You know the family? Have they ever explained those curtains to you? And ... basement decked out in Notre Dame stuff -- yes or no? What's the verdict?

2017 PG Parker Stewart -> Pitt -> UT Martin -> Indiana
Norm Peterson replied to trickey's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
Can't post any vid right now (youtube message "an error occurred, please try again later") but his game reminds me of someone who didn't play point guard for us. -
2016 F Dontay Bassett -> Florida
Norm Peterson replied to AuroranHusker's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
Norm's acceptance was just acceptance of the fact that we offered the kid after both Kamdy and I were like meh. Bein's I was never too excited about him, I jumped over all the stages of grief when he committed to Florida. -
Wearing socks on soft carpet, hmmmm. Assuming the semi-standard window height of 7 feet, he looks like he'd be about 7'2" in shoes. Anyone want to draw some lines of convergence and whatever other photography things that tell us he's actually 5'2"?

Didn't know if you were aware but Matthew Oltman (Music Director/singer of Chanticleer) is currently doing Doctoral work in Music at the University. He was at a house party of mine a couple of weeks ago. It was an interesting moment in my career as a musician. How did you get in touch with King's Singers? I was a board member for the Marshall County Arts Cooperative for four years. We brought in m-pact, Turtle Island Quartet, Dallas Brass, (Canadian Brass this year, though I'm no longer on the board), and King's Singers. Also had Matt Alber (who was in Chanticleer for a while, as well as m-pact), and Matt White (the dude who did the "Love" song on the McRib commercial a few years back) make visits to lead 5-7th grade choir clinics. I think they're looking to maybe bring in the Swingle Singers sometime soon, which would be pretty darn cool. Not sure if that will happen, though. Swingle Singers? Sounds like a group that should serenade the Shim-Sham dancers. I'm sure the Shim-Shams would be happy to come and perform a routine while the Swingles sing.

Only need 5 wins if there is not enough 6 win teams. Nope, it's a minimum of 6-6, or possibly 6-7 teams that play in a league title game. Unless a 5-7 team wins their conference, it's not happening... I found this article from 2012 about 5-7 teams getting a bowl invite.http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/eye-on-college-football/19719427/you-may-see-a-5-7-bowl-team-in-the-future We're a long way from 5 wins.

Coach Miles limited addition shoes
Norm Peterson replied to trickey's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Apparently, they don't add very much either. -
2016 F Isaiah Roby - Signed
Norm Peterson replied to Nebrasketballer's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
Seriously, though, I am thrilled beyond description that Horne chose to take another visit on Roby's official weekend. That says something about his level of commitment. And it also says something about Roby's recruiting abilities. Seriously, can Roby do any in-home visits with any centers we're looking at? He's a closer. -

Norm Peterson replied to Nebrasketballer's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
Great to see! Boy does Roby look young. In a good way. Compared to Horne, definitely. But Jeriah looks to have filled out well for his age. Roby will probably fill out a bit once he's been in the strength, conditioning & nutrition programs at NU. Both are prized finds for Nebrasketball to go with Glynn Watson, Ed Morrow, Michael Jacobson & Jack McVeigh. Future looks very, very bright. Unless Roby knows jiu jitsu, I think Horne could take him straight up. Not that they would throw it down or anything. (But if they did, I've got $10 on Horne if anyone's taking bets.) -
I know of some corporate donors who used to plug holes in the dam that we know as the sellout streak who've notified the administration that they aren't in a position to continue picking up the tab for seats people aren't using. So, if (when) we have extra seats to sell in the future in order to keep the streak alive, we're going to have to find new corporate partners willing to take one for the team.

That'll be enough to finance their buyout of their football coach's contract.

Nebrasketball Visitors at Wisconsin Game
Norm Peterson replied to Swan88's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
Cool. Very cool. We were hoping Zay would come in for Horne's official. In fact, Horne comes in for Zay's official. And, if Zay is 6'8", what's that make Horne? -
So what is the male part above tenor called? Contralto? The Asian dude has a great voice, followed by the tall, kind of heavyset kid. Mr. Contralto with the long hair was a bit pitchy at times going flat in some of the higher parts of his register. Like the "Oh" part of "Oh, baby give me one more chance." He seemed consistently flat on that note. Otherwise, he seems to get good elevation. Decent range. Just needs to bring his elbow in a bit and make sure to complete his follow-through.

Is this the death knell for Rick Pitino's program?
Norm Peterson replied to jimmykc's topic in College Basketball
Actually, that wasn't a "peace" sign. It was "V" for victory. I know but I figured the young'ins on here might have slept though that day in history class. And the old'ins on here just ARE history. -
Why doesn't this kid have a Rivals profile?
Norm Peterson replied to Norm Peterson's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
No. Just saying I'm not sure I'd classify Gilmore as "explosive." I also disagree that you can't teach a guy to explode off of one foot. Although I would say it's fairly innate. -

Norm Peterson replied to Norm Peterson's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
P-Allen could explode too. As could Gilmore. I wouldn't go that far.
