I agree that would be the case for Karrington Davis if we were talking about Karrington Davis. I do not agree, for a variety of reasons, that would apply to Amir Harris.

Keeping up with the offers/visits

I'm having a little bit of a hard time grasping this one: season Team 2018-19 NEB GP GS MPG FG FG% 3PT 3P% FT FT% OR DR REB AST BLK STL PF TO PTS 30 0 8.5 0.8-1.4 59.5 0.0-0.0 0.0 0.2-0.6 29.4 0.8 1.0 1.7 0.1 0.5 0.1 1.1 0.2 1.8 season Team 2018-19 ORST GP GS MPG FG FG% 3PT 3P% FT FT% OR DR REB AST BLK STL PF TO PTS 27 0 7.8 0.6-1.0 53.6 0.0-0.0 0.0 0.2-0.4 50.0 0.6 0.9 1.4 0.2 0.3 0.0 2.0 0.3 1.3 -
I heard on sports nightly tonight an interview with some 247 recruiting guy who said Nebraska is pretty confident they can land some more people for this year. I didn't listen to the whole thing and someone was trying to call me so I can't say all of what was said. But I can say the guy said Nebraska has some more people ready to commit. And not just for 2019.

Iowa shedding returning starters to the transfer portal has to be brick-shitting time for Psycho McCaffrey.

If he was good enough for Duke ...

Or perhaps the staff didn't communicate with him? I mean if someone leaked this to Washut and the players involved had not yet been informed and then Washut runs it and people all around have egg on their faces, I could certainly understand Thor reacting like that. If nobody's told him he's gone, then as far as he would be concerned, he's not. That's not obstinance or defiance. That's just not knowing what's about to hit you. These are good kids. I wish them nothing but good things in their futures. Given the regime change, I think their positions are somewhat in doubt and not secure. They fit the last coach's style better than the current coach's style. That's the nature of coaching changes, though. But, if they are to be out-processed, I wouldn't want them to find out by way of someone who read HOL texting or tweeting at them about transferring. That's not the way for a kid to find out that news.

Donovan the Recruiter: -
To borrow liberally from Whitman. I had to memorize that poem as a kid. I can maybe paraphrase part of a stanza now. "For on the deck my captain lies all fallen cold and dead." Or something like that. I could probably still recite "Old Ironsides" from memory. Or close to it. Ay tear her tattered ensign down Long has it flown on high And many an eye has danced to see that banner in the sky Beneath it rung the battle shout and burst the cannons roar and something. OK, maybe I can't remember that one either.

It's OK, Silver. We all need a little ventrification every now and then. The fact you got chewed out by your wife just means you're lucky enough to have one. For what it's worth, if my name was Thorir, I'd go by Thor. Because it's a kick-ass nickname. @Kent Pavelka can't call you "God of THUNDER!" if you go by Thorir. Just doesn't work.

2020 Hoiberg Offers/targets
Norm Peterson replied to Norm Peterson's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
We're not casting a wide net of 2020 offers if we're only looking to add 1 more player. Those offers represent point guards, wings and bigs. We're in on some damn good players. I agree with you, but his weakest area is something our new coach wants as a strength. -
2019 PF Yvan Ouedraogo - LOI
Norm Peterson replied to Norm Peterson's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
As I've said other places, I hope the kids didn't just read this on-line but were told by their coaches. So, I agree with you there. But that's not what I was referring to. What I was responding to was the two posts right above mine that talked about how technically we only have one scholarship open, but maybe more with what Washut was talking about. I've probably said some version of this at least half a dozen times in various threads on this board, but we didn't bring 4 1/2 million dollars worth of coaching salaries on board (or whatever the number is) to have them spend time trying to develop someone else's players to fit their system when there are guys out there they could get right now who are already better fits. So get them. It might seem cold and impersonal. Machiavellian even. But we made a coaching change for a reason. And when you want to make an omelette, sometimes you have to crack some eggs. -
2020 Hoiberg Offers/targets
Norm Peterson replied to Norm Peterson's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
In fairness, there's a 6-4 guy on the list who was trying like hell to get to 6-5. It just hasn't happened for him yet. Maybe it will. He still has hope. -
6-8 PG of the future. Cam Mack is a junior when he becomes eligible as a Soph.

2020 PF Dain Dainja -> Baylor -> Illinois
Norm Peterson replied to uneblinstu's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
So, we have one Rivals 4-star PF whose dad was roommates with Hoiberg in college. And another Rivals 4-star PF who is the cousin of an Omaha kid whom the Crystal Ball predictions have 100% to Nebraska. What are the odds? Seriously? The odds have to be at least 50% that we land one of them, I would think. -
As long as they didn't hear the news by stumbling upon it online. If they heard it from a coach, fine. I hope they just weren't ready to make it public and not that they hadn't told the kids yet. But anyone who's been paying attention couldn't be surprised by this news.
