  1. lol. i feel for ya, Fever, I do...:) It's like the first group are the cynics and the second group are crack-addled Pollyannas. You need hazard pay for this gig, brother.
  2. I'll say it: if Doc is head coach of this bunch, and assuming he didn't need to empty the entire roster for a refusal to train properly, he'd have at least 2 to 3 times the wins by now. He's done a lot more with a lot less.
  3. I've followed doc at 2 programs now and I don't recognize him. This is the question I've been asking since his initial back-benching and the sense that the two had a falling out over mkethods and approaches and that Doc had lost an argument he should have won. He's back on the bench to try and rescue something he knows can't be. Doc looks like a zombie out there that wants to be anywhere but back in Lincoln on these terms, and I fully exxpect him to be gone at the end of the year, regardless of Hoiberg. High dollar coaches aren't a guarantee of success. I don't know how to "fix" Nebraska. But we did come close not that long ago. An unknown from Ohio took us places no oneelse did. We need to hire better and differently, at least for this sport. Part of that is having a string of sh*t ADs for too long. I'm hoping Alberts reverses that trajectory. Btvv: Coach Pettit also scores big here, too. This isn't a bad year. This is a bad foundation and this house cannot stand.
  4. or it's close relative, "Nebrasketcase"
  5. it was a nice respite from suckage, but the team's back to its old tricks. NU doesn't turn corners. It runs into them and then pretends it meant to do that. Have a nice afternoon and for the love of Shiva, if you don't have a B team to root for at this point in your evolution, please find one. THis could take awhile.
  6. I think the Terps broke him. It might take some therapy before he's ready to take on an even bigger challenge.
  7. and somehow we still don't score.
  8. great play there by bryce. more of that, please.
  9. seems like every time they get close, they do stupid crap. turnover or stupid shot. something about pressure just gets to these guys heads.
  10. as long as they're playing fundamentally sound teams, they're going to struggle. such basic things that most high div 1 teams have under control. sigh. they're just lazier than most of us are used to because of our long meandering through the 3 star desert that requires maximum effort to be competitive. fundamentally, this team is a 50 legged-migraine.
  11. this team can vvin if they just bothered to take better bloody shots! and that's even taking into account they're relatively lazy on D, to boot.
  12. I'm far too serious about this game today, matt.....heh heh. don't oppress me! :)
  13. good for him, I suppose. Hope it's not bad for us.
  14. just take this game so I can stop disliking this team for the rest of the year.
  15. is geo baker pursuing a doctorate at this point? good lord, he's getting like Davison.
  16. (raises hand gingerly) um, sorry. my bad.
  17. Think they have one more shot in them for no reason at all. Maybe even an OT NJ St.--82 NU-76
  18. vergggge.....grrrrrr....
  19. oh, the mistakes. maddening.
  20. are they going to use teams as game ushers this year?
  21. Love Izzo. One of the thing sI love about this league are the coaches. But Izzo tops them all.
  22. dang, i forgot how , much that singer looks (and sounds) like chris robinson from the Crowes (yeah, i'm switching the chronology a bit). oh, and let's go huskers! (eventually, maybe when this game actally tips off)
  23. yep. driving me nuts about complaints over packing it in on D. It's the only thing that kept us in this game (and likely a few others). and Husker fans have seen this approach bail us out with teams at decided athletic/height disadvantages. If we had guarded the perimitter the way some people claim to have wanted, there'd be complaining about a 20 pt loss and the stupid staff for just letting EJ and Co. run wild on the inside. Ya can't win for losing.
  24. lord, is this a new NU or are they going to do the same stuff they did the last time they lost a heartbreaker? I'm going with empiricism. MSU-81 NU-66 4
  25. still doesn't matter if you have a massive sample size in real games indicating that this great practice player doesn't show up to games.
