  1. I am going to say this though. If we are going to run and run and run, Jess is going to have to get in better shape, she is toooo slow and her endurance is questionable. There were times this year that she could have played better but was too tired to do so at a high level. I have said for years we have a lot of plodders. Teams that gave Nebraska fits were long and quick. We've had some players who can run. Hounds like Vonnie Turner and Tee. And long players who can run the floor like Cady and Page.
  2. The last they spoke was the day of her hiring press conference? That's only a few days before Natalie asked for a transfer. Wouldn't emotions still be running high that day? What would it hurt if the coach kept in contact with her to see just where she stands periodically? Some kids are really shy the way it is especially in a situation like this and contacting the new staff may be very uncomfortable to them. I would think with someone of Natalie's stature, Coach Amy would at least show her some kind of interest in wanting her to continue playing here by keeping the communication between player and new coach open. I'll be very disappointed if what these two discussed on April 12th is what the coach deemed was the final say! Very troubling
  3. Well, SP did all but tell Barry to leave. He didn't extend his contract, the death knell of a coach, while he waited for the right timing to get Majerus on board. But Barry thwarted it by departing in August, leaving SP in a lurch. Literally it is true Barry wasn't told to leave at that moment in time, but he was done at the end of that year and he knew it.
  4. not alone on that one! I have some anti-nausea medication left over from a surgery; saved it for moments like this.....
  5. 5 months and he beats Burno
  6. Great tributes to a great Husker. Damn, after watching that video I think I have something in my eye.
  7. What ever happened to chipper? I had him on FB but I haven't heard boo from him in over a year. My guess is the dad of a player took him outside and beat the crap out of him.
  8. I don't mean to get caught up on semantics, but with regard to Romeo, there may have been bridges burned, but it wasn't by her.
  9. Very optimistic but I hope you're right
  10. Sounds awful close to Creighton to me.....
  11. You must be 'glass is half-empty' kind of guy! I'm seeing a lot of positives. What is happening on the football side is just amazing - #Itsamovement! All I know is if we get any more top-rated recruits to commit, I'm going to be the one having a 'movement.' In Men's BB, it's one down & two (maybe three) to go; not to mention the hiring of a new assistant coach yet to be named. Ladies BB; winning back some of the wavering recruits and player would certainly put the glass Over half-full.. But, regardless of one's 'drink of choice,' I'm with you and Norm and I'm going to celebrate. No matter whether the glass is 'half-full' or 'half-empty,' mine is soon going to be 'All-empty.' Typically not. I can't put my finger on it. If we land a big or two, I bet my mood changes quite a bit I can vouch for CWG, in that he is typically a glass completely full type of guy. So much so that in the past, I have accused him of being delusional. I can't explain his current state of mind, but I'm pretty sure the wild-eyed optimist will return.....
  12. Cip,. barring a work disaster, I should be N. Flexible on location.
  13. Has Rosenthal tweeted? Never mind; he has. So he is definitely N.
  14. Can't get anymore official than this...
  15. Has Rosenthal tweeted?
  16. I vote Nebraska!!
  17. But, we did what we needed to do today. Came out and took it to them despite what happened yesterday. We're far from a great team, but this team, this day, epitomized competition. Got off the carpet and got it done.
  18. Now 7-1. Another nice effort from Waldron. Good to have him back. Boldt continues to struggle. Finally got a sacrifice fly, which for him right now is like a grand slam. Rev having a good game, as is Wilkening.
  19. This. He's had enough time to work through it. The Mother Of All Slumps I am not a big fan of him in the lead-off spot anyway. I think Placzek should be the lead-off guy, and Boldt 2nd or 3rd. Here's a line-up with him slumping, we should try to see if it might get him going. Placzek Myers Miller Schriber Boldt Alvarado Fish/Wilkening Schleppenbach Reveles Well, they finally switched it up a little; Placzek will lead off, followed by Bolt, Meyers, Miller, Schreiber. I like the move; Jake's OBP is quite high, which you want out of your lead off guy. No speed, but we weren't doing much with that anyway.
  20. Well, the next class just wasn't good, regardless of "fits". Havers, Ramacieri, Tvrdy (was Murren in that class?). No wonder after that mess Connie went for talent. And thus perhaps some non-fits. I don't doubt Britney was a good hire, but wasn't Doyle a Stephens recruit?
  21. You're a little over-sensitive, HUD. There is no negative attitude on this thread. Just some ironic humor.
  22. Heard that same thing. 7:15-7:30 ballpark. Give Jordy a shout out and show him how knowledgeable we are about recruiting. He will feel quite important and will appreciate the love. Misty's downtown!
  23. Pretty sure the latter.
  24. Oh No, get the lawyers on board! Seriously, she played for Beck and Sanderford. I went to a bunch of their practices. Demanding and tough indeed.
  25. Wanna bet? That, fearless leader, deserves Post of the Year consideration.
