I think he made a great choice in hiring Miles for our basketball program.  I think his handling of Doc's BUYOUT(not contract extension) left some egg on his face when he fired Doc the next year.  Which of course is pertinent to this thread now that Norm brought it up.

Not sure Molinari deserves more money than Hunter.  Just saying....

 

 

Their salaries are separated by $662, or basically two bucks a day. ;)

 

 

Or....less than 3 tenths of one percent.  (0.0027)

Tim Miles wasn't the ONLY Big Ten coach to get a contract extension yesterday:

A few weeks back our staff discussed the prospect of Collins leaving and this issue came up in our thread. Northwestern has to keep Collins' salary competitive and the extension appears to do that. The Tribune's Teddy Greenstein hypothesized that Collins probably got a raise from the reported $1.4 million he originally signed for to close to the reported $1.7 million per year extension Illinois head coach John Groce signed for in 2014.

Not saying this to start the morning snarkily (is that a word or did I just coin one?) but I read my sports and economically challenged spouse the LJS sports headline story this morning and her comment was " He makes two million dollars a year and has a losing record?...That's criminal!". Of course, all of us common folk make similar comments about everyone in the entertainment and business industries every day depending upon what we feel is "important". Have a nice rainy day, everyone.

Jimmy, of course all the athletes, actors, coaches, multimillion dollar executives, etc. are vastly overpaid...

Especially since they would still do the same thing even if they were "only" paid one million as a top salary!

We learned 2 days ago that Tim Miles got an extension for Nebrasketball, but we learned yesterday that he also got a raise of nearly $400K per year. Jake and Lanny wonder if that is deserved after a 13-18 year, or if maybe other teams are interested in him and the Huskers are doing what they can to keep him here. Also, 2016 Husker QB commit Terry Wilson spoke to 247 Sports’ Mike Schaefer at a QB camp in Oklahoma City, and he talked about his strengths.
