I believe they still have season tickets for $99 each. Of course they are in the upper tier. In fact I first bought season tickets for the first time ever after Tim Miles was hired. They were the $99 seats in the old Devaney Center. For most games we were able to move closer to the court. The next season was when the new arena opened and that same pricing was still available but we decided to upgrade our seats. With the way the PBA is designed more vertically, the upper tier seats are much closer to the court than at the Devaney Center.
-
Can anyone summarize his comparison between us and ND?
-
Before all the season tickets were sold out they used to have a readable schematic of the seats and the prices. Now you have to go to tickets renewals and unfortunately the chart they show is too small to read. Basically you are left with telling them how many tickets you want, how much donation if any you are willing to pay in addition to the cost of the tickets and any other preferences you might have. We have 2 tickets in level 2 towards a corner of the court. There is no donation required for our seats and they only cost $200 per seat. Worked out to $11 per ticket, per game. The sight lines are excellent. You probably are better off talking to someone in the ticket office to clarify any questions you may have.

He is not on scholarship is he? If not what is the big deal? Regardless of being a walkon you still want guys who are athletic enough to either have a legitimate shot at seeing some PT down the road or at the very least athletic enough to provide decent competition in practice. Watch his HUDL film and then tell me your impression of him.

Is this the right forum to ask about and incoming freshman walkon? I saw BJ Day listed above and watched some HUDL of two games on him. A little surprised we're taking him.

Leslee Smith out for 2014-15 with an ACL tear
NeHoops replied to hhcmatt's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Well, this certainly is not a good thing.......very unfortunate. You have to start wondering a bit about his ability to be healthy. -
No it was cancelled for various reasons.

I think it's awesome that the #3 rated player in the country is Jessica Shepard from Fremont. Connie Yori took some heat on some message boards when she got the huge raise. I'd say she has more than earned it. Her last couple of recruiting classes have been stellar. I feel that she will have Nebraska in the conversation when the top teams in the country are discussed on an annual basis.

Leslee Smith out for 2014-15 with an ACL tear
NeHoops replied to hhcmatt's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I was surprised at the poor level of play. Aside from Leslee Smith the only other good player was # 9 who was just raining down 3's like crazy. Some of the teams they played against were pretty poor. But then I had to remind myself that these islands obviously have very small populations to draw from. -
In reading the article I took it to mean that Durant must have been holding back the first day because on the second day nobody could stop him. So in that context it's a little less impressive.
-
Actually it might be less. He'd be a 5th year senior so he'd be another year older at that point with more wear on the tires. Plus if he makes the jump we all think he might there may not be much left to improve on. I think the only thing that could persuade him if he does what we expect is if the draft class at the 2/3 position gets loaded but its way too early to tell. You bring up some very valid points as far as his stock starting to go down if he waits one more year. Personally I think that if his next NBA eval places him within the top 15 or even top 20 picks he is gone. If he ends up rated past the top 20 I think there is a small chance he comes back, especially if we do land White and have a killer 2015 class coming in.
-
The added 15 lbs of muscle will help him around the rim and I'm guessing with his quickness as well. 3% body fat is ridiculous! Hopefully he will end up cutting down on his turnovers this coming season.

To really prove the point of the strength of coaching in the B1G, 3 of the top 9 coaches!

With each new article that comes out, there is no doubt that Andrew White is the real deal. His maturity, leadership, work ethic, and especially his shooting and rebounding skills make him such a perfect fit for what we need. I'm starting to get nervous now, because if we don't get him I'm really going to be disappointed. Here's hoping that he represents a positive change in our recruiting fortunes after missing out on other coveted targets.

......what surfer?! .............

That was one of the most positive articles I've read in terms of our chances of landing him. I was impressed that he mentioned some things that were very important to him. Being able to talk to the actual players and interact with them and not just the coaches in order to get the "straight scoop". Also he was impressed that Shavon and Terran reached out to him after his visit ended. This was because he said he knows from already being a college player that players only reach out to recruits if they feel that recruit will not only help the team but also fit in chemistry wise. I also liked that he said when he feels ready he will pull the trigger. He isn't looking to take all his allowed visits. A very mature outlook on things all around. The more I read, the more I hope we land this kid.
-
Hope he's not Catholic. Hope he's not Irish. Heard he was Black Irish.
-
I disagree as I have feeling we are going to land this kid. But don't we always seem to start strongs on kids but can never close on them. Such as Cornish and DengOr . . . you mean "always" have trouble "closing" on kids like Petteway and Pitchford and Webster and Fuller? Perhaps he means highly-rated players or when competing against high-level programs. We really have never been nationally relevant in BB. So I think it's comparing apples to oranges when comparing our ability to close top level players even against teams like Baylor and Iowa State, let alone against the storied programs like Duke, North Carolina, Kansas and Kentucky. While I'm just as anxious as everyone else to see us land our first top 100 or 50 recruit, I think Miles will get us there. I like to think that this coming year will go a long ways towards showing that last year wasn't a fluke and help us to start getting the type of talent that will finally get us over the hump and into serious contention for Conference titles and actually getting multiple wins in March Madness. JMO.

Thanks, that makes total sense.

PG Kevin Dorsey from Virginia ...a 2015 Rivals Top 150
NeHoops replied to trickey's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
All the coaches should have been back in town that same night after the last stop, unless they had other arrangements. -
Is it just me or do a fair number of these visits seem to all of a sudden be made public with little or no advance notice to the media? Wouldn't it work to Nebraska's advantage to make these visits known ASAP to the media? We have all heard stories of recruits of various sports being very impressed that Nebraska fans knew who they were and greeting them in airports, on campus or around town.
-
Don't like Bo Ryan as a person but you have to give him his due as a very successful coach.

Can someone paste the Rivals article for those of us not Rivals subscribers? TIA.

Nice Arena! Thanks for sharing some pictures of the area as well!

It's all about the art and the pageantry, jedi light saber fighting! This is just the part where they were warming up. It's the Jedi version of "Wax on.....Wax off" ........
