redsteve, do you know who has the record for most B1G freshman of the week awards? I know Ohio St's Kelsey Mitchell garnered a lot of them last season but I'm not sure if she has the record or not. I would guess Jess has a good shot to get near or break the mark this year if she stays healthy.

No, really don't know enough of B1G history for that one. Yes, would have thought of Mitchell, but that's only last year.

 

Won't be too surprised if Jess is on All B1G freshman team this year, if all goes well and no injuries. Maybe even simply All B1G.... period. Maybe not 1st team, but 2nd ??.  ....got to think big for our NU ladies !!

Why stop there? Why not national ROY? I do think she could at least be in the conversation.

Jess could very easily be first team All Big Ten, since there are ten players on it.

 

I expect her to surpass Zahui's scoring average, though not match her rebounding average because Nebraska won't chuck 3s at will the way Minnesota does. Also, Jess doesn't miss shots at will the way Zahui did.

For us to be able to beat higher rated teams we will need to be a lot more consistent from the three point line from game to game.  That was some what of a problem last year as well.  Extremely hot one game and then cold in the next game or two.  We have the shooters in Theriot, Clark and Romeo just  need the consistency.
