I wouldn't go that far. Georgetown and LSU are in complete shambles at the moment.
-
What an awesome reference lol. This roster is 3.6 roentgen.

We don't have many pieces at the moment. We have no idea how Keita will look against actual competition. Is he fast enough? Does he have good hands? It'd be nice to get Antonio Reeves as a scoring threat. Griesel Reeves (possibly) Trey (possibly)/Wilcher Transfer 4/Breidenbach Walker/Keita/Briedenbach Not terrible, but not great. In that lineup our backcourt is definitely taller, but they leave alot to be desired defensively. Maybe a matchup zone from Howard will fix that. But when I think matchup zone I think teams with rosters like San Diego State, Baylor, Texas Tech. Not what we're seeing here.

Adidas made a push a couple years ago to be cool but have delved back to lame again.

You would think he’d start next year with what they’re losing, but Spokane is definitely a long way from Omaha with a lot less to do. And that’s saying a lot haha.

Touché

Washut said that Crutchfield is all but wrapped up for the Omaha gig on Husker Online last week. Rumor that McDermott's 4-year extension is coming, and Huss will more than likely take over for him once he's done.
-
Noticed that as well. He was getting beat off the dribble quite a bit. But he also has a natural gift for timing blocks.

Saw Green's stat line from yesterday. Goodness.

For Bryce it's a certainty

Fred needs to disperse recruiting responsibilities to multiple assistants and let them all have a say in who gets brought in. Not just one guy making all the roster decisions.

uneblinstu's postgame chatter: vol 14; ed 28 - vs. Iowa
OmahaHusker replied to uneblinstu's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Despite him being the only one really scoring, he was killing any and all ball movement. Other players were conscious of passing the ball back to him during their sets you could see it. Need a point guard that simply embraces the system badly. -

It’s concerning that I think discipline is our primary issue. And no staff change or “new plan” is going to fix that. I know Bohanan is a tool and the game was pretty much over but you can’t allow a six point swing like that with the emotions from Bryce and Trey. -
Huskers (7-20) vs Hawkeyes (19-8) game thread

Andre doing a good job making it difficult down low and snatching rebounds but please for the love of everything holy stop letting him iso up with his back to the basket. -
North Carolina this year is basically us from that year. Great record against Q2-4, but minimal to zero Quad 1 wins. And in a perceived weak conference this year that’s usually strong. We’ll see what happens to them. I personally think all their fans are going to think they’re in, and they’re gonna be a middling seed in the NIT like we were. And then UNC twitter will legitimately burn.

Coaching
-
I feel like any coach that's been at Creighton as long as he was develops a disdain for their rival, especially working under Altman. He coached at Creighton for almost 20 years. That's a long ass time. And he took legitimate pride and joy in being the lead scout against us. It was personal to him. Not to mention he's an Iowa fan and his brother went there. I've heard he's riding the Drake job out until Fran retires. Now can people have a change of heart? Absolutely. Money can change things. But you have to take into consideration his past. And didn't he just sign like a 10 year contract with Drake last year? That's not an easy buyout.

I'd go after Chris Jans at New Mexico State or a B1G assistant. No P6 head coach is coming here. And people underestimate how much Devries hates this university.

Nebraska (7-19) vs Northwestern (12-12)( +/-1) game thread
OmahaHusker replied to cipsucks's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
It looks to me that Bryce has fully embraced the “I’m going to do what I want now” approach during the game and because of his sheer talent we still need him out there, but in regards to team play (especially defensively) he’s a liability. I feel like a lot of P6 tourney caliber teams would have him reigned in and have him coming off the bench as a great 6 man asset. It’s just kinda where we’re at right now with subpar coaching unfortunately. -

Time to turn on Nova UConn the rest of the night -
This is a great point. When Carey Cohorn is on Sip and Jakes show, I feel like when asked why a team like Creighton can have success he always brings up the cool factor. Its cool to play for them, and we’re just not shiny right now. We need wins and some swag back. (And not the swag like this team has, that comes off as cocky play after continuously getting beat).

There is no way Chris Mack comes here. He's messed around with trying to coach at a football school and failed. He won't do it again. I could honestly see him hanging it up for awhile, if not forever, to focus on being a dad to his three kids.

https://www.aarontorresonline.com/post/college-basketball-coaching-carousel-round-up Blog addressing the current as well as possible head coach openings heading into the offseason (yes, we are one of them). Some heavy hitters we’d be going up against if these moves were to end up coming to fruition.

Shut Up Sipple! - Why Fred Should have at least 5 years
OmahaHusker replied to NUdiehard's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I understand this perspective to an extent. But the deficiencies of this team go far beyond the roster make up of both our team and the teams we’ve played on any given day due to injuries and Covid. Running a sustainable offense (not relying on 1-on-1 ball) as well as being any type of threat defensively the past 3 years for starters. I don’t care what the makeup of your team is, those two things should be at least somewhat addressed to the naked eye by this point. -
Niko will have much better offers than us by the end of this year. I think Gates would be the best option.
