  1. Akol Arop would check the box for "long, athletic guy" right???
  2. Per LJS, Miles is looking for "a hybrid forward and a long athletic guy," to fill out the '19 class. "...another Isaiah Roby, which is easy to find." - Tim Miles ??
  3. 1. Nana 2. Dedoch 3. Thor
  4. Im leaning more towards this type of rotation: 1 Glynn Watson / Amir Harris 2 Thomas Allen / Amir Harris 3 James Palmer / Nana Akenten 4 Isaac Copeland / Dedoch Chan 5 Isaiah Roby / Tanner Borchardt *Thomas Allen or Amir Harris for the fifth starter*
  5. Palmer played the majority of his minutes at the 3 last year. If he does the same this year thats 30+ MPG. Also you have Nana, Thor and Amir that could play on the wing. I do not see Dedoch Chan playing much on the wing, not that he cant, but theres not really a need for him there. I see most of his minutes at the 4. When he comes in Copeland or Roby slide to the 5 while the other goes to the bench for a breather. Thats how i see it shaking out if Chan is the bench piece for the front court.
  6. Thats what i was kind of thinking. Im guessing weight lifting decreases some and conditioning increases, which should equal some weight loss.
  7. Question for those of you who are experienced basketball players or coaches: Is it realistic to expect Brady to add any additional weight in the next 4-5 weeks of official practice? And if so, how much?
  8. Thanks for the info. I dont remember the specifics of that time and obviously hindsight is 20/20. I just remember an IWCC signing with a P5 team and having a solid year on a good team.
  9. I know hes not a true "instate" player but i would like to see Miles lockdown the top JUCO guys in the area too. I know Iowa Western sent a kid to Arizona State last year and he had a pretty good season. I dont think we even recruited him. DeQuon Lake 6'10 F averaged 7pts 5reb and 1 blk on 70+% from the field and 65+% from the line.
  10. The most interesting development to me now is the backup minutes at the 4 and 5. We know Roby and Copeland will each play 30 minutes (even more in big/close games). That leaves about 20 minutes a game left for Tanner Borchardt, Dedoch Chan, and now Brady Hieman. I feel like im pretty confident piecing together the rest of the rotation. But Hieman not RS is throwing a wrench in my predictions for the front court.
  11. Hope not, but definitely a possibility. But just like with transfers I like to assume everyone who is on the team is on the team until they arent. Im sure Miles and Co. are preparing and recruiting accordingly.
  12. Rivals article says Karrington Davis is still recovering from a major hip injury that occurred during his senior year. Redshirting has been discussed but nothing has been finalized.
  13. So now we have Mika Adams-Woods and Jervay Green. With the addition of Dachon Burke next year we are probably set on gaurds. I think we still land Akol Arop. That leaves one scholarship left that we would need to use to help with the front court. A grad transfer would be nice since Roby is currently the only senior to be on the roster rn.
  14. Junior. He averaged 15pts 5reb and like 3asst his FR year at WNCC. Will finish up his SO year this season before coming to Nebraska next summer.
  15. So we know Glynn Watson, James Palmer, Isaac Copeland, and Isaiah Roby are starting. Sounds like the 5th starter will either be Thomas Allen, Nana Akenten, or Amir Harris. With whoever doesnt start coming off the bench. Throw in Dedoch Chan and/or Tanner Borchardt (not quite sure how they are gonna play that) and we have our set 9-10 man rotation. Yes or no?
  16. OWH article notes that the freshmen have been impressive (specifically naming Amir) and Thomas Allen and Nana Akenten have made major steps during the off season. This was all mentioned when talking about who the 5th starter would be.
  17. Havent even heard anything about him coming out of offseason workouts or anything. All i have seen is the speculation on how some believe he will be a contributor. Should get more info with practice set to begin.
  18. Not to hijack the thread, but has anyone heard anything on Karrington Davis... like at all??? Im pretty sure I have heard talk, whether it be in the papers or info passed around on here, about every scholarship player except for KD.
  19. LJS article talks about how Roby has really taken to heart being more assertive on offense. Miles told him he's being selfish and hurting the team by not doing so bc he is so talented. Lists Roby, Copeland, Thor, and Thomas Allen as the players who made the biggest gains in the weight room. And as stated on here, Amir Harris is the freshman who has stood out the most (athleticism and defense). Was gaurding our players in practice right from the start.
  20. If proper ball handling reduces the chance of fumbling and proper ball handling can be coached (like you acknowledge)... then a staff can coach a team to turn the ball over less??? Im not saying luck has nothing to do with it or that a coaching staff can entirely eliminate them. But they can definitely reduce them by teaching and emphasizing ball security and good decision making.
  21. Agree to disagree. Decision making and ball security can be improved. Will it ever be perfect? Of course not. But its not a coincidence or luck 6 different players (i think) have fumbled the ball through two games.
  22. I know this isn't an over night fix but was disappointed to see penalties, turnovers, and poor special teams hurt us again. Thought the staff would shore up some of it from game one to game two.
  23. Frost thought he could sneak out a win with a very conservative game plan and too many mistakes resulted in it back firing. Bunch is capable of more than what was called. He is a solid runner and thrower but the staff wanted to keep him up right so we didnt throw deep or run him much. Unfortunately, the O-line (which Scott was banking on) played a much worse game than it did against Colorado. Thats my take away after digesting the available information for a little bit.
  24. Only bc Shareef Mitchell reclassified and is now a 2019 prospect. He was ranked ahead of Brady until his reclassification.
  25. I know Scott Frost isnt gonna fix things over night but man I havent seen a crash and burn like this in a long time. The excitement was so high literally three weeks ago and its came to a sudden hault. Some losses and things out of the team's control (weather and injuries) has us staring at an 0-3 start. If that happens, do we even bother trying to get a 12th game?
