By my count, looks like Mater Diop is backing up Sam Hoiberg at center vs Doane

NoladrianSephier got a reaction from Huskerpapa in 2023-24 Burning Questions
I don't know a lot about Cale but I've always imagined him to be very Ryan Anderson-esque. Maybe a little more of a true guard type and a lot less of a musician.

NoladrianSephier reacted to Norm Peterson in 2023-24 Burning Questions
The stats guys, the analytics guys, have a way of measuring luck.
Arnold Palmer once said something like "I've hit a lot of lucky shots in my day and the more I practice, the luckier I get."
Sam Hoiberg often finds himself at the right place at the right time because he has intuition for the game.
That's something you cannot teach or coach. It might appear like it's luck, but like Arnold Palmer, he's creating his own luck.
He's not basketball tall. He's not D1 athletic. But, for a guy who's neither tall nor athletic, he makes hustle plays in spades.
Knowing they're both walk-ons and minutes will be exceedingly limited for them regardless, I'd pick Sam for my hypothetical open spot in the rotation. We're not going to rely on either of them to shoulder a scoring load. But Sam has a demonstrated propensity to create that one opportunity that swings a close game in our favor.

NoladrianSephier got a reaction from OmahaHusker in Forecasting 2023-24 lineup
Agreed. I think the big differentiator will be who shots the long ball better. That will determine who is starting at the end of the year.

NoladrianSephier reacted to Norm Peterson in I'll just leave this here
One problem with the '18-19 team was they had no bench.
You can argue about which group of starters would be better between these two teams, but I'd take this year's bench over that one every day that ends in Y.

Never thought I would see Beaker on this message board. Gonzo, yes, but never Beaker.

NoladrianSephier reacted to huskercappy in I am so geeked.
I'm 65 years old. I've been a fan my entire life. My expectations for the program have always been, play hard and play together. Simple goals but under our control. Last year we met those goals. I'm really confident we will do that again this year. Add in more depth, and that's a recipe for a good year. Fingers crossed.

NoladrianSephier reacted to millerhusker in A Norm Recruiting Poll: How'd We Do?
Experienced talent is good. Mature talent is even better... Give me freshman Jamarques Lawrence, mature beyond his years, over almost all of the upperclassmen 4 star transfers we had in the last 4 years. Mental toughness is essential.

Random acts of positivity need to be rewarded. Miller Husker, PM your info and jerky and sticks are on their way. We'll do this on a regular basis. Just be positive, and you never know what will happen!

Briedenbach was a HUGE liability on offense. He displayed no signs of improvement. Both are better off this way.

NoladrianSephier got a reaction from cornfed24-7 in 23-24 Roster (updated)
If we don't spend the entire offseason working on ways to give Keisei a chance to average 25 ppg I'll be disappointed for both what could make us successful and make those games darn fun to watch. The only person that should keep Keisei from being in the mix of the league's top scorers is himself.

NoladrianSephier reacted to AuroranHusker in Ahron Ulis is N
I'm very good with a solid role player on this NU squad. I think Ahron Ulis will fit in well with what Fred & Co. need him to do here. Let's see what we got when the fall scrimmage is unveiled to the public. Very optimistic with Rienk Mast & Brice Williams also in the fray for starter-type minutes. Things really are coming together with a couple more pieces yet to be revealed. GBR
