Woah, that's a huge break for Nebrasketball facing the Illini without RayRay next Sunday night... who will step up for Illinois to take that 5-step non-travel lay-up that RayRay perfected?

Oh, yeah, that's really tough for Illinois.  He was their best player by far.  You don't take 17 ppg out of a lineup that has only 2 double-figure scorers and not have a huge impact. 

 

Bad thing for them is that it happened only a couple games into the conference slate and so now they go the rest of the way with a limited roster.

 

I'd say their guys probably play over their heads with a sense of urgency the first game out after Rice.  Then, they'll fall back for a few games while the other players gradually try to figure out how to pick up the slack.  Could be 10 games before they completely adjust to their new roles.

We have 1 guy over 6'7" playing any significant minutes and he doesn't like to bang inside.

 

Meanwhile, we have two bigs on the bench with significant injuries.

 

Yeah, not season-ending and not to our very best player, but we might beat Indiana at home if we have Moses Abraham to play D against Mosquera-Perea.

So, would this be further indictment against Groce as a coach?  Clearly, a good coach wouldn't allow injuries like this to happen.

Rayvonte was the best player not wearing a Nebraska jersey That I watched in the PBA last year. Are others more talented, sure, but he was toe to toe with TP.
