Nebraska (7-1) vs. Minnesota (6-2) Game thread

Tossed the ball at Minny player after the travel call. -
Anyone know why Illinois is playing at the United Center (Bulls home court) against Ohio St?
-
I am a die hard Bulls fan and i will say the firing is a complete joke by the management and makes no sense. Hioberg was TBD on if he was gonna work out, but he finally had a young, athletic team with decent shooters that could play the style he wants. Then they got hit HARD by injuries. Lauri Markkanen (1st All-Rookie last season) gets injured in the preseason. He just played his first game of the season on Saturday. Denzel Valentine injures his ankle in the preseason. Who is a key bench piece that can defend multiple positions and shot 40% from three last year. He is now out for the season. Kris Dunn and Bobby Portis (starting PG and F) get lost the same day, both with MCL sprains. Have yet to return. Very, very few teams could win a lot of games without their starting PG and front court and a key bench piece. Makes no sense to fire him under those circumstances. I am no Fred Hoiberg fan either btw. Rant over.

uneblinstu’s postgame chatter: vol 11, ed 8 - Illinois
khoock replied to uneblinstu's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I only saw bits of the first half and the last 10ish minutes of half number two. Looks like we took a low amount of 3's. Was that by design or did Illinois take em away from us? Nana and Tom combined for one 3PA. Also did I see a lineup of Watson, Palmer, Cope, Roby, and Hieman/Tanner at some point? Could have sworn I did. Illinois did what they do. Make a game ugly and muck it up with TOs and fouls. But we still won comfortablly. On to Minnesota. -
2018 G Xavier Johnson - Decommit to Pitt
khoock replied to ajb5856's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
You guys keep bumming me out. Everytime i see theres new posts in the recruiting thread, i get excited thinking/praying something might be developing with a big man but its just ppl fawning over Xavier Johnson. -
Your OP seems accurate too. K-State, at the very least, reached out to the North Texas HC.

Nebraska 72 - 68 Minnesota -
Heard on the radio that K-State really wants to try and grab Brent Venables (Clemson DC). Apparently hes an alum or from the area.

Actually based off the final rankings, we would get Georgia @ Oklahoma and Ohio State @ Notre Dame
-
With the playoff format i would like to see would look like this for this season: (8) Washington @ (1) Alabama (5) Ohio State @ (4) Oklahoma (6) Georgia @ (3) Notre Dame (7) UCF @ (2) Clemson A weak Pac-12 champion and UCF being without star quarterback McKenzie Milton would put a little bit of a damper on the first round games. But in most years this would result in a lot of intriguing quarter final matchups.

HHCC Game #08 - vs. Illinois (Dec. 02, 4:00 PM CST)

NU 77 Illinois 68 13 conference wins -
I would love to see a scenario where Bama and Clemson lose with Georgia, Oklahoma, and Ohio State winning. That gives you 5 teams at 12-1 and an undefeated Notre Dame for the four playoff spots.
-
Oklahoma has the better resume right now AND they play the higher ranked team today (which would avenge their only loss of the season). If both Oklahoma and Ohio State win I see no way how the committee could move Ohio State ahead. What im interested to see is if Bama gets boat raced by Georgia do they get in still (i know not very likely)? But with a loss their resume isnt anymore impressive than anyone elses imo.
-
Looks like a lot of good matchups today. Could easily see a split or either conference winning the series by a game.
-
On the the play where Tanner scored it almost looked as if the two Clemson players were completely shocked that we dropped it off to Tanner (cant remember who the player who made the pass was). ???
-
Yep. Looks like Nana and Tanner will get 10-15 a game each. Amir is getting 5-10. Brady gets in if its a blowout or Roby is in early foul trouble. Thor is riding the pine at the moment with Trueblood and Costello.
-
Gotra get two bigs who can contribute right away. Ideally, a freshman and a grad transfer.
-
My take aways: - Palmer had the kind of game we need from him. Im okay with three to five 3PA from per game but no more. - Watson didnt play his best game but he is a grinder. - Copeland bounced back after a poor game on Saturday. Boy its good to have him healthy! - Roby in too much foul trouble again - Tom had a quiet night until he hit that beautiful dagger - Nana and Tanner had a couple nice offensive rebounds - Brady i thought looked solid in his 5 min. Its beginning to be clear that if Cope/Roby arent in foul trouble we wont see him during games Most importantly we limited our Nebrasketball end game blunders just enough to pull off a huge road win!! GBR

Doesnt seem like a big picture kind of question... seems like a 7 games in to the season type of question to me ??
-
Still hate our offense about 50% of the time. Cant stand the iso dribbling with everyone else just standing around. I swear i move around more on some possessions just from pacing around my apartment than the players on the court without the ball do ??. Good win though! Lets start 1-0 in conference now.

I chose satisfied. A close loss to TTU would have bumped me to very satisfied. A win and undefeated record would have me unfathomably be satisfied. We have a good team. We should be 6-1 rn

Tom with ice in his veins. Get one more stop!! -
Texas Tech jumped into the top 20 and Clemsom tumbled 11 spots to 27, just outside the rankings.
