OT: Farewell Thin White Duke

Just had to bid farewell here to the Thin White Duke.  I know David Bowie is about 180 degrees from basketball (although he wrote "Under Pressure," which you'll sometimes here at NBA games, etc.), I also know a lot of us here share a passion for music as well.  May he finally learn if there's Life on Mars.

My dad used to question my sanity when I talked about how talented David Bowie was...then he sang Little Drummer Boy with Bing Crosby.  Dad converted and finally agreed with me that he was great...strange, but a great talent.

I had a hard time dealing with this news when it broke last night as people were trying to figure out if it was a hoax or not. I've come to appreciate his music more as I've gotten older and it really, really saved me in the late 2000s. I'm devastated but there's so much he's left behind as a legacy, not only his own music but the influence he's had on music for the last 40+ years. Picking a favorite song would be impossible but I love the guitar riff from this song so much.

Quicksand off Hunky Dory  was always my favorite. Dinosaur Jr. did a sick cover of it back in the early 90's...
