I don't really care too much if it changes or not, but if it does, it should be something simple and I agree that it should not be tied to football or to any coach. --The Dungeon --The Forum --Husker Hoops Underground --Husker Hoop-la --Haymarket Hardwood

Good read on Gallegos in the Salt Lake Tribune
Nebrasketballer replied to aghusker's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I don't think there's any question that he will contribute. I think the debate has been whether he will start or not. -
I agree

There needs to be a No-Shim Sham policy at Pinnacle Bank Arena. Seriously. I would rather them just play sportscenter on that fancy new scoreboard or something during halftime... But I guess nothing says brand new arena in the middle of a vibrant new area of haymarket development like the shim shams...

16 year old 6'9 Vasilije Vucetic (sergej bro)
Nebrasketballer replied to FredsSlacks's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
Yea. I just posted the video since it was Sergej's bro. He won't be a d1 prospect unless he is at least 6'11. He could probably stay in europe and work on on his game until he is 20 and then maybe get a lower end D1 offer. Yeah. I could see that. I found this written about him in an article: Vasilije Vucetic (1996, 6’8”, C, Oljmpija Ljubljana, Serbia), is a really polished center with good fundamentals and sense of position. He has an old school style with limited athleticism -

I would be very disappointed if this is the type of player that Nebraska is bringing in 2 years from now. Especially because I think I read that he is a 6'8" Center. Very unathletic and should not be the type of player that Nebraska is signing in that recruiting class. -
Mikael Herbert - PF - Visiting Nebraska
Nebrasketballer replied to Nebrasketballer's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
I am surprised that Herbert left Lincoln without an offer. I thought for sure that the only reason for that could be that Miles had an ace up his sleeve (like Uchebo or Jeter). Now that Uchebo is a no-go, and Jeter doesn't look much more promising, I am a little more confused about Herbert not getting an offer. I really hope that Miles does have that last second commit sitting in his back pocket ready to make it official. There's only a few days left for guys to pop up onto the Nebrasketball radar before it will be too late. -

Is this the Sheldon Jeter we know? Yessir.
Nebrasketballer replied to ajb5856's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
Jeter was also ranked as a Rivals150 prospect in the 2012 class http://rivals.yahoo.com/basketballrecruiting/basketball/recruiting/player-Sheldon-Jeter-132266 -

Will you please post the tweets on here? -
You forgot Sergej. And Benny. Haha. Yeah. I guess I was talking about their playing time together, so I limited the list to players that I think actually have a shot of getting meaningful playing time... But yeah, point taken.

This would be so perfect. Uchebo is a true Center and would fill a HUGE need. It would also allow Pitchford to move over to the 4-Spot, which is the position where he fits best. Since he is a 3-for-3 guy, Nebraska would have 3 seasons of Pitchford, Petteway, Shields, and Uchebo playing together, in addition to the incoming freshmen class. That is alot of time for the upgrade of roster talent to get playing time together.

Ranked #4 Center by jucojunction.com

Uchebo is an active post player that is surprisingly skilled for his age; he loves contact and is a load in the low blocks. He is aggressive rebounding the ball on both ends of the floor. He knows how to post up; he gets big, has good hands 4-Star, ESPN 100 Player coming out of high school (#12 Center, #83 overall prospect in 2011 class) http://espn.go.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/103199/joseph-uchebo

A source confirmed Saturday that Nebraska is in the mix for Joseph Uchenbo, a 6-foot-11, 260-pound center from Chipola (Florida) Junior College and a former commit to North Carolina State. Uchenbo, who has visited Pitt and is visiting Minnesota, may also visit N.C. State, Oklahoma State and Nebraska. A native of Enugu, Nigeria, Uchenbo attended Word of God Christian Academy in Raleigh, N.C., but went the junior college route after issues with the NCAA Clearinghouse prevented him from joining the 2011 class at N.C. State. http://journalstar.com/sports/huskers/mens-basketball/nu-hoops-in-mix-for-nigerian-center/article_700af4a2-b4e6-11e2-bd76-0019bb2963f4.html

Wow! 6'10", 260 lbs. Rivals ranked him #13 Center, #96 overall prospect in the 2011 class. This would be HUGE!

Paul jesperson UVA possible transfer

You are correct. If everyone stays, then there is only one spot. That's why I said "(unless you take both and someone walks...)." -

Could it be that Jesperson is the back up plan in case Herbert goes elsewhere? I would surmise that NU wants both of 'em to upgrade the overall talent of the roster. I hope that you are right. I would love to see Nebraska add a 6'10" "swing four" and a 6'6"-6'7" Rivals 150 Forward to the roster. Then it will be all about signing a Center with the 2014 scholarship and Nebraska will be on their way to the top half of the conference -

Pretty inpressive offer list. Also, he might have a good relationship with Miles, since he offered him a scholarship at Colorado St. Still seems odd that Nebraska would go after him and Herbert, if there is only 1 scholarship (assuming no one leaves)...Rivals150 player though...Nebraska might not be in a position to turn a 150 player down. I wouldn't mind Nebraska getting both Jesperson and Herbert, but I don't know that I would be fired up about taking him instead of Herbert. Herbert has the 6'10" that you just can't teach. This is a little bit different from Tummla, because he has to sit a season. I don't know that Nebraska is in a position to take a guy that has to sit, instead of a guy that can contribute right away (unless you take both and someone walks...). http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/basketball/recruiting/player-Paul-Jesperson-88940 -
