Midland University has announced the hiring of Lindsey Moore as a graduate assistant coach for the women's basketball team. Moore, a former first-round pick out of the University of Nebraska, won a WNBA title with the Minnesota Lynx in 2013 and has played overseas for the last two years.

"I am very excited about having Lindsey join our staff," said Midland's head women's basketball coach Shawn Gilbert. "Her experiences as both a collegiate and professional player will be such an asset for us, both on and off the court, especially where recruiting is concerned."

I think what's most exciting about this hire is that Lindsey will be in Nebraska and will be close enough to Lincoln to pop in and out of the PBA and catch the Huskers when Midland isn't playing! The GPAC play most of their games on Wednesday's and Saturday's

She was cut by Minnesota last year.  Row6, HB, - etc can you tell us why she didn't stick in the wnba? At first, it seemed premature to coach when she was playing less than a year ago.

Lindsey was struggling with her shooting percentage from outside when she was cut. Minnesota claimed they had found a free agent that could shoot a better percentage coming off the bench than Lindsey. Only thing is, once they brought that player in she found herself on the bench more than what Lindsey was. Once the Lynx cut Zeroes I more less quit following them. Lindsey was a fan favorite in Minnesota, only thing was though, she seldom got off the bench.

Lindsey very much knows her talent and where her bread and butter lay in the future and in true Lindsey Moore form she's going after it. I applaud her for making this decision. With her dedication and communication skills she will go far in this next phase of her career!

Scoring or lack there of was the primary reason, according to my friend in Minn. Just didn't score much...had maybe a 2 pt average, or something in that range. Got to score at that level, or there will be another in your place in a hurry.

Great kid, great player...good luck in other pro endeavors, or coaching.

Is she planning on playing in Europe, etc, next season ?
