  1. Not the least bit surprised by that. Ames is, well, Ames. Iowa City is cool but you'd have to play for that manic nut job. OR you could go to Lincoln and play for a guy who not only played in the NBA but coached in the NBA, AND it's that same guy that you really liked as a kid when he turned around the program at Iowa State after that one dude messed it up. So, you go kick the tires in Lincoln and see what the place is all about. I could see it.
  2. Nothing on his twitter account says he's committed anywhere and I don't see anything else on line showing it, unless I'm just not seeing the right stuff. My bad if I missed it. https://twitter.com/xaman_10?lang=en
  3. If he's committed, then Rivals is behind the times because it just lists him as having interest in about 14 schools, including us.
  4. With the new info posted above, you should change the thread title to 2020 5-star PG Jalen Suggs.
  5. No. I'm not kidding. It is not April 1. https://n.rivals.com/content/prospects/2020/xavier-foster-182614#school-interests
  6. Are you frickin' kidding me? That is AWESOME!
  7. They weren't wrong. What Hoiberg and Moos said might have been technically true. But the way the dance is done in these situations allows them to have some finality without having to admit it was already a done deal. It allows all parties an opportunity to save face in just this kind of situation.
  8. cough cough Zeke Nnaji cough cough
  9. If that ends up being the case, it's good news for both parties.
  10. Recruiting dead period right now, which gives him time to re-recruit the guys already signed. Because (I assume) that's not really recruiting.
  11. Smart choice. He's still employed for another year.
  12. ISU has a coach. They aren't interesting in dumping him. They have a former coach/player who was unemployed and wanted to get back into coaching. And they felt entitled to dictate to him what jobs he should or shouldn't consider. They should eff themselves sideways. When Turner Gill took the job at KU, I was nothing but happy for him (except it was like, KU, oooh boy, that could be a rough one.)
  13. He handled the "go pig soouie" moment alright.
  14. He's also still showing himself wearing a Husker hoodie in his profile pic on twitter.
  15. Hoping. But what the heck. Arizona could be swept up in the FBI thing. Hoiberg was away from the college game just long enough to likely not have been even potentially an object of investigation and represents a safe landing spot. Further, his NBA experience means he has cred; his being a new hire means he’s not likely going anywhere for your entire college career; his proximity to your hometown means your family could make it to some games. Hoiberg has some things to sell here, and there’s no ink on an LOI at this point. Why not?
  16. I apparently haven’t been playing close enough attention to understand why we were concerned whether he was on vacation at some point. Anyone care to bring me up to speed?
  17. By the way, there are two undecided Rivals 4-star shooting guards from Sunrise Academy in Belair, KS for the class of 2019. https://n.rivals.com/prospect_rankings/rivals150/2019
  18. FYI, he's only a verbal to AZ and hasn't signed an LOI yet. From the Twin Cities. Where the Timberwolves play. And Hoiberg used to be a front office guy. Just sayin.
  19. I enjoyed it. Was going to suggest something like this to you. I really actually was. I figured it'd be a hoot, so I appreciated your effort here.
  20. Come back tomorrow, April 2nd, and you might find the place more to your liking.
  21. This St. John's fan is quite a bit butt hurt that Matt Abdelmassih is leaving to join Hoiberg and the Huskers: But he also has some interesting and quite realistic insights about the Big East as well:
  22. This isn't a bully board. Differences of opinion are typically respected around here. There were many on here who supported Coach Miles and many others who thought it was time for him to go, and I think, for the most part, the disagreements were handled respectfully. You, however, drew fire for wishing the team to lose. I think that crossed the line with a lot of people. And then you doubled-down on that position. Multiple times. And drew a ton of fire. So, what you lacked in discretion, you made up for in stamina. A boxer who drops his arm needs to have a strong chin, and I'll give you credit for that. But this isn't a "bully board"; it's just a board that doesn't suffer fools gladly.
  23. Next year might be rough but doesn't have to be if the right chips fall the way they realistically could. I think the back court Miles had lined up would be a very good back court with Green, Allen, Burke, Adams-Woods and Harris. In that order, by the way. If the rumors about Cameron Lard have legs and if, for some spectacular reason, the NCAA (with its seemingly more liberal approach to granting recruits immediate eligibility) granted him some sort of eligibility waiver, and we got Roby back, we would have a respectable front court as well. At that point, we actually might not suck next season. Odds of all of that happening are probably less than 1%. #strangerthings
  24. We were soooo close in so many ways. Tantalizingly close.
  25. I did, and if it's any consolation to you, Silver, they were only fun for about a-day-and-a-half and then it was like "let's go play 'missile attack' with the yard darts."
