  1. Leaving Thor and Tanner on the bench. This is what i have came up with except Tanner in place of Brady.
  2. I understand why they wouldnt want to sacrifice their exhibition game, but why not the secret scrimmage? Do the schools make any money off of the "secret scrimmage"? If not, why not make it a charity game. You get more of a game like setting and make money for a good cause.
  3. I forgot Michael Jacobson was at Iowa St. Hopefully Roby and Cope put the work in on em so we can all feel good about the idea of him leaving bc he knew we had some ballers in the program. *But man it sure would be nice to have a 6'9 235lbs Michael Jacobson off the bench backing up Roby and Copeland for 20ish minutes a game*
  4. Surgery later this week with an expected 6-8 month rehabilitation period
  5. Unless he is just a game changer, hes gotta be a lock to RS now. By the the time he rehabs and gets into game shape the season will be so deep and roles will have already been assigned for the most part.
  6. I remember it being a topic of discussion at the end of last season when Miles only got a one year extension. Its just an interesting storyline that I had forgotten about amongst all of the excitement surrounding the upcoming season.
  7. Also, with three commits in like 2 weeks we can finally put to rest the fear that Tim Miles' contract will hurt recruiting.
  8. Robin mentions a very interesting story line for this season that many of us dont want to think/talk about. Nebrasketball has a break through year, lets say Sweet 16. Copeland, Palmer, and Watson graduate. Roby heads off to the NBA. Does Miles stick around to a team that will most likely be rebuilding and a school that has given him very little administrative support during his time here? Surely with such a short contract (and small buyout???) Miles will have plenty of suitors if he has a break through season.
  9. Based on the timing, gotta think its bc he got benched right? Ozigbo started last game and played great so I am assuming hes the new starter at RB. Bell doesnt like that hes not the starter anymore and now wants to leave. Could be more going on. But on the surface this is what it looks like.
  10. We are definitely weeding out the players who do not want to be here. So RB rotation is now Ozigbo, Washington, and Mazour?? If i understand the new RS rule correctly, we can still play Jaylin Bradley and Miles Jones up to four games each and still save a year of eligibility, right?
  11. But... how can i trust it??? It doesn't even have Akol Arop on there ?
  12. So for 2019 were sitting like so: GUARDS: Amir Harris, Dachon Burke, Thomas Allen, Mika Adams-Woods, and Jervay Green WINGS: Nana Akenten, Thorir Thorbjarnarson, and Karrington Davis FORWARDS: Isaiah Roby, Dedoch Chan, Brady Hieman, and Akol Arop Disregarding attrition, we have one scholarship left. We need another forward. I know Yavuz Gultekin is scheduled to visit. Does anybody know of any other recruits we are in on??
  13. Just to be clear, my knowledge of the situation comes from working at Omaha South during the time frame it went down. But none of my information is from South's coach or anyone from the Arop family. Just what I heard from other people in the building during that time period. So i am sure it was one sided news, which is why I wanted to emphasize there is always two sides to the story. Nonetheless, glad to have Akol N.
  14. Once again the issue for Aguek's camp was the timing. He had been a hard commit for 2+ years. Miles had not hinted at him going to a prep school until AFTER his last go around in AAU ball. Aguek's camp felt slighted bc he no longer had an offer from Nebraska for the original year he committed AND prime recruiting season had ended. So they felt like Nebraska left him with little to no choices bc of the timing. Now there is always two sides of the story. But i dont want to hijack Akol's thread. I am glad he is on board and am glad that he and his family are mature enough to allow his recruiting process to truly be his own and not in fluenced by his older brothers experience. That, i think we can all agree on.
  15. True. But it was more of the timing that had the ppl in Agueks camp so upset. The idea wasnt proposed until AFTER his last go around on the AAU circuit (where they felt he didnt get much attention bc he had been a hard commit for 2+ years). But once again, im not picking sides. College basketball and recruiting are cutthroat businesses nowadays. Just stating that Creighton's instances of redshirting/prep schools with local kids is different bc it was a part of the schools/athletes original plan. Anyways, glad Akol is N.
  16. To play devils advocate, Miles gets vilified bc he switched up from what the original deal was. The original deal wasnt for Arop to go to prep school, that was something that was dropped on him in late summer before his senior year. In the instances for Creighton, redshirting/prep school was a part of the original plan and something the recruits were on board with. Two different scenarios.
  17. Correct. They have 0 scholarship players we have 2. With each of programs having one in the folds (Shereef Mitchell 2019 and Donovan Williams 2020).
  18. Miles said hes still looking for a "long, athletic guy and a combo forward". Assuming Akol's wing span is similiar to his older brothers (6'9ish) i think he checks the box for the former.
  19. Much agreed. Once we cycle threw a couple years with this rule I dont think you will see as many Clemson type situations. This rule is great for underclassmen and injuries.
  20. Honas is out for the year. Thanks to the new redshirt rule he will not lose a year of eligibility and will be a Redshirt Junior next fall.
  21. Typically players dont redshirt after their freshmen year (unless its a medical or a transfer redshirt). I remember Miles discussing the possibility of Bakari Evelyn redshirting after freshman year. Evelyn ended up transferring instead.
  22. If Copeland is playing the 5 that means Roby isnt on the court. Roby will play the 5 over Copeland anytime they are on the court together.
  23. I have ghosted social media. About 45 days and counting.
  24. Thats is something our basketball program will always have going against them. No matter how good they are there is always Husker football. Creighton bball doesnt really have any other sport they are competing with for coverage.
  25. Im still butt hurt that Creighton is covered more thoroughly than our team. They had a nice article breaking down and summarizing EVERY player on their roster. I guess if Miles gets this thing rolling and strings together say 3 or 4 successful seasons every 5 years than we will get the same treatment.
