  1. Man next Saturday is gonna be exciting. Spring game and an early look into the new basketball staffs recruiting targets.
  2. His stats had him at 33%
  3. I heard it on the radio. Someone else posted a link to a story about it as well in this thread.
  4. Anybody know if/when they plan on visiting MAW? Or maybe hes coming in for the spring game next week?
  5. I was under the impression that someone from the staff had already visited with him. I wasnt trying to imply that we told him to get lost. More so that they were upfront and honest about what their plan was and who they were bringing with them. MAW might not be thrilled about a top rated JUCO PG coming in who is only one year his elder eligibilty wise. Just a theory.
  6. Could explain MAW reopening his commitment. Coach could've said something like "Look we'd love to have you but we also got another PG coming who has 3 years left and we like him alot too."
  7. Cam Mack is a name to watch. 6'3 JUCO PG from Salt Lake CC with three years to play. Was committed to Johns and recruited by Matt A. He decommitted today.
  8. So today is the day Hoiberg is holding individual player meetings. Aside from Roby, we will probably know who is staying/going in the next couple days. - Johnny Trueblood: 60% good spark plug who knew his role. Has the option to play again but has already graduated. Could return, transfer (Omaha?) or hang it up and pursue coaching. - Dachon Burke: 90% chance he stays. Good defender and slasher. Also just used his RS year so he wont willingly want to transfer idt. - Thorir Thorbjarnarson: 50% good passing and intangibles. There is rumblings he wants to go home and play pro. - Nana Akenten: 25% good shooter and has great athleticism. Team standing is uncertain. But Hoiberg was a good track record of setting "culture killers" right - Amir Harris: 80% high energy player who provides good versatile D and attacking the basket. Doesnt quiet have the shooting - Brady Heiman: 90% local kid with size. He shot 3's in high school so he has that going for him. Not sure how he fits in defensively - Karrington Davis: 90% not much is known. Seems like he would have some tools that would fit well into Hoibergs system, if healthy.
  9. Most Masters are only 30 credits. You have summer fall and spring to get those 30 credits. Very doable Masters usually takes two years but thats for us working folks are only going part time (nights/weekends).
  10. If they dont earn there graduate degree, is the way it sounds to me.
  11. Weird he would reopen. Seems like a good setting for him. Thomas Allen is out and seems like Gates is being retained. So the coach who recruited him will be there and there will be PT up for grabs
  12. If we have Jervay, Roby, and Dachon i like our chances to have an okay season. Could be even better depending on how Hoiberg is able to develop the roster and who he brings in.
  13. So Freds visiting with our recruits yesterday and today, individually with the current players tomorrow, and then what? When can they start contacting new recruits?
  14. I dont believe Anton Gill went that year with Tim Miles. Or atleast definitely didnt play.
  15. He probably doesnt need his own thread if theres been no contact (yet)
  16. Sounds as if he has had one foot out the door for awhile. Seems like he wants to get closer to home.
  17. The cupboard is pretty bare if Roby leaves... Dachon/Jervay are both unproven at this level. Both could be dudes or both could struggle. The rest of the roster will be freshman and a handful of players that averaged 2-3 points a game. Not exactly oozing with talent.
  18. Out of curiosity, anybody know if Nana was "part of the team" at the team meeting Hoiberg had with them? Also, I think i read that Hoiberg said some playerSSSS have entered their name in the transfer portal. Anyone know of names aside from Thomas Allen?
  19. Did he go into any depth on the players we have committed/returning?
  20. Even if they dont, still plenty of time for kids to transfer out.
  21. I have played basketball against all those Central kids (minus Akoy), Khyri Thomas, Cj Carter, TC, Thik Bol. Reasons why i prob always thought I was horrible in basketball growing out. Turns out im SLIGHTLY better than average for recreational ball player.
  22. No idk the validity of this statement, but I have heard that Hoiberg has talked to Dwyane Wade about joining the staff in some capacity, whether as an assistant or in some type of players relation role. Anybody who is connected hear anything like this or am I way off base?
  23. Is the spring game on tv this year live or tape delay?
  24. Sounds like the St. Johns guy with the crazy last name is a lock. Any other word on the rest of the staff? Will they be announced Tuesday anyone think? Im going to guess we have 4 schollies to fill when its all said and done. A couple RS transfers, an impact freshman, and grad transfer would be a good way to balance the classes. Depending on who the rest of the staff is, we could already have reinforcements on the way. Cant wait for it all to shake out.
  25. I believe he is from Colorado.
