  1. Not always true. The coaches have to have a "pecking order" on who they want first. Look how many offers get made and you obviously can't accept them all if every kid decides to accept the NU offer. If you only had one scholarship open and offered this kid and a 5 star kid, NU would hold out to see if they can get the 5 star kid before they would accept Heiman if he decided to commit. He might just be lower on the priority list before NU would accept his commitment. He might be high on their list as I don't know but just because they made the offer don't mean they will accept it unless other kids fall off the radar first.
  2. I'd pass on this kid and it might just be a "token" offer as a PR move by Miles. Time will tell.
  3. College Sports Madness is doing a countdown of the top college basketball teams this year. Surprising we came in at #99 which is pretty cool considering we hardly ever even get mentioned on lists like this. http://www.collegesportsmadness.com/article/14987
  4. I totally agree that it is way overboard on the coverage the football team gets. It's sad that the local media needs to let us know every time a football player needs to go to the bathroom. It is just overkill with media coverage of the football team in this state. The local radio shows just repeat themselves over and over all summer with projections on if NU can win the West Division or who will be 4th string left guard. Just image how bad the Volleyball team feels as they could win the National Championship but the lead story on the local TV news stations will be an NU football practice report.
  5. Creighton already has 2 commits for the 2018 class and both are solid players. They also have three 4 star players signed for their 2017 class. So it's OK to be a little worried as we have like 5 spots as well for our 2018 class and no commits yet.
  6. Good read. I do have a feeling this team will be much better than the media and average fan is giving them credit for. The potential is there!!!
  7. I understand the point but it's no different in college either as look at the transfer rate. Pro players switch teams for more money or a shot at championships. College players switch teams for more playing time, better situation, shot at championship, etc. The only difference is they aren't getting paid but yet they still jump around from team to team. So not sure it's about the love of the game any more in college than it is at the Pro Level.
  8. Can't say I blame him as he is building something pretty good at CU. He gets sell out crowds and not much competition from other sports. And he has a top 25 recruiting class coming in next year. He seems to be able to recruit very well there. I'm sure Omaha is celebrating his announcement to stay at CU.
  9. What are you basing it on that "it sounds like he is staying"? I haven't seen any reports to indicate one way or the other yet.
  10. So now instead of losing to CU, we get to lose to Ohio State every year.
  11. It will be interesting if we win like 17 games and/or sneak in the NIT if that will be enough for Miles to be around another year. My hope is we just kick the door in on the NCAA tournament this year and not have to worry about it.
  12. I think that is pretty obvious
  13. I agree!!! This is my only goal and should be the expectation every year.
  14. You had me at "bag of chips"
  15. If I had my choice of only taking 1 player between Wingett or Chang, I'd take Chang.
  16. I guess I'm not sure then how they calculate turnover percentage. So is this saying that Roby turned the ball over 25 times out of every 100 plays?
  17. Based on what? Webster had the most turnovers on the team last year and Roby was like 5th in total turnovers. Are you talking about turnovers per minutes played or what are you referring to?
  18. Unlike Creighton who is scared to play UNO
  19. I would expect this to the starting lineup for the majority of the season: Glynn Watson Thomas Allen Isaiah Roby Isaac Copeland (or Duby Okeke if waiver isn't granted) Jorday Tshimanga
  20. There is definitely a way we finish 14th. We could finish 3 - 13 down the stretch like we did last year. And the fact the Big 10 will be loaded next year with good teams and players returning. I certainly hope we don't finish 14th but it's not outside the realm of possibility.
  21. I'd take MJ or LeBron anyday if I could only pick one player. MJ just had a competitive and killer instinct that nobody else had on the same level.
  22. That is pretty funny...
  23. So based on that, Nebraska was the only school that disagreed with the rest of the schools in the conference. So how is that Texas or the other schools fault if they all vote a one way and NU is the only school to vote a different way? Just because the voted a certain way doesn't mean it was to side with Texas.
  24. I agree the Big Ten would prefer to get both Texas and OU as any conference would want those two school to join. It would be huge if Big 10 could land both those schools. I'd love to have both Texas and OU in our conference again. The Big 10 would have 2 of the biggest games every year with Ohio State/Michigan and Texas/OU. Gotta love built in rivalry games like that.
