  1. If in their opinion the staff feels they are both worthy of offers they I say go for it! I guess to a certain extent it would be how close the staff feels they are talent, potential ceiling and how they fit from a team chemistry standpoint. The chemistry part is one that has really impressed me with how well Miles and his staff have been holding to their core beliefs.
  2. Sure would be interesting to find out what schools they have contacted so far that have turned us down. After going 15 - 1 at home last year with pretty much a sold out crowd each game I can see why good teams are hesitant to play at the Vault.
  3. Something else to consider is that while I'm Miles would prefer to land a freshman big, if we have another great season it should be a lot easier to attract transfers. With all the incoming talent, the intimidating atmosphere at the Vault that helps with home court advantage, facilities and everything else we have going for us, we should be a very attractive destination to transfers and the 5th year graduate transfers.
  4. Pics or it didn't happen. Trust me...it happened Pics or it didn't happen. Trust me...it happened https://twitter.com/michaelbruntz/status/505824996552228864 Dimes you missed the joke. Internet rules state that if you mention a hot girl on said internet pics must be provided, otherwise lies. I'll be working on that pic. But I might not be able to get the "lean over the bar" shot..... In this picture of Terran and Glynn, it's as if Terran is saying, "You think this is pretty cool and exciting, wait until you feel the energy of a sold out Arena! Oh yeah, it's about to get real!"
  5. That would start garnering even more national attention from not just the media but from potential recruits. Especially considering the time frame within which it was accomplished by Miles and his staff.
  6. Completely share your sentiments here. The depth is going to be key in close games. Also to me it has been like just too much of a dream come true so far with the new guys on board. To even contemplate Terran staying for his senior year seems like a pipe dream. However with the magic that Miles is building and with Terran's inner drive to be the best that he can and Miles' proven ability to continue to develop each player every year..........I'm starting to feel like......you just never know!
  7. I see Benny as an indispensable part of this team the next two years. Not so much the minutes he'll see in games but rather as someone who will help the other guards become better by having to against him in practice everyday. His defensive intensity will push their games to another level. Also I can see Benny being a valuable spark plug that Miles can insert at critical times when he needs to generate some defense and some intensity into the game.
  8. I'm afraid to pinch myself, I'm afraid I'll wake up! Let's keep the BOOMS coming!!!
  9. They were seen tonight at Misty's downtown having dinner. Miles, Molinary, Hunter, Glyn and his family and Terran.
  10. Exactly why I picked TP. In the highlights from the Addidas camp he just seemed so much more confident in his midrange jumper. Also I noticed him attacking both sides of the basket with equal ease and aggressiveness. Last year it seemed like he always favored the right side. Plus is passionate and determined to improve his game where the NBA report listed some weaknesses that I just see him taking his game to a whole new level despite the great year he had last year.
  11. I can certainly see with greater comfort with his pull up jumper and more under control as he attacks the basket. Can't wait to see him live at the Vault!
  12. Plus I think Fuller will help not only with his greater accuracy and consistency than Gallegos but he will help open up driving lanes for the other guys.
  13. That actually makes a lot of sense.
  14. You don't know about the Haka??? It's like kind of a big thing in NZ...the All Blacks are famous for it! (I assume you were kidding here) Wasn't joking...was not aware NZ Rugby team is very famous for doing that before their matches.
  15. I could understand Michigan and Creighton not being ranked, but Michigan St?!
  16. In that first quarter USA destroyed Mexico in transition. The team seems to have other areas of strength to offset the lack of 3 pt shooting. First time I've seen Jessica Shepard play and I was extremely impressed.
  17. This is what I have been waiting to hear. A good PG will be huge for this team.
  18. I walked away with the same impression. The thing that stood out the most was his aggressive and assertive style. Sometimes players hurt themselves and their teams by being tentative and timid in their play. He shows a lot of confidence. That can make a big difference in a tight game.
  19. The report really has me excited to see just how much each team member has improved. It really sounds like Terran had no problem scoring.
  20. This is what I've been waiting to hear about Jacobson, whether he is still growing or not. Bigs have obviously been an area of need for quite some time for NU and hopefully he can provide some depth and contribute at both ends of the court. The more I read about this kid the more I like him. My main reason is that I still have faith in Tim Miles judgment on players.
  21. The women's renewal had to be in as of yesterday. I wonder why the men's renewal is 1 - 2 weeks away ? IIRC last year's payment for my tickets were due in mid to late August for men's.
  22. Not sure where you're coming from in saying the women's program doesn't have any more tradition than the men's team. The women got their first NCAA tournament win in the 1980s. They won a conference title in '88. Got another NCAA tournament win in the 90s. Obviously, the last 8 years the contrast has been dramatic, with 2 sweet 16s, a Big 12 title, a Big 10 tournament title, multiple NCAA tournament wins. You are correct, albeit understated, in noting the amount of in-state talent in the last 10-15 years in Nebraska high school girls basketball. It has been beyond "decent", it has been ridiculous in comparison to boys in producing upper D-1 talent. That was the basis for Yori upgrading the program. We weren't getting big-time national recruits until very recently, primarily the current freshmen class. We did it with under the radar national recruits like Griffin (lightly recruited until the very end due to being from Alaska), Danielle Page (a project, not offered by her home state of Colorado) and even Theriot, who wasn't offered by Ohio State. Even Lindsay Moore wasn't recruited by the big-time programs. Yori recruits to a system, the staff has done well with player identification and development (also a strength, imo, with Miles), and has had the benefit of having difference makers within a couple hundred miles of Lincoln. But if the perception is that we have been signing a bunch of 4 and 5 stars for an extended period of time, and beating the traditional powers head to head, that is not accurate. Excellent post HB. You are spot on in all your points. In particular where you mention that Yori and Miles recruit to a system. Miles has stated several times that the chemistry is also vital. So it's not just about talent that fits his system but a work ethic and mind set that will mesh well with the team. All we have to do is look back at what this team was able to accomplish once they all bought into his system and Deverell Biggs was booted. Same team, dramatic results. That's why while just as disappointed as everyone else that we have missed out so far on some commitments we were hoping for, I'm encouraged that Miles is being very selective in who he offers.
  23. The way Yori has managed the program I like our chances of that dream becoming a reality.
  24. What got me pumped up the most about the article was Fuller's comment towards the end that the added strength has really helped his confidence. You can't ever have too much confidence when you have shooting skills like his. I also liked the part that mentions his work with Wilson on his defensive footwork. What a bonus if he can be solid on defense besides providing the offensive outside scoring we need!
  25. Actually, he does appear larger HOLY CRAP!!! HE IS GOTTEN HUGE!!! Hopefully he doesn't need to take any x-rays. His elbows seem to be bending in the correct directions. The fingers of his left hand look like they have arthritis.....
