  1. Hell, perhaps Norm should do it!
  2. Hope Boldt can pull out of a massive slump.
  3. Well, that article is still not definitive on a transfer, and other than the naming of Washington as a visit site, doesn't' add anything new. I think I'll go with my Row 6 news vs. the LJS.
  4. Too bad; she would have held some all time records for sure. Loved watching her go 39-40 minutes full bore on both ends of the floor. She will be missed. And there are things going on in her world which I would hope our fans respect, beyond the recent events with our basketball program. I wish her the best. Hoping we'll balance this with some good news on the Doyle front soon; I am optimistic there.
  5. Sometimes statistics can be overrated. With Chatrice, she didn't have much else on her team. She had to take a high volume of shots, and not always good ones. In her case, I'll go with what my eyes have seen watching her play. For as big as she is, she is actually quite skilled. Can shoot it out on the court, facing the basket (WAY better than Shepherd showed this year on that aspect). She runs the floor OK. Can improve defensively, but a lot of sophomores can say that. I suspect what my uneducated eyes saw will be validated which coaches choose to offer her upon transfer. She was very productive on a very poor team, all while drawing a lot of defensive attention.
  6. This stuff takes time. The ones leaving have to make visits. Things are happening behind the scene (which is where they should happen IMO). I wouldn't take "No news" at this point as being very significant or things aren't going to happen. In addition to the transfers, of which I'm pretty sure there will be at least a couple, it will be very interesting to see if Doyle and Cayton can be kept in the fold. I'm pretty sure coach will have a chance to "sell" at least one family, and I wish her the best in that effort.
  7. The 3 words by KLDM were pretty cool
  8. Better yet, Jimmy, start going to the games! It is an economically friendly proposition, and a little easier on the logistics.
  9. Really a piss poor effort again today. Pretty much a nail in the at large coffin. Better hope we bring it in Omaha or we will be sitting at home come tournament time once again. Well, a piss poor outcome, but I don't know if means our effort was bad. We're just not very good.
  10. Another rough one. Hitting here and there, but not opportunistically. Not much production with guys in scoring position. Pitching continues to be an issue.
  11. Just call the ticket office first thing monday and explain the situation. and indicate you'll pay right away. You'll be fine. They don't just send you packing. If you have any trouble, call the development office.
  12. I can't read Griffin without hearing Putney's voice in my head saying "KELSEY GRIFFIN" Putney?
  13. What shall we do with Colorado, then. let em roll one and set it afire. Colorado sucks. And Iowa blows; that's why it's always windy in Nebraska
  14. Well sure, and probably if Theriot hadn't gotten hurt last year and this year, and several other scenarios. I mean, White is a great player, and we would have been ridiculously good last year with her, at least until Theriot went out. And this year it would have meant more Ws. But the last two weeks didn't happen, IMO, because of basketball the outcome of games. No way Yori is gone because Eichorst thought we weren't successful enough in the sport, or recruiting had fallen into the abyss, etc. Or even that we missed on some in-state talent (our record over the 14 years is pretty good in that department). White would have had nothing to do with a former DBO, a current trainer, and the things that were getting investigated. Perhaps he means that we would have had enough additional success on the court that they would have been unable to investigate or reach different conclusions from it....or a title and trophy more recent than 2 years ago would have meant the investigation got deep-sixed. But to the extent White would have made us better (which I think is indisputable; she was way better than i thought she would be when she was in high school), I don't think that is the issue involved in Yori no longer being the coach.
  15. Based on the Big Stage comments, that would seem to eliminate Creighton. She will be able to go wherever she wants. Great player.
  16. Also brought her DBO with her. I was apparently wrong earlier on saying she still had to finish her Masters. On the Huskers site it says she got it in December '15. On the USD site, it says she would get it this next December. That was probably just not uodated on USD.
  17. It was pretty clear this was happening, but it is interesting that rather than an announce or press release, the bios of the assistants just show up on huskers.com. Oh well, carry on, go forward.
  18. I have heard similar. It would not surprise me if she brought all 3. it would surprise me if she didn't at least bring Love and Mays. She may be looking for a DBO, since her current one is in a masters program until December I believe. Are all of the positions from trainer to weight training positions that the head coach fills or are they UNL positions? From what I have been told those two positions are safe, essentially UNL positions.. Not sure of the protocol for if a coach can request a change at those positions or not.Interesting you chose the word "safe."Uhhhh, how else am I suppose to explain it? I don't know of course, but would have to think Coach Amy would/could have some say in the trainer/weight trainer if she wanted some change. Doubt the AD/admin would not listen to the head coach....just as in any other sport. Football completely reorganized their weight training staff and system under Riley im pretty sure that the head strength coach Dobson was part of the football "staff". Meaning that football was his only sport and got paid accordingly ($150k +) and thus was on yearly contracts such as coaches generally all are on. I think the rest of the football weight staff left for other opportunities voluntarily. The only holdover would be Willy Jones in that football staff.I believe that almost all other strength staff are on general contracts that most everyone else in athletic department have. That also goes the same for all athletic trainers. When Riley was hired the training staff stayed the same. This is definitely a situation that maybe a coach can request someone new, but from what I have been told the trainer and weight coach will remain the same unless something unique happens. One could argue something very unique has already happened.
  19. Pitching staff is in shambles. Waldron is now out for a couple of weeks at least with some fluid on his shoulder. Howell is out indefinitely; MRI was clean but he has shoulder problems. This on top of Hohensee already out for ht year. I feel bad for Howell. He turned down decent money to come back for his senior year, and he's had nothing but troubles. Great guy, hate to see this happen.
  20. I have heard similar. It would not surprise me if she brought all 3. it would surprise me if she didn't at least bring Love and Mays. She may be looking for a DBO, since her current one is in a masters program until December I believe.
  21. Things that haven't worked out so well: ' 1. Bill Byrne firing Danny Nee; 2. Minnesota firing Tubby Smith Worked out pretty well for Tubby. Good distinction. It also worked out pretty well for Texas Tech. For the Gophers, not so much.
  22. The first one? We weathered that storm pretty well. I really think losing the home game to Michigan after our winning streak and beating MSU really sent us on a tailspin. If we could have found a way to win that one, who knows. Although we still would have had to play a few games without Shavon.
  23. We are typically very welcoming of new posters.
  24. From a proximity to talent from a recruiting standpoint, we are 14th.
