I sincerely doubt there will be any dissention or sulking on Benny's part if he's replaced as the starter. I have zero "insider" knowledge but based off of that one time when he was basically told that he may never play here and it might be in his best interest to leave.......and he stayed......that's all I'm saying.
-
Not bad for my first attempt at posting twitter. To add to the discussion, I'd probably be ok with Watson starting over Benny. Whatever, just win us games.

I am converted. When I first saw the Iced Out unis I hated them, mostly because of the short sleeves. After seeing them in person, they are in fact growing on me. I like that adidas is giving us more options and that we're actually wearing them. Unlike the alternates of the last few years where they only wear them for a game or two.
-
But the shorts incorporate Voltage. Most people liked the Voltage. I, for one, like the Voltage look but I can see where people can say the tops and bottoms don't quite match each other.

I don't know you guys, if you try hard enough you can use animal clichés until the cows come home.

uneblinstu's Post Game Chatter: ed 8, vol 8 - Miami
Red Rum replied to uneblinstu's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I had a discussion with a friend of mine before the game about the Watson/Benny thing. It seems that the prevailing thought is that Benny gives us a spark off the bench. While that's true I also think that Watson give us a spark, but it's an offensive spark. That's pretty much the only place Watson holds an advantage over Benny in my mind. And if Benny keeps shooting like this, that advantage is going to be quite small. Watson still has a lot to learn, let Benny have his moment. He's not hurting the team as much as people think/have thought in the past. On another topic, it didn't look like they wanted to help off White. Granted they didn't need to since anyone who drove to the bucket was met by a giant rim proctor. We need to find a way to go inside out to get White some open kick outs. He hasn't show me much to think he can get his own shot off. -
Game Day Essentials: Game #7 vs Miami Hurricanes
Red Rum replied to hhcmatt's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I wish I could give everyone on here that hates the 3 clap crap and infinity up arrows. -
shots fired

I would also purchase a jersey/shorts if they were to offer them in stores. Why not? I saw the Husker store in PBA is trying to hock those hideous sleeved jerseys we're going to wear sometime in the future.
-
I've never been happier to sit through a terrible basketball game. These are now my favorite throwback/alternate unis we've had.

EXACTLY! I wish I could ask Miles his thought process on why he wants a certain guy inbounding, because right now I don't see the benefit at all What I saw from the Nova game and previous games where we are getting pressed is Miles likes to have 2 ball handling guards bringing the ball up so they have to wait for the other guard to come down to the baseline and take the ball out. I completely agree that we need to just have whoever is closest take the ball out and throw it in to whoever is the point. Also I doesn't seem to my novice eyes that having the guys along the sidelines running down the court is helping with the press break. In high school whenever we were faced with a press similar to Nova's we ran someone to mid court to open up some passing lanes so maybe send Shields or White in there? Just spit balling. I am still ok with the starters, but maybe adjust the minutes a little more. Lil more Watson, maybe throw in some Evelyn. I'm not ready to anoint Trueblood the second coming based off of 10 minutes against an undersized, less athletic D2 school. Maybe toss in some Tanner, he can foul just as good as the guys we're running out at the 5 right now. Hope that doesn't make me sound too pessimistic. I still really like this team and (so far) it's been fun cheering for a team that could end up being really good but I'm not heaping tons of expectations on.

This is one time agree with the adidas hate. I am not a fan of the sleeves at all.
-
I have no idea what the style was and my quick search proved to be unfruitful, but those all red shoes some of the guys wore last night at the scrimmage thing.....I dug em.
-
I didn't see any in there for sale but they have both a Men's and Women's Nebraska Basketball flag hanging in the store at PBA.
-
I may be falling into Norm's lower category but I seem to think, in my pea brain, that Nike wasn't all that hyped up about outfitting all of Nebraska's sports teams. In any event I doesn't really matter to me what brand is putting out Nebraska gear, I'll pony up for the crap all the same.

I run to the nearest computer when I see Coach Miles tweet out that Boom pic. (I tried to log on my phone but I forgot my password. fail)

I can go either way on this subject, but I probably wouldn't buy a $9 beer at a game. I also don't see it as being as big of a problem as some people think. The ones who are going to get drunk and disorderly at a Nebrasketball game, or any other sporting event, are usually already drunk when they show up in the building.
-
Sharp. I like em. Might be the best jerseys Nebrasketball's had in a while, not including the throwbacks, tourney or all red jerseys they've worn.
-
I'd love to see a matchup with some former Big 8 schools and maybe Texas for recruiting. I'd move Kansas to, at best, the middle of that pack though. I've heard more than my fair share of Rock Chalk in the Bob. I'd be ok if I never heard it at PBA. It makes my skin crawl and not in a good way. But I've made the roadtrip to Lawrence for a Nebrasketball game. It's a fun town. I'd be ok with that.

Very limited number of NU season tickets are now available
Red Rum replied to AuroranHusker's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I'm in a similar boat, the guy next to me has 4 seats that are for sale every game on Stubhub. And while I don't have anyone on the other side complaining about the players, they might be complaining about me. I don't think anyone in my section likes us. We like to yell, aka support our team. -
This. If they win a NCAA tournament game, they could wear trash bags with holes cut in them for their heads and arms for all I care. Who have you been talking to?!? While not completely blind I do need the use of corrective lenses and I am one of those people who hold those voltage unis in high regard.

Last year with that gravel parking lot to the east and the blue garage it was hard to get out of the green garage swiftly. The south exit from the green garage was right across from the north exit of the blue. It seems to all depend on how quick you got from your seats to your car. I suggest parking as low as you can in the green lot that way if you can get there fairly quickly after the game you can get right out. Otherwise you'll just have to sit and enjoy the post game coverage on the radio.

PA Announcer (I'm not talking about football)
Red Rum replied to aksarben's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Really??? I think that is pretty lame. Personally, I'm not a big fan of our announcer either. this. -
This sounds like an ordeal. I'm glad I moved down to 200 level from what would have been the top of 300 level the first season in PBA. I'm guessing baring any major life event or sudden major ticket increase, I'll be sitting in these seats until they pry the tickets from my cold dead fingers.
