yori or Matt made mention that she hurt again. Anyone here what is about. May be time to consider a medical hardship on her. Too late for a straight redshirt due to the few minutes (3) in the Northern Colorado game.

    KU-Florida

Good question, I have been asking that for like ever. They are very hard to get. Most teams don't have them. They are few and far between, and the big dogs gobble them up.
  11. thanks, Bugeater. Much appreciated.I will watch the first half before I head to the Railyard to prime for the men's game.
  12. Any word that his toe problem is improved?
  13. Am I correct that we can't get this game on local cable?
  14. + 1 on the picture
  15. Sorry in advance for "place-dropping" (Despite occasionally getting lucky, I am fully aware that I am still a douche at the end of the day), but I had an opportunity to go to the KU-Florida game in Lawrence Friday night. 3rd row seats behind the Florida bench. Excellent vantage point for the game and Donovan. Some Observations: --Donovan was pretty calm. Intense but calm. Smaller dude than I would have expected. Oozed "I am pretty cool and have some game". --KU is EXTREMELY proud of its tickets: $125 for most, $100 nosebleeds. Seriously. That is double the price of a Husker football game (don't go there). $4.50 for a bottle of water. I realize KU has to get the money from basketball, but those prices are unbelievable. $250 a game for a couple to attend? $200 a game for the bad seats? That is a serious financial commitment. --Atmosphere is unbelievable. Wisconsin game x 2; normal Husker game x 10. Decibel meter on the scoreboard to gauge the noise. Student section brings it. I wish our student section could take in a game there. Not bagging on them at all, but they could learn some things from them, and I mean that positively. Hard to describe how incredible it is in that place, especially pregame. --KU female "talent" is also ridiculous. We are way behind in that department. Simply amazing. Norm, you would have been impressed. --I didn't see wings on either team as good as what we have. The glaring difference is in the bigs. Guys with size who are also incredibly athletic. Walt was wise to transfer. Don't think he would be getting a lot of minutes. KU's big frosh Cliff Alexander looks like he has some room to improve his body, but what a lump of clay to work with. Great stroke, went 8-8 from the line. Guards for both teams are SO quick. Ankle-breaking moves. Different level of hoops in this game; the talent difference with us is still pretty glaring. Except at the wings; I believe both Shavon and Terran would be getting major minutes at both places. No one else. --Florida led by 15 at half and it could have been more. It didn't feel like there was any way KU would come back, and they not only did that, they won comfortably down the stretch. Great to see another place with 2 quality teams going at it.
  16. I don't think raising questions about the trajectory of the OSU program in recent years constitutes not giving the guy a chance. AIl I know is I will give him a chance, and continue to support the program. I am actually optimistic, at least in the short term. We have a lot of talent in the system, a very stout front 4 returning, and as long as Riley doesn't pull a Callahan and sacrifice a couple of years to push some square pegs-round holes (and there is no reason to think Riley has Callahan's arrogance in that regard, plus his age should prevent that) we should do well. Riley's age may actually help in this regard. I will be watching the staff selection and early efforts at recruiting, both of which could address some longer term concerns. GBR.
  17. Grand ideas, Jimmy. Just grand!
  18. I think I saw a picture of that longer leg on the internet.....
  19. Classic tweet by Brandon Reilly tonight advising coach to lock his bike up if he rides it to work. Now that's some funny stuff right there.
  20. Kissinger averaging 10 minutes a game, 2 points, 1 board. 2-15 from 3
  21. I would be very opposed to that. Not national anthem decorum at all. If Jayfan wants to disrespect that, I guess that is Jayfan's business, but it should not be emulated.
  22. Connie does have long and hard practices. I wonder if some adjustments will have to be made--3 stress reactions in a year is a lot. Anyway, Chandler suited up last night but never had her warmup off. She played in the first half of the Northern Colorado game; Connie described her as "rusty". Hopefully she is healthy and ready to get practice reps so Connie is comfortable giving her minutes.
  23. Sounds like Ed Orgeron may be coming to NU...there is your recruiter. He would be a huge get. We're just a press conference with the media gushing about Riley "Winning it" from completing the Tim Miles hiring script Yep. The OWH of course has already started it....
  24. Sounds like Ed Orgeron may be coming to NU...there is your recruiter. He would be a huge get. Would improve my immediate outlook. Staff decisions will be huge
