Ugh, that damned Xavier game. That's the one. The lynchpin in Nees program potential and what could have been the start to a budding explosion of quality nebrasketball in terms of recruiting and such. the most memorable of these for me is the 86 game, though, because I remember wanting to follow NU in the postseason but I was stuck at Fort Huachuca (Ft. Wegotcha for vets with an MI bent) at an intel course in the Army and the staff took no mercy on a Husker fan for basketball and made me actually do my work that day (and about a half dozen others) and stay in the field setting up the advanced course graduation exercise. I find out Dave's hurt and, voila, everyone knew the result from there.

this is pointless. if they're close, they choke spectacularly. if they're not close, they've quit. those are the two gears this team hasand no other. i've never seen a team at NU with less of a will to win than this one.

I think these guys are just happy being close in a game. they go absolutely haywire if it looks like they could actually take a game.

any "style" that involves staring at the other teams 2 dudes busting butt for a rebound while your 5 stand there and admire their effort needs to probably be re-evaluated.

game and well earned loss. this team absolutely infuriates me at every turn. all that watching the other team hammer the boards....they just don't have a molecule of a winning ruthlessness.

annnnndddd.......verge doing verge late. this one's done. and the script is virtually word for word identical.

For once, I thought on this one, and like a fine gristle, came to a tough conclusion: they're going to do the unthinkable because it's the only time they play remotely good. NU-77 Ill Noise-74 Sigh. I probably just typed evidence for my involuntary committment one of these days.
