  1. Buzz. Kill. Damn.
  2. Not when you realize St. Bonaventure is considered to be a far superior team (in the RPI rankings at least) than Nebraska. Sad.
  3. Is Idris Taqqee's nickname "Ticky"?
  4. TCU and Davidson, too.
  5. I can't believe I'm watching 55 minutes of A-10 basketball.
  6. I know this is slightly beating a dead horse, but I'm watching the Gators school Alabama, and the bored commentators start launching into a discourse on which conferences are best. They've made up their mind on data points from 10 to 15 weeks ago. It's tiresome.
  7. Down 33 at home to St. Joe's (8-8, 13-15). Wow.
  8. That, and geography escapes them. Missouri = East?
  9. Talk radio yesterday in Cedar Rapids with hosts and Mike Hlas of the Gazette. I paraphrase: "Nebraska probably has the most to prove in the tournament. I mean, I don't get how a 13-5 Big Ten record isn't enough, but that's what the pundits are saying, so they have the most motivation, which means they have a great chance to win a couple of games and maybe the whole thing."
  10. And the other half of the court!
  11. I've seen enough. My god. The horror. The horror.
  12. It's Room-Only at the Hytche Athletic Center in Princess Anne, Maryland for DSU and UMES.
  13. Four minutes til magic time, people. Let's go HORNETS! Clap clap clap clap clap. Let's go HORNETS! Clap clap clap clap clap. Let's go HORNETS! Clap clap clap clap clap. Let's go HORNETS! Clap clap clap clap clap.
  14. Most of the time, they spell it correctly, too:
  15. He's right. You just don't walk into ... uh, wherever UMES is and walk out with a victory. Unless you're St. Bonaventure. Or Bethune-Cookman. Or North Carolina AT&T. Or NC Central, Howard and Norfolk State. Delaware State's last road victory — Feb. 11, 2017 at Morgan State. Hornets looking to avenge last year's 65-64 loss to UMES in Dover. Should be electric.
  16. Nebraska's road record (4-8), according to KenPom: November @ #76 L @ #102 L (neutral court, home town) December @ #5 L @ #28 L January @ #90 W @ #4 L @ #32 L @ #15 L @ #161 W @ #80 W February @ #108 W @ #101 L
  17. Does it matter that the Illinois team we lost to is 4-6 in its last 10 games?
  18. Here's an original source for the quote, from the Nebraska sports information office: Opening Statement: “Really proud of my team the way they fought the second half there. Obviously they jumped us. Senior night, a lot of emotions, a lot riding on this game. Give Tim [Miles] and Nebraska credit, they’ve been playing really good basketball over the last month and they came out and punched us in the mouth." Obviously, reporters at the same press conference will take their own notes and make their own recordings, so it's really on the AP reporter or an AP editor, and a string of editors down the line at just about every AP outlet in the country, who screwed it up.
  19. I haven't seen a clean version, but the only subscription version I've seen is the WaPo. Again, any editor reading the story should see the "Tim Miles" reference early and the Floyd reference later and do a quick Google search if they don't know.
  20. That's an AP story, and that quote is in just about every paper in the country, the BTN website, the Washington Post website, etc. So not only did Eric (Garner) screw it up, any number of copy editors did the same. Or Eric (Bana) sent a correct version to his immediate editor at the AP, who then added in the bad information. Interestingly, the first quote in the story is attributed to Nebraska coach Tim Miles: “It’s a very important night, a historic night from what I’m hearing,” said Nebraska coach Tim Miles. I know the reporter was probably Eric Olson, the AP beat guy based in Omaha. Just thought I'd play the wrong-last-name game.
  21. Is there an actual video stream to watch the Hornets? I know Stetson is on ESPN3.
  22. "What a tremendous season for the Huskers." — Dave Revsine "They really look like a tournament team." — Mike DeCoursey "They have a lot of work to do to get into the tournament." — Those same guys. Couldn't be more frustrating. Women's team is No. 3 seed after 11-5 conference season. Men's team is No. 4 seed after 13-5 conference season. Both "need to make a run" in the tournament to be considered for the NCAA. What is this? The WAC?
