Chris Moore and Wright St currently have an offer out to an uncommitted 2013 PF. Antonio Campbell, Power Forward, 6'9", 245 lbs Covington, Kentucky High School: Holy Cross AAU: Club Ohio Offers: Bowling Green, Chattanooga, Jacksonville, Kennesaw St, Kent St, Northern Kentucky, Ohio, Tenn-Martin, Winthrop, Wright St. He's not ranked, his film doesn't jump off of the screen at you (about as impressive as Atewe's), and his offer list is far from impressive, but he does have some size that Nebraska is currently lacking. Maybe it could be coached up? Not saying Nebraska should offer him or anything, but there isn't alot going on with basketball recruiting, so I thought I would throw that out there. Figured it would spark some sort of response. http://rivals.yahoo.com/nebraska/basketball/recruiting/player-Antonio-Campbell-136181

Mason Riggins - SF/PF - 2015
Nebrasketballer replied to Nebrasketballer's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
That's what I was thinking. Looks to be a pretty aggressive shot blocker and rebounder in the paint. -
Moore, who has more than 20 years of coaching experience, has spent the last three seasons at Wright State. He’d spent the previous four seasons at Morehead State, where he coordinated recruiting and helped land two classes ranked among the nation’s top 40. If Moore can help sign 2 top 40 classes to Morehead St, then I think he can probably do some damage recruiting to Nebraska's upgraded facilities and the Big Ten conference.

https://twitter.com/HuskerExtraBR/status/336349680873140224 By BRIAN ROSENTHAL / Lincoln Journal Star: Wright State assistant coach Chris Moore, who recruited current Denver Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried to Morehead State, has interviewed for Nebraska’s vacant men’s basketball assistant coaching position. A source close to Moore told the Journal Star that Moore was in Lincoln on Saturday to formally interview with second-year NU coach Tim Miles, who’s looking to replace Ben Johnson, now at Minnesota. Miles, in Las Vegas on Sunday for a golf function, stood firm on his stance on coaching searches, saying he’s not naming or confirming candidates. Miles, however, did say he’s interviewing a final candidate on Wednesday, and could have an announcement of a hire later this week. The source with knowledge of Moore’s interview said Miles decided on bringing three finalists to Lincoln. Moore, who has more than 20 years of coaching experience, has spent the last three seasons at Wright State. He’d spent the previous four seasons at Morehead State, where he coordinated recruiting and helped land two classes ranked among the nation’s top 40. That included Faried, who was the two-time Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year and an All-American in 2011, when No. 13 Morehead State upset No. 4 seed Louisville in the NCAA Tournament. Moore has also been a men’s assistant coach at Bellarmine University, Indiana-Southeast University and a women’s assistant coach at Cincinnati. Moore was a three-year letterman at Kentucky State University and graduated in 1991. He earned a master’s degree from Louisville in 2000. http://journalstar.com/sports/huskers/mens-basketball/moore-reportedly-among-finalists-for-nu-assistant-job/article_2ef2e09b-748a-5684-82b7-f648cbf16cc8.html

He has already visited Nebraska. https://twitter.com/UN_Lincoln/status/336302155512311808 https://twitter.com/MRiggins21/status/336318936595439616 -
Nebraska showing interest. No official offer yet. I would be shocked if he did not get the offer soon. Nothing has been posted on Rivals about his connection with Nebraska, but I saw a twitter conversation. I'll post that too. Mason Riggins I've seen him listed between 6'6" - 6'8". He's a 2015 prospect, so I'm sure the information isn't as up to date as it is for the 2014 prospects. Small Forward/Power Forward. 6'8", 230 lbs, top25 player in TX in the 2015 class From Whitewright, TX From his sophomore season: http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=US&hl=en&client=mv-google&v=FuqRibnPosU&nomobile=1 Link to Rivals profile: http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/recruiting/player-Mason-Riggins-142466

FGC : Take it to the Bank!
Nebrasketballer replied to Handy Johnson's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Yeah, sorry, I wasn't trying to direct that all just at you. I posted in response to a combination of posts. I posted that in response to the talk of FGCU being like those teams, but also the talk about how it was going to be an easy win, wouldn't be considered a good win in March, they are scrubs, etc. -
FGC : Take it to the Bank!
Nebrasketballer replied to Handy Johnson's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
FGCU was a top100 RPI team last season... A win vs a top100 RPI team is an impressive win in March... FGCU: RPI: 93 Record: 21-10 wins vs RPI 1-50: 3 wins vs RPI 51-100: 1 wins vs RPI 101-150: 3 wins vs RPI 151-200: 1 wins vs RPI 200+: 16 Nebraska: RPI: 103 Record: 14-17 wins vs RPI 1-50: 1 wins vs RPI 51-100: 2 wins vs RPI 101-150: 3 wins vs RPI 151-200: 6 wins vs RPI 200+: 3 Some of you have been equating the game vs FGCU to games vs Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Lipscomb, IUPUI, Houston Baptist, etc. This comparison is laughably far from accurate. RPI rankings: FGCU: 93 Arkansas-Pine Bluff: 202 Lipscomb: 236 IUPUI: 326 Houston Baptist: 310 http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/polls?poll=5&group=0 FGCU finished last season with an RPI ranked in top100, finished season ranked #25 in polls, made it to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA tournament... Nebraska playing FGCU is nowhere near comparable to Nebraska playing Arkansas Pine Bluff, Lipscomb, IUPUI, and/or Houston Baptist. -

I am completely jacked to have this kind of energy and athleticism come to Lincoln for the first game at Pinnacle Bank Arena. The NCAA Tourney highlights start at about the 1:00 mark FGCU Is The First 15-Seed In History To Make The Sweet 16 Relying on athleticism, crazy dunks, and opponents' belief that they must be a mirage as no school named "Florida Gulf Coast" could actually exist, the FGCU Eagles are headed to Dallas as the first 15-seed in the Sweet 16 in NCAA history. http://deadspin.com/dunk-city-here-are-all-of-fgcus-postseason-slams-com-458654269 -

FGC : Take it to the Bank!
Nebrasketballer replied to Handy Johnson's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
This is stupid and I don't understand how I'm supposed to be excited about this. This game would be a complete joke had FGCU not won some games this year in the tournament. Nobody would know who they are (just like nobody knew who they were 2 years ago when they came here) had they not won those NCAA tournament games. Quite frankly, a lot of our newer season ticket holders who may just be casual basketball fans and may not have watched every game of the NCAA tournament, will probably need an explanation as to who this FGCU team is.Plus Doc was able to pull the W against them two years ago, and nobody said nice things, so Miles better come away with a win. Dude, you didn't have to watch every game of the NCAA tourney to know who FGCU is. Dunk City was viral and they were everywhere. After this last NCAA tourney, there are probably more casual fans that don't know who Nebrasketball is than there are fans that don't know who FGCU is.It's up to you whether or not you like the game, but it's crazy to say that people won't know who they are. "This game would be a complete joke had FGCU not won some games this year in the tournament." ...but they did...and they made it to the Sweet 16... FGCU blew up last year, they aired a pep rally live on ESPN, ESPN also couldn't go 5 minutes without talking about them. I'm not saying it was the best move we could make but still there will be some hype around this game. Not to mention they are returning 4 out of the 5 starters from a team that made the sweet 16. Maybe went overboard with some of my comments. Just my initial reaction to not being as thrilled as others and how some are making this matchup sound. I guess I just expected too much and came away disappointed. I mean, we just played them. I realize what they did last year was special but for me this feels the same as when we would play Arkansas-Pine Bluff twice within three years or some of our other frequent non-conf opponents. David Lipscomb, IUPUI, Denver, Houston Baptist... Yeah, I can understand that. They aren't a traditional power so I get that. I think you will be pleasantly surprised how pumped you will be by the time the game rolls around. There's a good chance that Nebraska won't be favored in the game. FGCU made it to the Sweet 16 and finished the season ranked like 25. They return 4 of 5 starters, so there's a good chance that they will be ranked for the game. I think you will be pleasantly surprised if you give it a chance. -

1) The players will be jacked up to play "Dunk City", especially guys like Pitchford and Petteway who have been talking about taking guys that try to guard them to the rim and dunking on them. 2) The students will be super jacked for that game and will come out in full force, which will make for an amazing atmosphere. PBA will be flat out juiced for this game. 3) I wouldn't be surprised if the game is picked up by ESPN/ESPN2/ESPNU, which will be a great platform for Nebraska basketball to display the new team, new arena, and electric atmosphere. -

This is the first sentence from Robin Washut in a Rivals article today talking about recruiting. "Over the past couple decades, Nebraska has rarely even gotten a chance to get its foot in the door when it comes to recruiting the elite level high school prospects." The article obviously went on to illustrate how that has changed/is changing since Miles has come to Nebraska... I thought it was interesting and that it applied to this topic of the recruiting of Tim Miles and his staff...

Yeah, I agree with that, but also, wasn't the problem with Edwards primarily an injury issue? Like a shoulder or knee?No - he was just terrible. And dumb.I disagree. He wasn't terrible, nor was he dumb. He maybe lacked motivation, though. His shot rivaled Shawn Stegall's for ugliest shot I saw at Nebraska. And he was incredibly dumb on the court - never new where to be. Also had zero quickness. Interesting statement

Pretty easily... 2013: 2 players ranked in top 35. Every player ranked in top 60. Transfer has D1 experience. 2009: 1 player ranked in top 35. 2 players ranked in top 60. All 3 transfers were JC. (Nebraska’s only top 35 player ended up leaving) And the 2013 class doesn't have an almost equal amount of JUCO transfers and high school players. 2009 class did... Hard to build a program when half of your players are JUCO transfers when you are at a place like Nebraska where you are not getting first pick of the JUCO pool...
