  1. McVeigh is gonna have to guard KT cuz you're right there's no way he's guarding Foster. What's concerning is KT has been shooting over 50% from 3 this year and over 60% from the field this year. I think that's where atmosphere could come into play. Hopefully he doesn't shoot that well when he's got 15,000 wanting him to miss. It really helps this is there first true road game and literally none of their starters played in Lincoln 2 years ago.
  2. Haha I get what you're saying. But this isn't Nebraska football either. I can't look at 5 championships and say this is the level I eventually want our team again. For basketball what success is there to look at and compare to within OUR program? Not Creighton's. There is none. That's why I'm very happy with the talent we've brought in and the progress I'm seeing so far from this still very young team.
  3. No one's saying it isn't a big game. A top 10 team at Pinnacle? How is that not big? Just not to the extent that Miles should lose his job over it if we lose like you've referenced in other threads.
  4. Damn
  5. What concerns me is Morrow guarding Huff, which I'm assuming will be his assignment looking at the other starters. We'll need Morrow inside for rebounding and a physical presence to stop Foster's drives to the basket, but if he keeps cheating inside Huff is very good from the 3 point line.
  6. In honor of the start of Creighton/Nebraska week....a throwback to Mo Watson's take on the rivalry that he gave last year (:30 mark) Hint: Husker alumni are not Creighton smart
  7. "We do this to ourselves every year, especially after Creighton lays a turd in one of their games leading up to playing us. McDermott is just sandbagging again, like always, right before he gets his guys to put in their best performance of the year to date against us. It always seems to happen that this early December game is where they shift into 5th gear in preperation for conference play." hahaha ya I really wish at least some of this post was inaccurate @49r
  8. I'd have to agree. Creighton isn't a great rebounding team so Morrow should be feasting on the boards. I'd also say that playing teams like Loyola Maryland and Buffalo even if Buffalo went to the tourney the last 2 years is hard to get up for. I can see them actually "coming to play" against us so that kinda concerns me. Should be a great game.
  9. Watched Creighton play Ole Miss last night. It looks like they'll be without one of their big men now when they play us. Still...they have height in Patton and a couple other guys off the bench. Looked like Ole Miss really bothered Maurice Watson with their 1-3-1 especially early. I wonder if Miles will try that. We'll need to crash the boards hard since Creighton isn't a great rebounding team. Given the fact we'll have to have one of our best shooting nights of the season, I think we can make it a game at home. I just don't think Miles job depends on it like this thread is pointing out.
  10. You're right. I use "barely" with tongue in cheek. But you get what I mean. GBR
  11. If we're being real with ourselves, comparing the status of our program based on how we play against Creighton this year just isn't fair. This is one of the best teams if not the best team Creighton has ever had. They just hung 112 on NC State. We barely got to 70 against a bad D2 team. Let our young talent grow and see where we are in two years. Firing Miles would hurt this program more than help it in my opinion.
  12. I watched most of the game with Nebraska not being on tv. A lot of both with Foster. Missed mid range jumpers and lay ups with Happ/Hayes at the rim. I was more impressed with his defense and his ability to create his own shot more than anything.
  13. Marcus Foster is...very very good
  14. Nebraska at 14 and Iowa at 6? LOL!!!! Nebraska at 14 and Iowa at 6? LOL!!!! On paper as of today I can see how you can put Nebraska in the 12-14 range this coming year. But doing the same thing for Iowa and seeing their returning starters (lack thereof) it's laughable to have them at 6.
  15. This is hilarious
  16. I agree 100%. Especially with the building a relevant program in Omaha comment.
  17. Of course they are talking Sweet 16 as they think that every year but with all their "history", they have yet to win 2 games in any NCAA tournament. Even with Doug McDermott, they thought sweet 16 and yet was one win and done. No you've got it wrong kldm. McDermott now has has a full recruiting cycle in the Big East under his belt and has been just killing it. They have a solid top-tier roster, a culture of winning, top 5 fan base, their facilities are as good or better than any in the country. Also, Villanova proved last year that any Big East team should expect to be able to win the national title in any given year, I believe this year may be Creighton's year. They have so many built in advantages now. Sweet 16 should be the absolute floor of expectation moving forward. Anything else is a bitter, bitter disappointment. As I said before their roster is as complete as it's ever been. They should be embarrassed if they don't get to at least the Sweet 16. We're resorted to mocking another program and fan base because ours has been practically irrelevant the past century. Remember when the Creighton Nebraska game wasn't even that big of a deal? Creighton was an afterthought for us. I always thought well who cares if we lose to them they're in the cute Missouri Valley and have to win out to even try and sniff the tournament. Well now they don't. We can make fun of their lofty Sweet 16 expectation but hell at least they have expectations period. What's Washut saying for us? NIT is more than likely the ceiling? In Miles' 5th year? Unbelievable. It's getting very old. I'm tired of us losing to Creighton. I'm tired of our roster turnover every offseason. And....my god...the tweets at halftime. Can we please just win? Ok rant over. My apologies. GBR
  18. I hope he has the same passion as the F*** Andrew White guy
  19. Either Roby and Jacobson are 6'10 or Jordy is 6'10... Anyway I like the look of the team :D is Jacobson actually in a tip-toe stance? Look at his feet he's gotta be giving himself like 2 inches hahaha. Can't wait for this year.
  20. To be the new beat writer for Creighton of all teams
  21. it would be funny if this was the case...and to add to it..it's also the year that Miles finally gets the monkey off his back and beats Creigh My thoughts exactly. That game at PBA would be hot ticket.
